- Here's one that's more laid back, peaceful and expansive. Love the white noise generators on this thing. The loop and hold functionality on voices 4 and 5 are really handy, too. I used those to make the repeating siren noises about halfway through.
Okay, so I owned the Lyra and after making the most ridiculously fantastic noises, I sold it because I couldn’t make a tune with it. What you’ve shown here is that the Solar42 has a beating heart that wants to make a tune and still have that beautiful non conforming brain. I’ve ordered one in Maize Yellow. Great job man !!!
Hi 👋 did you yellow machine arrive or is it June/July when you get it?
I think I’m going to get one but will have to be in 2025
@@rickhopkinson hi Rick. June the 30th but that could change. Fingers crossed.
@@LesterH25 Oh I bet you’re very excited! I would be for sure. Will you be making any videos with it? 🙏🏻😋
@@rickhopkinson yeah can’t wait !! I’ll be making lots of videos Rick. 100%. Love your channel btw 👍🏼
@@LesterH25 Oh I bet you can’t… you’re going with Maise yellow too aren’t you. I love yellow in general and I’m tempted to go the yellow route too next year but currently liking the black… who knows, I’ll probably change my mind between now and then. Right I’ll look forward to what you make with it and I’ll check out more on your channel now… I’ve already subbed too 👌
Thank you very much for checking out mine mate I appreciate it and I’m genuinely very glad you’re liking it.
Absolutely incredible. I’m sitting here on my balcony with a cup of coffee and it just put me in a lovely trance to start the week with. Great work!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Sooo Nice! I found myself in vast Mongolian grassland alone!
Amazing sounds g!!!!
That is an incredible instrument. Thanks for sharing!
This video is making me want to get one of these. Better start saving!
The earth tone sweater really adds an element of quiet serenity. Luxurious, yet simple.
Please shut up , synth soy boy power bottom
Just got one this week and jams are already so much fun - lots to explore! Great video / music! Cheers.
Dope, have fun with it! Would love to hear a jam if you're up to posting one.
Amazing performance. You definitely have a talent for this, and the 42 brings it out. I was wondering if one could transpose the whole dronebed to a different key with the six keyboard buttons on the right. I was kind of waiting for that big shift :).
Thanks for the kind words! It's been really fun exploring this instrument and sharing. Love the idea for a key change. Those keys only activate each drone voice, but you can definitely tune the voices to different chords and keys and achieve that effect, then it's only a couple of button presses to return the keybed. Will have to experiment with that!
quite lovely!
1:40 sounds like you and this instrument got in a time machine back to 1977 to play on Steve Miller Band's Jet Airliner intro.
It’s beautiful; thank you for uploading
Ich spüre die Musik an meinem intimsten Ort.....geil
Wow! To the performance and the synth! simply wow 🙂
damn that was nice, real close your eyes stuff..
Thanks for the kind words!
Loved this. I could not help but think..... how cool would it be if it had a global tune so that the drones that are there droning the same for the whole 10 minutes... could be dropped a fifth... then up a step... then back to the original as an example.
Great jams, enjoying watching how you’re using the 42. As a Lyra-8 user (and potential Solar 42 buyer), I’m curious to hear your observations on how the two compare (and differ) in terms of their effectiveness as a live performance tool. It seems like it would open up a lot of options performing live, curious about any observations or potential drawbacks you perceive.
Thank you! There's definitely some overlap between the too, but wow the Solar has a depth to it that I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of.
beautiful piece of music
Thank you ❤️
let's goooo best instrument ever
okay I def want one!
what a healing performance
This machine just begs to be played. How I would love to set it up in my studio! But watching you play it is great as well, so I subscribed.
Thanks so much!
Very nice! Want more like this :)
I've got one too! (a green Lyra 🤣)
Fab - lovely
Listened to this around 5:30PM with a beautiful sunset going on outside.
IT WAS BLISS. Good stuff
Hey Uncle Tony ....have you sussed if there is a way to for the controllers on the effectors to control only one of the dual effects at a time ?
Do you release your music? This song is incredible.
Like the sun rising over a field
Good job! I have one of the presales. It's difficult to get everything in tune!
i recently ordered one and now waiting for it to arrive, i got a question to you tho... does it come waterproof? cuz i might be crying all over it
beautiful perfomance!
💜
2 great ambient machines side by side here which one do you like More?
Lately I've been preferring the Solar 42 but the Lyra is such an incredible instrument as well.
Curious question since there is no midi how is this staying locked to a scale? Because it looks like the keybed is currently locked to a scale?
Yup! No MIDI but the key bed has a digital brain with some smart options for the key center, scales and tuning and much more. It's so handy and makes things much more musical.
Thanks for the response man!! and love the jam! @@uncletonysfunhouse
You can hear the same sounds with Predator 3 !!!!
I heard the wind rustling the grasses!
Cadê a música?
Almost... lol, just kidding! Great job 🙂
Nice vid. Does it play well with the Lyra or for that matter any other instrument? It sounds beautiful on its own, but since I have a Lyra and a couple of "traditional" synths, I'm hesitating...
Thanks! Great question. That's TBD. I'm experimenting with incorporating those two into my music making workflow. My latest vid pairs the Solar with my Korg Prologue, that worked well. I think it's possible for them to work together, but they're both particular and opinionated so probably require some finesse. We'll see.
@@uncletonysfunhouse thanks for the response, I'll keep watching

I could be wrong……I could be …….right
This instrument looks so difficult to use. Absolutely amazing sounds ✌️
Haha, it does look pretty insane right? I felt so overwhelmed when I first unboxed it and hooked it up. Its surprisingly intuitive once you dive in.
Such an amateur… professionals don’t use only 3 patch cables
It takes about two minutes for you to reach an acceptable audiolevel, such a pity.
Otherwise: great use of all tonal options!
I found the build up to level "extended fade in" quite nice
