    I've always appreciated your choice: Simple, versatile, classic, and no-brainer. I tried to start my wardrobe journey since college but always got overwhelmed by all the recommendations from the internet, ending up spending a lot of wasted money. I love how your "essentials" are actually essential, which helps beginners not overthinking and overspending on clothes imo

    As a university student, this is definitely one of the best "dressier" capsule wardrobes that I have seen. I would change out a couple of pieces to better fit my personal preferences and colouring and add a white poplin shirt and solid tie for a full suit look, but I can see myself wearing everything in this video and being able to build this wardrobe over the course of a year or two. Wonderful advice, thank you!

    I'm liking these capsule videos. Not only does it show the versatility of great basics, but I think it reminds us that simple outfits can look great. I like look no. 3 for that reason. The light grey flannel sport coat is so simple but will always look great. And the patterns on the shirt and tie show that pieces don't need to grab one's attention to be effective. Thanks, as always, Brian.

    Great looks Brian! Working in a school environment, my go to is chinos+dress shoes/boots+dress shirt(+sweater in fall/winter). If there is a school board meeting or a more formal event, I swap chinos for dress pants, crew-neck sweater for a v-neck and a tie.

    The lights grey jacket and demon shirt you’re wearing while talking to camera is an excellent match of visual texture. I didn’t see the appear of the denim shirt for a long time. Now a fine denim shirt is one of my favourite shirts. It’s easily dressed up or down.

    For the past 10 years or so I've followed several mens style/grooming channels. As I got older, I realized most of the mainstream 1m+ channels were just not for me; and I was a dedicated viewer for so long. The over-the-top loud online personalities and sponsorships that took up half a video really got to me. Not to mention the legitimately terrible fashion advice.
    I just started a new job working for the state and I've got to say; your channel and The Modest Man have been a breath of fresh air. I've been mostly a workwear kind of dude but the change in my environment called for a workplace rebrand. Thanks for all you do man. This channel provides some great content and insight.

    Did I ever mention I like your shoe game? Those Oxfords look incredible.
    Outfit #1 was my go-to to work. I did prefer a light-blue pocket square though, it felt better in my eyes.
    A great ensamble, I really like the pieces layering a button-up shirt with a sweater, it's versatile enough to be great for the office, a meeting, yet also not "too much" for most daily activities.
    Cheers!

    Business casual is my favorite dress style. There are tons of option/layer/style you can play in this range. Shirt, plain sweater and kaki or chino with dress shoes or boots in winter is what I wear everyday at the office and that's more formal than 90% of what my coworker wear. If I got a meeting just take off the knitwear and than put a nice sport jacket and you're ready to go. If I should go on field (construction site) just but heavier chino or dark jeans and you're set (with all the safety equipment of course).

    Great video. The dark RR selvedge denim in Outfit 7 (4:40) you are wearing with boots. Is this the same pair you wear cuffed in other videos? Curious to know how to determine the correct length to purchase if using the same pair both ways. Purchasing 'long', will they be too short to show the edge when rolled?

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on how old the video is you're referring to. I ordered these long to be able to roll, but then had them tailored so I didn't have to roll them anymore and could get some more versatility out of them. I will occasionally just roll up the bottom hem depending on the situation.

    Would a good fitting shirt jacket/overshirt be a good altenative to a blazer or sport coat for smart casual/business casual? What’s the difference between smart and business casual? Can you pleae give outfit ideas on the much more casual business casual wardobe like in tech and creative companies where i work in and never ever worn a suit? Am I wrong think the navy chinos is redundant to the trousers of the hopsack suit?

    • @hespokestyle
      @hespokestyle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're a bit wrong. Having odd trousers, as they're called, is better for more combinations. If your pants are the same fabric as your jacket, that's called a suit. I don't work in either of those industries, so it is impossible for me to know what is acceptable or not.

      @@hespokestyle i mean, swap the navy chinos with olive ones, use the trousers from the hopsack suit as an odd trouser like you’d wear chinos, the suit jacket as a blazer like you have. To be more minimalist/capsule?

    This is perfect! I work in tech, so I can't be wearing super formal suits, and I'm also starting my style journey, so this is perfect.

    Would you say these outfits would work with a mid grey jacket/blazer? Buying a grey suit tomorrow and can’t decide between light or mid grey.

    With the sweater outfits you can throw on a tie and tuck it inside the sweater you may look like a private school kid but I find it a nice look
