    In short
2nd valve lowers pitch by 1/2 half step /semitone
1st valve lowers it by 2 half steps for one full step
3 valve lowers it by 3 half steps and also serves as alternate fingerings for anything that is 1 2
4th valve lowers pitch by 5 half steps so mainly alternate fingering for 1 3 and cal also serve in the pedal register as you demonstrated

I actually play a euphonium, but why does this one have 4 valves tho?

He’s originally a trumpet player so he probably reads the music in the treble clef. 1 and 3 is actually a C, but trumpet players call it a D. It’s because treble clef trumpet/euphonium is transposed down 2 half steps.

I just took a tuner and made sure that when I press 4th valve by itself, the note is in tune...
