My go to pizza in Maryland is Ledo's, it originally opened in Adelphi, Maryland in 1955, and now guess what it's in NYC, when we'd go to NY walking around we'd laugh saying "Can you imagine if Ledo's came to NY, I wonder what New Yorkers would think", I don't know how "authentic" their pizza is but I like it, I always get mushrooms, green peppers, extra sauce, check it out tell me honestly what you think, if you don't like it I'll be bummed but I'll get over it
DOP looks dope (yes, pun intended), however seriously! Gotta step up your game if you're the "new kid" in town! On the subject of pizza, most folks believe that it is the dough/crust or the cheese or the sauce that makes a pizza. While these all do make a difference, there is one component that is THE MOST IMPORTANT for making a quality pizza. That would be the OVEN! The traditional Italian way is a wood or coal fired brick oven. The traditional NYC pizza uses a gas deck oven instead of a brick oven. Why you ask? If one were to place a couple of previously made slices into a brick oven instead of a gas deck oven, instead of "heating up" the slices, they would get scorched due to the extreme high temperature. Lastly, and place that serves pizza using an oversized toaster oven (conveyor) is an auto fail. All the corporate chains use the conveyor including some cheaply, indie owned pizza places because it doesn't take a skill (cheaper wages) for someone to simply plop down a raw pizza that will toast, not bake the pizza. Ya get what you pay for!
New York prices are crazy. These prices are x2 and sometimes x3. In EU like Belgium, NL, France you can get a croissant for €0,80 to €1,20 and a normal pizza for €4,5 to €6. I know that rent is high and people need to make money. I'm fully aware of the concept and economics. But it's just a so blatent rip-off in America, NY.
That taco place looked really good. And while Brooklyn has some really great pizza, I'm going to have to be biased here and say that Queens has the best pizza in the whole state.
Hey man how do you keep your shape with eating at all these great places? With all these great places to try out and eat in NYC do you and your wife cook meals at home or do you tend to do what most New Yorkers do eat all their meals out?

I had a shock last Sunday night, went to Karaoke @ a spot in Bed Sty, drinks were $18.00, people in UK would be shocked, they complain about £5 drinks, how can regular people afford to go out?!🤔🤑
I agree that DOP is good. I don't know how cheap it is, but you get so lost in the taste, the high quality ingredients, that you do not care about the price. DOP is worth a visit, for sure.
