Thanks for such a detailed video. I went ahead and bought the animal ball 3 to replace my 2. But I am gonna fix this and have it as a backup.

You did miss one thing. at 10:37 you point to a screw hole in the red plastic tab. Mine had a small black phillips head screw in there. In my case this red tab had broken off and that was the reason for the repair. Just wanted to throw that out there for other people, not criticizing. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it saved me a LOT of time.

Same for me. Save the screw because the replacement part doesn’t include one. Awesome video BTW.

Great step by step tutorial. I think I could’ve gotten to the part but I don’t think I could’ve put it back together without the help.

Thank *YOU* for doing this vid. We live out in the sticks of Ontari-ari-ari-o and the nearest Dyson repair guy is two hours away. I was able to replace the hose in about two hours (albeit rewinding the video umpteen times ;-)! I ended up playing it at half speed which helped a lot. XLNT * * * * *

Thank you cbatilo, your video really helps. Your video in disassembling the parts was what I needed to fix my vacuum. After removing all the pet fur and hair. The brush was still not spinning, I needed to know how to get to the two pong and was able to tighten them for a tight contact. Work out great!

Loved the video. Worked perfectly. I do believe you referred to two screws as T8s and it confused me because they were T10s like the rest. Small potatoes. Awesome video!

Great video applies to the DC55 did mine first time both hose's only issue ,I had was the reassemble of the part where it connects to the brush assembly , was not aligned correctly not shown in video it slides up and down in a groove , you can't get the case to fit together, with that last screw!!

It started out as a deep cleaning of my Dyson. But while trying to clean internal hose, the red tab snapped off. Figured I'd have to buy a new vac or pay big bucks for a repair call. And then I found your video! Thanks for the detailed instructions that even this 67 yr old grandma could follow. (And thanks for telling what size star bit you were using - very helpful!) Now it's like I have a brand new vac with great suction. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Replaced the internal hose. Vacuum is working so much better except now the attachment hose has no suction at all. Usually there is some suction out of the top of the handle hose when vacuuming. There is nothing at all. Seems like there’s a switch or something that I’ve missed. Any tips or tricks?

Man, that thing is like the dumbest design ever way overly complex. for a vacuum cleaner. why does it need that big stupid ball for anyways?
