I love that you see how good and important Bobbie's arc is in this season... A lot of reactors have not cared for her part of the story in season 4. She is developing so much, and it is truly sad to see how she's being treated by the people and planet she has given everything to protect ❤

Loving your reactions and post-episode analysis. I love Bobby's story here, even though it seems a lot of people don't. I love how The Investigator parrots Miller's line to Holden about "what does rain taste like?" as he did back on Eros. And yes, good sci-fi will always shine a reflection on real life and this show does it SO SO SO well. I think you'd love Babylon 5 if you've not seen it before. Does the same thing with politics, character arcs and space stuffs.

The blasting cap was found on the landing pad on the ground so it was definitely someone in the camp who planted it. Murtry's suspicions are 100% justified and, as chief of security for the expedition, he carries the weight of responsibility for the safety of all RCA staff, including those who were killed and those still alive. His reaction isn't completely out of line as a trauma response. Like a wounded dog that was ready to bite.. and now it has the taste of blood in its mouth.

That is true, but also the reaction of the Belters isn't out of line either. They're wounded just as much as he is, and with thousands of cuts thanks to generations of Inner oppression. They know Earth is here to take their new home from them. So to them, this is a justified act of defending their home.

The Investigator didn't know what would happen. It said that it's just flipping switches, it doesn't know what any of it does. It's investigating.

Murtry is the personification of capitalism. Imagine setting foot on an alien habitable planet for the first time and your main concern is doing dirty work for the company that you work in the hopes of a fat commission

This is my favorite show and it is worth the emotional toll but take it at whatever pace feels safe for you. The links to current events are going to continue to be present so just be kind to yourself!

Amos didn’t visit Earth but stayed in orbit on the Roci. But he seems quite at home on the frontier, trading bullets for booze. I guess it's not a leap to imagine him as a gunslinger in an old western. He just needs to dress the part with a hat, pancho and a cigar.

Bobbie looks so cute in her "formal" clothes! It makes it easy to forget that she could murder the fuck out of you with one hand tied behind her back!!! I tell you what, Bobbie's nephew is never going to look at her the same way again after this episode!!!🤣
Also, Amos totally has "pyschopath" radar, and Murtry is most DEFINITELY on it.
And this season is an amazing depiction of why fucking around with planets with 2 billion year old technology created by a long-dead god-like alien species is a VERY BAD IDEA.
Can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of this season!

Don't piss off Aunt Bobbie!! She got the tough love. 😂 Thanks for your heartfelt reactions. The show does a great job introducing Marco Inaros and the actor, Keon Alexander, plays him brilliantly. Burn Gorman -- who plays Morty, Murty, MURTRY! -- is known for playing villains. In an upcoming episode he gets a very meta line of dialogue about it.

The Expanse And Halo both take inspiration from the classic sci-fi trope of "ancient technology" pioneered by Frederick Pohl in the Gateway series.

They had to recast Arjun, Avasarala's husband. The previous actor, Brian George, got another gig because he was no longer on contract, then the series got cancelled. Few people liked the recast. No disrespect to the actor...he's just a jarringly different personality for the war.
When Bobbie introduced herself to the two Martian officers at the dinner, they gave her a cold shoulder and said she was the one who got the team on Ganymede killed. So, that's the scuttlebutt the Martian navy passed around about her. Martians are petty.
No way you can remember, but 'way back when Lt Lopez was interrogating out team, he displayed Naomi's background on a screen. It mentioned that Marco Inaros was one of her past associates, which was why the Martians connected her to the OPA.
There was a minor question about why Bobbie decided to follow her nephew. At the beginning of the episode, we saw Bobbie going to work. The blonde woman, Lele, rushed across the screen. You noticed that Bobbie saw her, but that zoomed by a lot of people. You're right, when Bobbie got hauled in for questioning about the murder. So, when her nephew took off claiming a study date, Bobbie was suspicious of the woman he was hanging with.

murtry is less of a nazi and more of like amos if amos was trust into a position of leadership without some one like holden or naomi to guide him morally. he only really knows one way to solve problems. he has certain orders, and he will carry out those orders in the only way he knows how : p

If you want a cathartic cry, watch Station Eleven. It's not a great one for reaction videos but is a great post-apocalyptic show about the importance of art, acting and found family in overcoming trauma.

It's almost as bad as a Nazi! It's a Company Man. He seems to be right, though. Someone set off a bomb at the landing pad, and that Belter did threaten him. Burn Gorman plays a lot of villains - he was the leader of the mutinous Nights Watch group in Game of Thrones, he was an evil suit guy in The Dark Knight Rises, but he's also been a funny scientist in Pacific Rim, and is well know for his long-term role in Torchwood, the Dr Who spinoff. I've not seen it, but I assume he's a good guy.
Arjun Avasarala was recast, as after the Expanse was cancelled by Syfy at the end of Season 3, a lot of the actors in smaller roles found other work.
What is happening on Mars? Why are there so many people without jobs?
I love your perspective on Naomi, she often doesn't get the love she needs from viewers. My favourite character from The Expanse tends to be whoever is on screen at the moment, but Naomi is really underrated.

FWIW, Mass Effect and The Expsnse both borrowed heavily from Fredrick Pohl's Gateway and Heechee saga. The Expsnse is very much an homage to the "new wave" print scifi of the 60s and 70s.

I think that Avasarala inviting Bobbie is both a political statement and a stand for Avasarala. I think it did cost her some politically. There's not much to be gained for her by embracing Martians. For a politician like Crisjen, I'm not sure there is a real distinction between personal and political.

I'm in the middle of my first ME: Andromeda playthrough. Something about this game doesn't sit well with me though. After about 30 minutes of playing I get horrible motion sickness. Never happened to me with the first 3 Mass Effect games.
