I like this channel restoring to a usable state rather than those channels that have to fix every little flaw and polish to a mirror finish. Much more practical. 👍👍👍
My thoughts too. I've watched many other channels making an unnecessary show of polishing all possible parts to a mirror shine. Especially hardware! Other channels have misunderstood the word 'restoration' to mean 'improvisation'. The original product did not have flawless mirror-finished parts, to begin with. So why make a spectacle of close-up slow-motion shots of mirror polishing and showing it off? It's not that mirror polishing is some rare skill. These are items of daily use and not some display in a museum.
I don't understand why people don't care for the tools they buy.I bought a cordless drill from the scrap dealer for about 1.5 dollars.and I fixed it at home now it works.your videos inspire me thank you.😊
you could. this hobby is for anybody. it's more about knowledge and logic and trial and error than genetic gift. get some evaporust or start by learning and experimenting with rust removal through electrolysis. or you could start just by taking apart and cleaning up a remote, toy, computer, etc. don't be afraid to get some of stuff that's broken and break it more. you should try some of this for yourself!
Finally, a restoration video that does just that - restoration. I am sick of watching other restoration channels that go to great effort on mirror-polishing even mundane parts like hardware, obviously to create visual impact. Those are more 'improvisation' channels.
I love taking older power tools that are not working and refurbishing them. I have yet to get one that couldn't be repaired and made to function like new. Nice video and keep on refurbish power tools. Not only enjoyable, but keeps it from the landfills too...
This is surprisingly satisfying. Not a full on auto-chrome everything. But a fix it working man’s tool resto. And it was surprising to see how well that grease kept the planetary and anvil in nice shape when there was clearly water inside there. Whilst the rest of the tool took a literal beating. EDIT: Makes me want to take my 7 DeWalt impacts apart and check/re-grease the anvil/drive assembly.
What always amazes me in these things is how all of you guys that do this can remain silent. I understand that some things can be edited out, but I know that I'd be making a running commentary of "What the bloody $!-# did they do to this thing?!" Nice job on the restore. That thing was a mess.
Of all the restore videos Ive watched this would be the most honest I have seen. Most are just cleaning something that has been made to look dirty etc but thing has real rust etc and is far more like one would expect in trying to repair an old rusting tool.
I fix everything I own that breaks. No one around me gets it, most think I'm stupid. Found a car tire inflator on the side of the road, been there for a while, but I brought it home and did just this same process. Now I own a tire inflator, cost $0. Guess I'm stupid for not just giving a corporation my hard earned slave wage for new one. TV programming has destroyed this planet...

Can I ask where you find your old and worn tools in need of restoration? I enjoy these projects myself and finding good deal on a fixable tool seems like a great way to fill my tool chest and is something to take pride in
Beautiful job, especially the new rechargeable Li-ion power source. It appeared to have been a very well-made piece originally. Any idea how old it is? Originally it was DC 12v powered (sold in Europe?)
Since it has Ni-MH (not Ni-Cd already) I presume it was made something between 1995 and 2005. Now it's repacked with Li-Ion and I do the same with my old tools.
brilliant work. I have the same machine, and it still works, but I would like to upgrade to Li-Ion, where can I get the batteries, circuit and charger from? Thanks
Too bad it's not an Oil Pulse Driver. I wonder why Hitachi stopped making those? They were the ones who basically perfected the hydraulic impact driver.
Was this one of those "restorations" where the item was destroyed on purpose just so a video could be made? The thing literally had water inside of it dripping out.
Those are rainwater, and the water doesn't dissolve in lubricating oil, so it looks clear. Not destroyed on purpose. I can post photo of the driver on the auction site. as proof.
@@repairrestoration4232 - Ok, I can fully see someone left it outside for an unknown amount of time, figured someone will buy it, and just posted it up for sale. A leaky roof, left in the bed of a truck, who knows. Great job on turning what would of been landfill e-waste back into a usable tool.
I find old used dentures in the ocean, I just use the wire wheel and some brasso to make them shiny as new again. Old people love getting dentures for a cheap price!

@@UlyssesDrax - Are you having an excellent one?
By the way, what's it with me having a bad year and mirror polish on hardware?
Very surprised that you were able to save that motor and the stator was okay. I didn't think it would come back. Good work
At first I thought it was a brushless motor until I saw the brushes being removed.
what was the white powder you use to clean the motor with

I thought Makita is making weird awesome looking cool tools, but this one hits the roof!
Nice work! Good to see it alive again. Don't forget that rust remover will also remove rust stains from plastics too ;)

Откуда такие запасы старого утопленного инструмента? С Фукусимы?
Да что вы, бросьте. Видно же, что свеже угашеный инструмент, который сам автор, скорее всего, и ушатал. А потом типа отреставрировал для просмотров.
Bra jobbat 👌 blev snyggt
Great work..I enjoyed watching your video ..

Have you got the 3s circuit diagram wrong? I think P- is power to drill and C- is power in from charger.

Nice work as usual! By the way I’m going to be 53 years old next month. Do you think if I shipped myself in a box to you could restore me?

Don't use super glue. It's hard to remove. U can use b7000 resin or something like that. It's waterproof and easer to remove with heat
