Thats how you give "Duelest Energy" to a character, which also kinda makes Dooku a bit more badass. Some unique frill about their mannerisms that either shows their confidence or their commitment to the technique. My favorite example of this is Fiora from league of legends having a line for basically every legend she takes off the board in Legends of Rune Terra.

that's why yoda is the most powerful jedi, he uses a floating cushion to ensure he remains as comfortable as possible at all times to be one with the force
The point in mentioning the pajamas isn't that that directly gives him a crutch. It's just the circumstances in which he'd be wearing pajamas that would typically put you at a disadvantage (namely exhaustion).
what I like about this fight is that it demonstrate the sheer level of discipline Dooku has. He is able to keep his composure fighting blinded and surprised with utter control. no rage, no passion guides this. He might be a sith lord but in his heart he fights them for most of this fight with the composure and control of a Jedi Master that he once was. Only when overwhelmed by three younger opponents does he tap his darkside points loose the raw power of a true Sith Lord on them. You could argue Dooku has blended elements of his life as a jedi master with his sith lord status. Though you could argue that in the process he has taken the worst of both worlds unto himself.
Honestly I don't even think he was overwhelmed. I think he just feigned being tired so that he could get the perfect opening to strike with lightning so they wouldn't even stand a chance of blocking. Using force lightning takes a lot out of someone yet right after he's finished using it, we see his breathing and movements are way more controlled then they were right before his Saber was knocked out of his hand.
I want to see more examples of Dooku getting attempts on his life while he's doing completely mundane daily routines like while he's brewing a cup of Space Folgers or doing his taxes
I wonder if Grievous would survive this situation. Obviously they wouldn't be able to drug him, which would give him an advantage, and while I doubt Ventress could take him alone, the help that the other nightsisters provide might be too much for him, although they are rather inexperienced.

Jack Brennan His own planet I believe. His home world was ruled by a collective of several Counts and he was born to one of em. He relinquished the title after he was found by the Jedi, but reclaimed it when he betrayed them for the Sith. Least I think that’s the case
not 70. If i am not mistaken he is well over 80 at this poitn. Because he was around 80 in attack of the clones film, when he faught Youda and this is well after that. Years after. He died at 83, when he was betrayed by Sidious in the film Revenge of the sith.
I love how unlike most fights in movies and tvs where it feels like the other characters are almost "taking their turns" to fight, all 3 nightsisters are trying to kill him at all times but they cannot land anything on him at all.
To be fair, there were times when they literally stood there and waited for the other night sister to attack, if Star Wars episode 3 didn’t come out before this show, dooku would’ve died here.

Greavous could beat Dooku, it just depends on what version of Greavous your thinking of, the cowardly one in clone wars and movie, or the merciless killing machine from EU. Dooku always had a hard time keeping him in line. Another thing, these nightsisters (exept Ventress) had little to no experience with this kind of combat. So Dooku holding his own was actually easier than it looks. Greavous however, can use 4-6 lightsabers at once and can hit his target *20 times per second* I doubt Dooku can keep up with that for long. The Greavous in the clone wars series however i agree stands no chance.
+Zach Perin Totally agree with you on the grounds that EU Grievous was a monster but you have to remember that the force plays a massive factor in a practitioners lightsaber skills, like in the Clone Wars (2003) Grievous and Dooku were having an intense sparring session with Grievous going all over the place including using his feet yet Dooku still managed to disarm him. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I love his fighting style of form two. You can tell he knows he’s best off not trying to fight all 3 at once (given form twos specialising in single combat) So at most opportunities he gets rid of one of the sisters while fighting two. And when he feels overwhelmed he doesn’t try to force his way out, he makes a tactical retreat to areas better suited for him.
You can see his mastery of Makashi, since most form 2 strikes are one handed based he uses his free hand to create distance to avoid putting himself in a stylistic disadvantage (as form 2 is best in 1v1 battles and suffers vs groups) He did the same thing in ROTS when he used the force on Obi-wan. Makashi being a duelling specific style also encourages tactical retreats as opposed to head on battles as it’s best used at mid range anyways in order to parry and poke through the opponents defence
Dooku smirks at 2:48 and I reckon it's because after he salutes, Ventress matches it out of habit. He likely trained her that way. He smirks because he realises who he's fighting and now knows how to win.
I think its more likely that he salutes her not because he recognizes her, he didn't know it was her cuz if he did he wouldn't go to nightsisters(Ventress' people) for a new apprentice. I think he salutes there cuz in that brief fight until there he realized that the blue saber wielder is the best fighter among the three "jedi". He must have think Ventress is the jedi master and the others are padawan or sth.
I love that she returns the salute. I don't know if Dooku realized if it was Ventress, but he at least knows he's fighting a Form 2 (Makashi) user from that, which is his own specialization. So he definitely knows how to outclass his opponent.
I think it was more so that he knew he was fighting another Makashi user. Also, he was probably started having fun with the fight because he knew that, if they hadn’t been able to kill him by that point, they weren’t going to be able to. I imagine a fight to the death like this becomes easier to enjoy in the moment when you realize that your opponents don’t have the skill to beat you.
And drugged, and in his PJ's. Not to mention these aren't just anybody, he trained Ventress to be a top tier assassin and the other two Nightsisters' are amongst the best in the clan.

Can take on 3 opponents at once despite multiple opponents being a disadvantage of Makashi, and also despite the fact that he's is blinded and barely awoken.

This fight is Dooku's most impressive showing in the entire franchise. Drugged, outnumbered, slowly weakening from the poison, and using a sabre style meant for single combat, and yet he still dominated the fight until the poison took its toll.
He could use force and trash them around anytime, but he still decides to fight with lightsaber because his duelist spirit doesnt allow him to not do that. He only uses force to end the battle once he is too weakened by poison to keep on fighting.

It isn't just awesome that he fights blinded, poisoned and outnumbered, but even more incredible because of the fact that Dooku's main style is Makashi; a style literally meant for ONE-ON-ONE duels
Dooku mastered all 6 Jedi fighting styles and was trained by Master Yoda. After falling to the dark side he was trained by Sidious. Makashi was his favorite fighting style, but he was using an unorthodox.
Just realized that throughout the fight, dooku plays defensive testing each one to see who is force sensitive/isn't. At 2:12 he tries it and realizes that she basically has no ability at all so when she gets behind him later he doesn't worry about it. At 2:53 he tries to force push ventress and it doesn't work so he tries it to the last one at 3:03 and concludes that only ventress can really use the force. Dooku then baits then to the window so and fakes the poison so they will all go to attack them so he can shock them and throw em out the window. Based dooku
since he thought they were jeding he was actually testing which of the ones could have their force shield broken but yeah very well analyzed I definitely missed this
Its a plot point that he doesn't know it's her, he finds out much later, the reason for the smirk is that it's the poster child of the form makashi, of which dooku is considered the best user in the last 5000 years, when he learns that he's being combatted against his own form, he immediately realises that he still holds the advantage and now knows how to lure them into losing
One of the best things about the Clone Wars was that it showed you just how powerful Dooku was. Dooku was probably around the 4th most powerful being in the galaxy, he was the main villain of Clone Wars and they treated him as such. He was untouchable in this show, it was awesome.

I know two of the 3 nightsisters are untrained in jedi ways, but this is impressive for Dooku. Fighting 3 opponents, having just woken up, while drugged and unable to see them. Still wins.

Dooku is probably the finest bladesman in the entire galaxy at this point. Those few who can best him tend to do so because of their force advantages, not their dueling skills (for example, Yoda being a ping-pong ball in Ep II is something Dooku, an old man with much less power in the force, can't keep up with, despite his better technical bladework).
I cant tell if anyone else noticed this, but dookus blade ignition is a nod to his main character trait, his stride for perfection, perfectly centered on his face. When maul defeats pre visla, he ignites the blade off center, showing just how chaotic he is

Here's exactly how I think the prequels should've played out for perfection. Have Count Dooku be the main Sith and Darth Maul be his apprentice. Darth Sidious just killed Plaguies and now wants to establish himself as a Master and needs an apprentice, but Dooku and Maul complicate matters because of the Rule of Two and Sidious is by himself. This will give him ample reason to want Anakin as his apprentice. He could've then manipulated everything from the shadows till he seduced Anakin and then the two of them could've fought Dooku and Maul to be the only Sith. How awesome would that've been? A grand Sith Battle Royale
Ray Muniz That battle would have been absolutely breathtaking! Also, pointless characters like Jar Jar and Viceroy Nute Gunrey could have been ommited. With the surface of the Darth Jar Jar theory, people have started hating on Dooku for not seeing Jar Jar's reveal as the main villain at the end of Episode 2. Supposedly, Lucas wanted Jar Jar to be a villain but he chickened out due to fan backlash and replaced him with The Count(Thank God). If the prequels had been developed the way you suggested, then the story would be amazing, Lucas could have fleshed out all three villains(Dooku, Maul and Sidious) and he could have offered us a spectacular and epic in scale clash between The Sith in Episode 3. A pity indeed.

That doesn't make any sense at all - there was no indication that he knew it was Ventress. After Savage Opress brought dead King Kaatunko, Dooku was shocked to learn that Ventress was still alive. Also, if he knew, why would he say that Ventress was dead and the Jedi attacked him to Talzin when she offered him an apprentice - he knew of Talzin and Ventress' connection, and it would be foolhardy to play that dangerous game with Talzin.
I love the little detail of Dooku's eyes starting to glow, just for a brief moment, when he prepares to engage them to show that he's tapping into the Dark Side in order to sense them better and fight off the drug
2:43 is one of the most badass shots I’ve ever seen. The slow standup with the ignited saber moving into a duelist stance. Dooku was always one of the classiest characters in all of star wars, and it shows particularly well with his saber form

Well he was still very proficient in every other form. Good enough to teach padawans in fact. But he was a perfectionist about the practical use of the Force, so he chose Makashi.
Gotta love how Dooku and Ventress are the only ones who do the Makashi salute (aka having the saber in a vertical position right in front of them), considering they both use the form (and Dooku did train her too). I wonder if Dooku was suspecting that he was fighting Ventress, despite the blue saber.
Between his fairly brief but awesome appearances in AOTC and ROTS, and being basically the main villain of the Clone Wars show, and even getting a sympathetic backstory in Tales of the Jedi, Dooku is one of the most underrated Star Wars characters.
@@joeelliott2810 Dooku was almost ruined by The Clone Wars series - this arc was actually the only time he showed any of the nuance he had in AOTC and ROTS because he genuinely didn't want to kill Ventress - but Tales of the Jedi was the greatest portrayal of him since the Prequels, at least outside of the Expanded Universe. My only regret is that Christopher Lee wasn't alive to deliver one last hurrah. Corey Burton's "Let me give you peace, Master Yaddle" was chilling but the way he drew out the word "peace" made him just sound evil. Christopher Lee would have said it sorrowfully, like his regretful "I'm sorry, old friend" to Mace Windu.
Fun fact: Did you know that master of the force can use the force to clean poisons, and other debilitating effects from one's body while in meditation? In this case I can see and find acceptable dooku using the force to cleanse his body while fighting the three. Dooku is a true master, so that isn't impossible, the fact that he fought two of the best nightsisters, and a dark jedi, and while poisoned, AND with his pijamas, makes him one of my most favorite sith lords . All hail Darth Tyrannus!
Yep for all we know the Night Sisters we’re trying to outright poison him, only it was censored being a kids show or because Asasji wants to kill him fighting. Either way he was indeed healing himself as they fought
I love that despite having been blinded, his first move is to do a front flip into a strike on his opponent. Rather stay on the defensive he pushed and completely surprised his attackers. It was a great example Darkside dueling tactics and makes this one of my favorite duels in clone wars!

It is so satisfying to watch the sheer arrogance of the Nightsisters (and Ventriss) get shattered upon facing an enemy beyond their ability (not to mention that they drugged, blinded and outnumbered him). To see Dooku as just some 'old man' shows how blind they truly are. Dooku is not to be trifled with.

At the end when Asajj says “I warned you“ she’s conveniently ignoring the fact that she was the one who let her guard down and allowed Dooku his opening. Ventress seemed to fall victim to her own overconfidence far too often. I guess it’s just as well we never saw her fight Sidious or Yoda. She’d never have stood a chance.

I've heard/read that force users can use the force to remove poison, Dooku have even done that before when in a comic Jango Fett shot a poison dart on him.
I just nom realised how Dooku never ventures in the 3v1, he always keeps one adversary at a distance (with Force Push or Lightning), or retreats if outnumbered (3 seems to be the "outnumber" for Dooku xD) which shows that he knows his duel strategics
He’s very intelligent Dooku specialises in the rare form 2 (Makashi) which is designed specifically for 1v1 combat but a glaring weakness of the style is because it was based on refined accurate strikes it could be overpowered and it’s defensive movements are not designed for multiple direction attacks. So he retreats when necessary and uses his free hand (most form 2 attacks are one handed) to use force abilities to negate a group attack It’s proof of form 2 mastery
I just noticed now that when the fight started he thought it was Jedi attacking him . But during the fight he realizes that it aren't Jedis because of how they attack and ventress fighting style. So what does he do with that new information? He wins the fight, that's why he tricked them at the end because he knew no Jedi would strike him when he got no weapon but because his opponent wasn't a Jedi his trick worked and they tried a final blow while letting their guard down. Brilliant writing, shows just how powerful and smart he really is 10/10

what I like about this fight is that it demonstrate the sheer level of discipline Dooku has. He is able to keep his composure fighting blinded and surprised with utter control. no rage, no passion guides this. He might be a sith lord but in his heart he fights them for most of this fight with the composure and control of a Jedi Master that he once was. Only when overwhelmed by three younger opponents does he tap his darkside points loose the raw power of a true Sith Lord on them. You could argue Dooku has blended elements of his life as a jedi master with his sith lord status. Though you could argue that in the process he has taken the worst of both worlds unto himself.
Honestly I don't even think he was overwhelmed. I think he just feigned being tired so that he could get the perfect opening to strike with lightning so they wouldn't even stand a chance of blocking. Using force lightning takes a lot out of someone yet right after he's finished using it, we see his breathing and movements are way more controlled then they were right before his Saber was knocked out of his hand.
Imagine pre suit Anakin with that much self control and balance of mind and body.

I love how unlike most fights in movies and tvs where it feels like the other characters are almost "taking their turns" to fight, all 3 nightsisters are trying to kill him at all times but they cannot land anything on him at all.
To be fair, there were times when they literally stood there and waited for the other night sister to attack, if Star Wars episode 3 didn’t come out before this show, dooku would’ve died here.

Greavous could beat Dooku, it just depends on what version of Greavous your thinking of, the cowardly one in clone wars and movie, or the merciless killing machine from EU. Dooku always had a hard time keeping him in line. Another thing, these nightsisters (exept Ventress) had little to no experience with this kind of combat. So Dooku holding his own was actually easier than it looks. Greavous however, can use 4-6 lightsabers at once and can hit his target *20 times per second* I doubt Dooku can keep up with that for long. The Greavous in the clone wars series however i agree stands no chance.
+Zach Perin Totally agree with you on the grounds that EU Grievous was a monster but you have to remember that the force plays a massive factor in a practitioners lightsaber skills, like in the Clone Wars (2003) Grievous and Dooku were having an intense sparring session with Grievous going all over the place including using his feet yet Dooku still managed to disarm him. Just my thoughts on the matter.

+Zach Perin you are forgetting something Dooku trained Grevious personally and since Dooku trained Grevious he knows how to exploit Grevious and his weakness
I love his fighting style of form two. You can tell he knows he’s best off not trying to fight all 3 at once (given form twos specialising in single combat) So at most opportunities he gets rid of one of the sisters while fighting two. And when he feels overwhelmed he doesn’t try to force his way out, he makes a tactical retreat to areas better suited for him.
You can see his mastery of Makashi, since most form 2 strikes are one handed based he uses his free hand to create distance to avoid putting himself in a stylistic disadvantage (as form 2 is best in 1v1 battles and suffers vs groups)
He did the same thing in ROTS when he used the force on Obi-wan.
Makashi being a duelling specific style also encourages tactical retreats as opposed to head on battles as it’s best used at mid range anyways in order to parry and poke through the opponents defence

I think its more likely that he salutes her not because he recognizes her, he didn't know it was her cuz if he did he wouldn't go to nightsisters(Ventress' people) for a new apprentice. I think he salutes there cuz in that brief fight until there he realized that the blue saber wielder is the best fighter among the three "jedi". He must have think Ventress is the jedi master and the others are padawan or sth.
I love that she returns the salute. I don't know if Dooku realized if it was Ventress, but he at least knows he's fighting a Form 2 (Makashi) user from that, which is his own specialization. So he definitely knows how to outclass his opponent.

I think it was more so that he knew he was fighting another Makashi user. Also, he was probably started having fun with the fight because he knew that, if they hadn’t been able to kill him by that point, they weren’t going to be able to. I imagine a fight to the death like this becomes easier to enjoy in the moment when you realize that your opponents don’t have the skill to beat you.

This fight is Dooku's most impressive showing in the entire franchise. Drugged, outnumbered, slowly weakening from the poison, and using a sabre style meant for single combat, and yet he still dominated the fight until the poison took its toll.
He could use force and trash them around anytime, but he still decides to fight with lightsaber because his duelist spirit doesnt allow him to not do that. He only uses force to end the battle once he is too weakened by poison to keep on fighting.
This man was half awake, drugged, WITH HIS EYES CLOSED and held his own in a 3 vs 1 and came out on top. This is why I love Count Dooku

Just realized that throughout the fight, dooku plays defensive testing each one to see who is force sensitive/isn't. At 2:12 he tries it and realizes that she basically has no ability at all so when she gets behind him later he doesn't worry about it. At 2:53 he tries to force push ventress and it doesn't work so he tries it to the last one at 3:03 and concludes that only ventress can really use the force. Dooku then baits then to the window so and fakes the poison so they will all go to attack them so he can shock them and throw em out the window. Based dooku

Its a plot point that he doesn't know it's her, he finds out much later, the reason for the smirk is that it's the poster child of the form makashi, of which dooku is considered the best user in the last 5000 years, when he learns that he's being combatted against his own form, he immediately realises that he still holds the advantage and now knows how to lure them into losing

One of the best things about the Clone Wars was that it showed you just how powerful Dooku was. Dooku was probably around the 4th most powerful being in the galaxy, he was the main villain of Clone Wars and they treated him as such. He was untouchable in this show, it was awesome.

Dooku is probably the finest bladesman in the entire galaxy at this point. Those few who can best him tend to do so because of their force advantages, not their dueling skills (for example, Yoda being a ping-pong ball in Ep II is something Dooku, an old man with much less power in the force, can't keep up with, despite his better technical bladework).
I cant tell if anyone else noticed this, but dookus blade ignition is a nod to his main character trait, his stride for perfection, perfectly centered on his face. When maul defeats pre visla, he ignites the blade off center, showing just how chaotic he is

Here's exactly how I think the prequels should've played out for perfection. Have Count Dooku be the main Sith and Darth Maul be his apprentice. Darth Sidious just killed Plaguies and now wants to establish himself as a Master and needs an apprentice, but Dooku and Maul complicate matters because of the Rule of Two and Sidious is by himself. This will give him ample reason to want Anakin as his apprentice. He could've then manipulated everything from the shadows till he seduced Anakin and then the two of them could've fought Dooku and Maul to be the only Sith. How awesome would that've been? A grand Sith Battle Royale
Ray Muniz That battle would have been absolutely breathtaking! Also, pointless characters like Jar Jar and Viceroy Nute Gunrey could have been ommited. With the surface of the Darth Jar Jar theory, people have started hating on Dooku for not seeing Jar Jar's reveal as the main villain at the end of Episode 2. Supposedly, Lucas wanted Jar Jar to be a villain but he chickened out due to fan backlash and replaced him with The Count(Thank God). If the prequels had been developed the way you suggested, then the story would be amazing, Lucas could have fleshed out all three villains(Dooku, Maul and Sidious) and he could have offered us a spectacular and epic in scale clash between The Sith in Episode 3. A pity indeed.

That doesn't make any sense at all - there was no indication that he knew it was Ventress. After Savage Opress brought dead King Kaatunko, Dooku was shocked to learn that Ventress was still alive. Also, if he knew, why would he say that Ventress was dead and the Jedi attacked him to Talzin when she offered him an apprentice - he knew of Talzin and Ventress' connection, and it would be foolhardy to play that dangerous game with Talzin.

I love the little detail of Dooku's eyes starting to glow, just for a brief moment, when he prepares to engage them to show that he's tapping into the Dark Side in order to sense them better and fight off the drug

Between his fairly brief but awesome appearances in AOTC and ROTS, and being basically the main villain of the Clone Wars show, and even getting a sympathetic backstory in Tales of the Jedi, Dooku is one of the most underrated Star Wars characters.

@@joeelliott2810 Dooku was almost ruined by The Clone Wars series - this arc was actually the only time he showed any of the nuance he had in AOTC and ROTS because he genuinely didn't want to kill Ventress - but Tales of the Jedi was the greatest portrayal of him since the Prequels, at least outside of the Expanded Universe. My only regret is that Christopher Lee wasn't alive to deliver one last hurrah. Corey Burton's "Let me give you peace, Master Yaddle" was chilling but the way he drew out the word "peace" made him just sound evil. Christopher Lee would have said it sorrowfully, like his regretful "I'm sorry, old friend" to Mace Windu.
The fact that the Battlefront 2 devs put this Dooku skin in the game over Bespin Luke or Clone Wars Maul makes me laugh and cry at the same time

Fun fact: Did you know that master of the force can use the force to clean poisons, and other debilitating effects from one's body while in meditation? In this case I can see and find acceptable dooku using the force to cleanse his body while fighting the three.
Dooku is a true master, so that isn't impossible, the fact that he fought two of the best nightsisters, and a dark jedi, and while poisoned, AND with his pijamas, makes him one of my most favorite sith lords .

Yep for all we know the Night Sisters we’re trying to outright poison him, only it was censored being a kids show or because Asasji wants to kill him fighting. Either way he was indeed healing himself as they fought
I love that despite having been blinded, his first move is to do a front flip into a strike on his opponent. Rather stay on the defensive he pushed and completely surprised his attackers. It was a great example Darkside dueling tactics and makes this one of my favorite duels in clone wars!

It is so satisfying to watch the sheer arrogance of the Nightsisters (and Ventriss) get shattered upon facing an enemy beyond their ability (not to mention that they drugged, blinded and outnumbered him). To see Dooku as just some 'old man' shows how blind they truly are.

At the end when Asajj says “I warned you“ she’s conveniently ignoring the fact that she was the one who let her guard down and allowed Dooku his opening. Ventress seemed to fall victim to her own overconfidence far too often. I guess it’s just as well we never saw her fight Sidious or Yoda. She’d never have stood a chance.
We did see her try with yoda … yoda disarmed her without even pulling his saber .

I've heard/read that force users can use the force to remove poison, Dooku have even done that before when in a comic Jango Fett shot a poison dart on him.

I just nom realised how Dooku never ventures in the 3v1, he always keeps one adversary at a distance (with Force Push or Lightning), or retreats if outnumbered (3 seems to be the "outnumber" for Dooku xD) which shows that he knows his duel strategics
He’s very intelligent
Dooku specialises in the rare form 2 (Makashi) which is designed specifically for 1v1 combat but a glaring weakness of the style is because it was based on refined accurate strikes it could be overpowered and it’s defensive movements are not designed for multiple direction attacks.
So he retreats when necessary and uses his free hand (most form 2 attacks are one handed) to use force abilities to negate a group attack
It’s proof of form 2 mastery
This scene is what truly made me realize how powerful Dooku is.
3:10 I love how he over exaggerates this strike almost telling ventress to force push him, just so he can yeet all 3 of them out of the window
I just noticed now that when the fight started he thought it was Jedi attacking him .
But during the fight he realizes that it aren't Jedis because of how they attack and ventress fighting style.
So what does he do with that new information?
He wins the fight, that's why he tricked them at the end because he knew no Jedi would strike him when he got no weapon but because his opponent wasn't a Jedi his trick worked and they tried a final blow while letting their guard down.
Brilliant writing, shows just how powerful and smart he really is 10/10
