So glad to have a mecha musume enthusiast on the Mecha Warehouse team! I was never interested in them before until I got a Figure-Rise Standard Ayame to go with some of my Petit'gguy and I was hooked after that, now my girlpla backlog is about the same or if not bigger than my gunpla backlog. 😅
I would like to add the Chitocerium line, distributed by Good Smile company They have some of the most unique visuals of this genre and is what im starting with
I like many of the designs of the mecha girl kits, especially the ones that incorporate some of the old lore and zodiac things like Amaterasu, Nine Tails and the like. I find the thing that stops me most of the time is the pricing and not being sure if I want to drop the cost of a large MG into something I'm not sure I'll enjoy. I really appreciate this primer for trying to relate them to the gunpla I already know and that there's quite a bit that you get for the money in terms of extra parts and accessories. The discord channel has been a good resource, but maybe a follow up video on specific kit recommendations for beginner/inter/advanced?
Great informative video Patrick! This definitely will help me as I expand my model building into some of the Mecha girl kits. I would be interested in seeing how you utilize the option body parts sets from 30 min sisters to swap from a base build to a more custom build with the extra option parts.
Very cool seeing more of Patrick. That Machao motorcycle is one of the sickest bikes I've seen! This video makes me wish I would've tried for the Redacted box. I was afraid it was a Mecha musume and i wouldn't like it, but they look pretty cool now that i know what they are.
After having built the MS General Gluttony, I think I have found a real favorite. Solid and good looking alongside a lot of bang for your buck with a size that felt just right. Nuke Matrix meanwhile felt a little bit too fiddly and brittle for my tastes, often coming across as too complex for it's own good. Have yet yo try 30MS but I have one waiting in order so we will see how I like that one.
out of all of them, the 30ms in my opinion is the most sturdy and flexible. also has the most option parts and is cost friendly(minus the hair parts but you could always paint them)
Ah heck yeah. Gundams are dope, but the amount of character these kits have are what sold me on them. Definitely a lot more personality to them. Not saying theyre better, but an awesome change of pace if other plamo is getting stale.
Currently working on two versions of the Sitara. One "standard" scale and the other being a mini desktop army scale and I'm dreading the moment I have to finish the standard scale. Overall That Amaterasu kit looks amazing and will be wanting to get my hands on a copy of it especially those robo animal girls at the end
Nice work man!! You know what I noiced?? There is literally NOOO shirts with mecha girls on it anywhere ...like literally no one is making them...i bet if someone prints mecha girl t-shirts he will make a a lot of money as he will have a monopoly over the product
If there's 1 thing I absolutely hate about mecha musume it's the feet. Either the design is so impractical that even standing is a challenge, or the design is so ridiculous that it's impossible to fit a normal foot there, so you're forced to think they're cyborgs rather than armored girls. That's why I've recently been looking for kits with relatively normal foot design.
These kits look great, but i have daughters and I don't want them to think they have to look like these kits. It may be a teachable moment to tell them that these are fake and that they only portray an "ideal" body that they don't have to be, but they are so little that they wouldn't think to ask the question and so it may unfortunately become a subliminal message. Also avoid my daughters thinking that their father can admire anyone or thing other than their Mother.
Megami device has optional chests that are toned way back if you like a kit that's a bit much. If you're a painter, you can turn skin into suits. My last kit only had skin showing on her face.
@@d9_1056 I have 1 Spinatio 30missions model (assassin Type) and I am much more comfortable with a fully mecha design girl, my kids recognize it as a robot girl so there is no confusion.
@@rob0t11 I don't know if you have kids, but the reality is it is that deep, their world is as big as the parents make it and you have to be careful on what you place in their world so you can ease them into the reality of what else can be observed and limit as many mistakes as possible. You don't want to start the game playing a level 12 boss when you only have the tools of a level 1 player, there are steps to positive progression and failure is not an option.
Megami device FTW
Thanks dolfo!

We'll keep that in mind

30 minute sisters are excellent kits with very low asking prices.

What's a good kit? if I'm gonna start building that series of model kits
Anything 30 Minute Sisters are good entry points into the genre.
Do bootlegs of mecha musume kits exist? Do you have any tips on identifying them, because at least gunpla bootlegs are a bit more honest.
what kit is that 5:42
That is the Frame Arms Girl - Yinghu Shadow Tiger
Bleed!? Pfft! I traded my left leg for this hobby!
Executioner bride's knee pad got me.
lol

Cool story, Bro.
