Lived in Brooklyn my whole life. These three (four with L&B) are part of my life's story. They are some of the reasons I don't leave the city, no matter how horrendous it has become the last few years.

I used to go to these three in the early eighties. RNR was the go to place late at night. John’s had a special every day. The roast beef was Wednesday or Thursday. The meat and the gravy was kept hot and the fresh mozzarella would melt without going in the oven. But Brennan & Carr was my favorite. Double dip.

I went to Brennan and Carr today. Absolutely delicious! I had two Hot Roast Beef sandwiches (Dingle Dangle) style! The gravy was so flavorful and the meat was tender and delicious. It is all the way in Southern Brooklyn, but it’s worth taking 2 subway rides and a bus to eat this delicious sandwich!!

Hi, how are you? Another Lovely video about NYC, thank you so much. I enjoy watching your video’s about Brooklyn, Manhatten etc. I’m not from the USA but from Amsterdam, Netherlands. Did you know that Brooklyn is from Breukelen? NYC used to be Dutch, New Amsterdam. Anyway I love Brooklyn, Beautyfull architecture and I can see why you prefer living in Brooklyn rather than Manhatten. Roast Beef sandwich, you enjoy it😂too much gravy. I like broodje Rossbief dry. Anyway keep ‘em coming, the video’s. I liked the one about the blizzard. I kept watching because you have a soothing voice, it calmed me😂😝🙏

Roll n Roaster is an institution in Brooklyn! My mom and dad would go during high school in the 70s and now take me and my sister! Spumoni gardens is also a family favorite! Had my brothers birthday there! Amazing pizza and spumoni ices! There used to be a Brennan and Car in Rockville Centre that I loved but since it closed we have to make our way to Brooklyn (which we don't mind!).

I live 5 minutes away from Roll N Roaster. Eventhough they are famous for their roast beef sandwiches. They have great food as well.
I have gone to Roll N Roaster prior going to the Movies which is about a 10 minute walk. Sadly across the street there use to be a restaurant called Il Fornetto which had entertainment on Saturday Nights Pandemic came Land got bought out and rumor is condominiums are going up.

I think the roast beef flies under the radar because many cannot make it right: they either don't cook the beef tender enough or they cut it too thick for a sandwich. So because of that, most ppl go for the more famous sandwiches because they're "easier" to get right.

I remember going to Roll n' Roaster with my grandpa when he was still alive. Every few months, my dad and I go to Long Island to pick up my grandma and we'll make a stop through Brooklyn to get a roast beef n' cheez with cheez fried. They changed the fries from the circle cut to the chip cut but theyre still just as good as they used to be. Somethings never change and I hope to bring my kids there one day to share that experience with them too.

Spent 40 yrs of my life in Brooklyn. John’s deli was sold by original owners and it’s now owned by bunch of non Brooklyn hipsters. The old “Thank you subway crew” was the best. If u want “original” John’s deli visit his locations in New Dorp Staten Island and 13th Avenue in Dyker Heights. Roll ‘n roasters is awesome. If ur from Brooklyn u either a B&C fan or R&R.

Aww man - got me very hungry now! I like the Double Dip, u can just pick up & scarf down. Now I have to digress and get the grill going-
May not be as sumptuous as the roast beefs but it will do 😀
