    £2200 is what i paid at the beginning of 2021 for complete rebuild plus labour Rob. That was cylinder kit, crank carb clutch etc kit was the 198 imola. Prices are going to go through the roof for those still in business in 2023. Anyway, mate, happy new year to you and yours bud.

    Hi Rob. I've got a Suzuki RM125 clutch, converted to fit on a 46 tooth crownwheel. The standard RM setup is 7 plate, but mine has 5 plate to fit the casing. It works very well and is light to pull.

    Good video, surprised your mate didn't stick with the standard lump, the TV175 is a sweet engine with decent performance. All the best for 2023 ;)

    • @kickbackgarage

      Tv175's don't pull up our mountains. You end up just revving the tits off them in 2nd and 3rd. There is no way a TV will keep up with a px, which is what his rally going mates have.

    I like the Casa multi splined layshaft and octopus hub.
    Doing away with the cone is a step forward and when I’m hammering down the motorway I know the rear hub will not be parting company.

    Happy New Year Rob, not that expensive? Indian ignition i would say a no no (sip vape) but looks good, i've just done a build 240 monza, gt casing and engine block with a few casa bits, rear hub front sprocket and casa clutch which will need thinner gear oil 10/30 Darrel Taylor crank 62 x 110 + 5 speed AF, hope the build goes well, will be great to watch it being built. Once again happy new year to you and the family, keep your chin and see you next year TTFN

    The only major non-reliable bits on my aging TS1 Annhilator has been the clutch, aside from the 4 plate I used to run with Lambro center spring. But my hands really couldn't continue with that setup, so it's been try this 5 plate or that one. I've given up and am installing an LTH clutch next month. I have of course had to install new rings, pistons and reeds from time to time, but the engine has been together since 2003 requiring only one main bearings and seals replacement so far. Happy New Year!

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The original clutch the weakest bit. I had the same problem in my ts1's. Stronger springs, center springs and painful fingers 🤣

    Hi Rob Happy New Year! I have seen loads of videos on TH-cam about setting the timing on a Lambretta and they just tell you how to find top dead centre and 17 degrees but none of them explain about moving the stator to the correct position.I am still running 6v points and I would be grateful if you could do a video on it.

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the thing. Once you have found 17 degrees, mark the flywheel and maghouse, start the scooter and strobe it. If the flywheel mark is further to the right than the maghouse mark then you need to take off the flywheel and move it anti-clockwise, bolt it all down and strobe again until both marks line up.

    Will you be using the circling/spring to hold the clutch together? Ive been told they can come off and ruin the drivetrain

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's bullshit. It's a vespa plunger and they don't fail. If they do, then they have been fit wrong. On the other hand, you don't need the spring clip because once the sidecase is on, it can't fall out. So that's means that I use them but in theory you don't have to. 🙈
