- Greek street food tour in Athens, Greece - Today, I will take you on a street food tour in Athens in search of the best Greek street food in the city and we will go to the king of souvlaki.
To start our Greek street food tour in Athens, we went to have breakfast at a legendary place, Stani, that has been serving incredibly delicious Greek yogurt and more for almost a hundred years.
After that, we went to explore the crazy Central Municipal Athens Market and we found a very old restaurant that serves a unique dish, Patsa.
To continue our Greek street food tour in Athens, we found a local gem inside the market where we had meze with ouzo.
Right outside of the Central Municipal Athens Market, we found a local busy coffee shop where we had a classic Greek coffee.
Moving on with our Greek street food tour, we went to a 100-year-old taverna where they sell home-cooked Greek food.
As a dessert, we went to an iconic place that has been selling Greek loukoumdes for 100 years.
To end our Greek street food tour in Athens, we went to the king of souvlaki where we had the best souvlaki on our trip to Athens, Greece.

Stani is a nice shop, but you forgot to try galaktoboureko, a cream pie with syrup and cinamon, for which this particular shop is famous. The Ottomans came to Balkans last of all. Overmore all the Minor Asia is full of greek names for example Ismirk from Smyrna, Manisa from Magnisia etc. They were all greek cities. I am surprised that you liked Patsas (4:52). This dish you either love or hate it. It's unusual to see tourists to eat it, because of it's very strong flavor and unusual taste.
It's great after a long travel, being ill, or after a Greek nightclub (and eating Patsas in a restaurant, in the early morning before going back home). It has tons of proteins, collagen and healthy fats.
Whenever I eat it, I put extra garlic vinegar, red&black pepper and chili into the soup. It tastes, for me at least, phenomenal. You should have put a bit more that into your Patsa to make it tastier.

Patsas is eaten a lot by nightgoers after some drinking because the soup especially the collagen creates a protective layer inside your stomach and helps you digest the alcohol
