Idea, materials in levels swap to another material in the same category as the original material. That way stuff like swinging sponges dont change into glass, rather a different fabric/sponge material.
I would like to know more about the internal workings of this game, like what language its written in, how .plan files work (syntax, ect), and reasonings behind certain glitches.
Even I don't completely understand a lot of things about LBP yet, but I can probably help you with some stuff. Like for example I know the game was written in C++/C and a custom language made by the developers for the game's script files, which is similar to C, and I've been reverse engineering plan files for a long time so I know some stuff about those files. As for glitches, it depends on the glitch but I might have some answers for that too.

@@DogeisCut The plan replacing thing is extremely simple and requires no knowledge of how plan files themselves actually work, its just swapping out the entire file for another, which happens to be an object. The infinite layer glitch I've heard conflicting info for, I'm not really the one to ask for that glitch, but the story I've heard most is that it was found by the introduction level in lbp1, which had the logo in the background, but honestly that doesn't seem likely to be true since its just one specific layer, but who knows.

Hello! Could you help me out? I'm using RCPS3 emulator. I think I did everything right but when I try to randomize it gives me this pop-up: "No data from randomizer; probably because seed broke syntax". Not sure what to do.
I gotta try this out. Sick. Do I need CFW? Also, is it possible to make community levels part of the randomized levels? I wouldn't think, but it would make the experience more unique every time.
You can either use RPCS3 emulator or do it on PS3 with custom firmware. And no, community levels in general wouldn't be possible, but "game of the year" levels are in the game's files and those are technically community levels, so I could include those in a different version of the script, along with dlc levels.
@@wd3zxxc023 theres a bug in the terrible oni level. the flame throwing cat doesnt shoot anything. making the level impossible to complete. and overlord isnt possible since create tools are locked until we complete the tutorials. the tutorials themselves cannot be completed because in the goodies bag tutorial, you need to place something that you do not have in your popit which makes it impossible to complete the game with this mod. (unless other mods are used)
@@sun5705 You only need to do one tutorial, popit cursor, and there's a cheat to skip tutorials in lbp1. Who is going to randomize their game to go create anyway? Wouldn't that be best without the randomizer? The point is to randomize the story mode. BTW if you read my pinned comment, I have fixed terrible oni.

You need either CFW to use ftp, or use the PS3 emulator RPCS3. The files you need to use and replace are in the directory of your LBP game, which is found in the dev_hdd0/game/ folder. The game folder will be called something like NPUA80472. In there you will file the blurayguids.map and brg_patch.map files inside the /USRDIR/output/ directory.

as soon as i started to randomize and replaced the .maps, and started the game, it INSTANTLY crashed (im on rpcs3)

Did you extract the .zip file? If not, extract it and try again

i am struggling to install the mod since i am confused on what it wants me to find, i know its the map files but i cant find it anywhere

@@Sckdisco1 brg_patch.map only exists if the game has been updated at least once, update your LBP and it should appear.
