I love how you’ve immersed yourself in your Chinese culture - it really shows through the food you eat☺️ I just feel ashamed because I’m Chinese too and I live in a Southeast Asian country - but I never really took the time to appreciate my mother tongue and its culture. You’ve really inspired me to learn more about my roots☺️🙏🏼❤️
As a fellow Southeast Asian with Indonesian/Indian/Egyptian/Dutch background, I used to be ashamed of my culture too. But I have been slowly learning and I have come to love ethnic background as I grow up and I hope you can be like that too
same. south-east asian chinese here too. what more my parents are mainland Chinese immigrants, so i should be more immersed in the culture. but i didn’t appreciate the language or the culture, and i squandered a good opportunity growing up :( leah has really inspired me to get in touch with my Chinese heritage again, and i’m sure as hell going to get my accent back (disappeared after years of lazy pronunciation and speaking english) and take my mandarin abilities to new heights! here’s to fluent chinese and a greater connection and pride to my roots 😚

Vegan Asian food is the best food there is, the number of variations of tofu, bean curd, gluten, seitan, etc is truly astounding and all of them are delicious. Celebrating my second vegan holiday season with my Asian family has been amazing 🌱
Thank you for making videos like this! Growing up in the US I didn’t have ANY Chinese friends! You inspired me to embrace my Chinese culture and reminded me the importance of learning to speak Chinese again! I just got in touch with one of my cousins in China that I haven’t talked to in years. So thank you and please continue making videos like these! 😊
aww the interactions with your grandmother are so wholesome,, made me miss my asian grandmother so much >< she died in taiwan last year in september ;-; also loved seeing your fam's Chinese ver of Christmas,, i'm half taiwanese and wish my family was more involved in that side of my culture~~ i'm so proud of my asian heritage ♡
honestly, thank you so much for making life a bit more bearable. there’s so much crap going and life is bonkers. you truly are my inspiration for youtube, life, and mindset. you have taught me emotional lessons and concrete things. know that you are making so many people’s life so much better and i wish that everything that you want in life you will get and succeed in. thank you))
Leah, finding your channel in 2020 was such a gift for me. I'm Chinese and grew up in a part of Canada where it was really hard to come by other Chinese immigrant kids to relate to, so I really distanced myself from that part of me because being Chinese was something that made me feel weird and too different from my peers. As an adult I've come to appreciate so many parts of my identity and finding your channel has helped me with that so much in unearthing the things I found so cool but never fully explored. Seeing you enjoy all of these foods that I used to and still eat every day is so heartwarming. I appreciate your content so much and wish you the best that 2021 has to offer 💖
Leah has influenced me in the same way! Finding her channel was so nice since I didn’t grow up with Chinese friends and lived in a small town in the US. I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels this way about her videos!
Love you, the food looks DELICIOUS🥴I’ve had a severe dairy allergy all my life and I’ve been buying mostly seafood and occasional white meat for a while in efforts to live a cleaner and carbon friendly lifestyle, and this channel is super awesome for me, there is amazing food that doesn’t need animal products!
That was quite a funny moment when Leah said "Guten Morgen". It's only a few minutes after midnight and I felt very awake for a second here in Germany 😂 But besides that, I loved the video, you gave me so much hope that I can be as joyful and enjoying and relaxed with food one day, too.
Your grandma is soooo sweet and beautiful literally brought tears to my eyes ♡ Beautiful way to start my day !! Love your videos so much, I'm so glad I discovered your channel.
I stumbled upon your videos accidentally and I have been binge watching all your videos 😊 Your love and attitude towards your grandma is really so precious 😍 Sending love and hugs from Singapore 😊
I think another wonderful thing about this kind of content is it gives Chinese Americans/Canadians a platform and representation, even if perhaps its just a glimpse into your natural life. I'm Chinese American and this lovely vlog about the food and conversation and family makes me feel more like I am not so different or alone. Growing up I never read books/saw anything on big media platforms about people's lives that were like mine, so I love this content. Thanks for bringing so much peace into my life
Your eating videos, especially this one, are my comfort vids. I come back to them every time I need some comforting energy to help with social media anxiety.
It is such a pleasant journey to watch your video. Your grandma has her kids and grandkids around, what a wonderful accompany. Albeit leaving home country, your family seems to be adapted to the local life pretty well. Hope all of your member well!
Your videos literally make me cry sometimes from the pure wholesomeness... your grandma is the sweetest, and the little walk you two had made me realise that I should spend more time with mine ! ❤️ Ly Leah and I hope 2021 brings you happiness and new exciting opportunities xx
The last part really made me nostalgic and sad, I wasn't able to spend the holidays with my cousins and grandma because of pandemic restrictions in my country, I miss them so much. So much delicious food, now I am hungry.
ahhh this is so sweet and i love this video so much! i like how quick you speak as i don’t get to hear a lot of natural conversations in chinese. it’s also very nice how quickly you switch from english to chinese - since i am very bad at switching quickly and this is great practice. the food looks great and your family is so sweet! thank you for making these videos ♡♡♡
hey Leah, I want to learn mandarin this year. I'm so cofused by where to start, of course I watched bunch of youtube videos and have used apps to study, but it is still not very efficient somehow. I really enjoyed you talking in chinese and adding eng sub in this video. If you could maybe do a constructive video on who to learn chinese, it would be really helpful! Much love xx

hii!! i’m somali american and the food we make contains a lot of oil, which i’m learning to cut down on. i’m now starting to gain a happier relationship with food in a healthier way, because it makes me happy to eat healthy. these videos help me out a lot because it motivates me, thank you! i love your videos!
I love seeing so many vegan asian recipes, growing up chinese - I've always had a hard time getting away from pork and meat, so I really appreciate this
seeing this makes me feel so happy but yet so anxious bc whenever I see my family in Cambodia I can’t speak to them since I don’t know Khmer AHA but seeing your family be so loving and eating together makes me so happy and a bit jealous! Watching this makes me feel a lil less lonely as the one of the only Asian families in my area🥺 watching your videos is just like a visit to your cool cousin’s house
This was so sweet and lovely to watch! I'm so inspired by your creativity and skill in the kitchen and elsewhere! I also thought it was so sweet how kind and supportive and playful you were of your younger self when you were going through old stuff. I didn't even know you but I bet you would have been so cool!
Hi there leah! You mention your journal in some videos so I'd love some tips for starters, how to find topics, how to not abandon it in a week and what in your opinion journaling is all about.
Aww I always have huo guo with my relatives on christmas eve but couldn't this year cause of covid-- this made me realize how much I miss all of them :,). Crossing my fingers for 2021 holidays!
