    Usually, signature guitars are "too signature" and never "be your own" but this one (thanx to the EOB) is just a great tool/instrument for everyone without "look at me, look at me!" approach...

      I agree, I've never been big on wanting a signature model, but damn I want this one. I think Fender knocked it out of the park on this one. Fair price point too.

    The middle position gives you the fundamental tone + the octave. Not surprisingly, it probably needed tweaking to work right. My EOB needed some neck adjusting and assorted luthier love, at which time the sustainer pickup was found to be reverse grounded therefor sucking battery. (Nice work Fender factory boys!) BTW, there is a pot in the body cavity to adjust sustainer output too. That stuff done, this guitar friggin' kicks ass... my favorite ever. That fat 50s neck is amazing. And while Greg doesn't demo it, you can sustain whole chords and slide 'em around. Truly badass. All in all, I find this a really inspiring instrument.

      In order to Adjuste the neck you have to take the whole thinge off.. You did that by yourself?

    • @IvorThomas
      @IvorThomas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ronnysuarez3257 you can loosen strings a bunch, put a capo on to keep them tidy, then unscrew the neck to expose the truss rod. If action too high, clockwise. If fretting out or buzzing. Counterclockwise. 1/8 to 1/4 turn usually enough. Easy.

    I own this guitar. And I’ll never sell it. It requires proper set up, including dialling in the trim pots to get the sustainer exactly the way you want it. I don’t know how this dude managed to make that guitar sound this bad - I can only assume he’s not a fender fan because he couldn’t not give A.F!!
    This guitar is insanely versatile, and an awesome creative tool. This is NOT the review you should judge the e.o.b fender on. Check out the dude from Premier Guitar for a proper insight from a guy who doesn’t look like he sleeps under a bridge.
    What a tool. Why don’t you just demo tambourines and spoons and shit old man?

      another tidbit that is not commonly expressed when speaking of this guitar, is to get ANY sound, you must have a 9 volt battery. I thought the 9 volt is just for the sustainer, but nooooooo ... when the 9 volt goes out, so does every pickup. Just an FYI. Still a beautiful and useful guitar though!

    WEll, we wont find out if this guitar can do any hard rock chord tones in this video, as the player apparently does not understand this concept. But if you want smooth "lounge jazz" then this is your player.

    • @fastguitars4380
      @fastguitars4380 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lucasc5622 Actually "Hard rock" tones are humbuckers... This is why Heavy Metal or Hard Rock is a solid body guitar with humbuckers..... The exception would be Brian May or Jimmy Page, but, Brian puts his bridge and middle pickup in series, ... so that is a humbucker...... And Jimmy used a Tele and the LZ sound is not hard rock tones, as you would find with humbuckers.

    If someone can vouch if this is a full on strat I am gonna buy it this Christmas. Does it have a the usual strat neck pickup jangle, 4th position chime, 2nd position quack (like Sultans of Swing) and bridge pickup bite/twang for country? I am looking to buy this strictly for clean stuff and to play just one song using the sustainer (U2 WOWY) as I already have a Les Paul for more heavy work. Please don't recommend an Ebow as it's clumsy and I dont like Fernandes guitars. What I need is a full on Fender Strat that sounds like a usual strat with the sustainer system already installed.
