    So, I just got a DreameBot L10s Ultra. I did the cleaning mode set for vacuuming only, and it's spinning the mop heads when off carpet, and then cleaning the mop heads when it gets back to the base. Any idea why it's doing anything with mop heads when I told it to vacuum only? I haven't even added any water to the docking station yet. Thanks so much for the video; it got me through the mapping and room setting parts. I don't know how they think people can get these things to work when they offer zero help in their manual or online videos.

      @@jamie.andrews Thanks for the quick response. Once you let me know that mop spinning during vacuuming-only is not normal, I spent more time looking at the app and figured out I thought I was setting it to vacuum only but really wasn't. I had toggled on Customized Cleaning and chose vacuum only. I didn't realize that that is for setting up what you want for each room. Since I never selected a room, it didn't change it to vacuum only. I'm not totally sure that I have a handle yet on how all the cleaning mode settings work yet, but I did manage to get it to clean both a room and a zone vacuum only once I untoggled Customized Cleaning.

    I have just purchased a Z10. My house has thresholds between all of the rooms that the vacuum can't get over. I will have to manually move the vacuum between rooms. I have mapped the room where the vacuum is located. How do I map the other rooms and add them to my overall map? If that isn't possible, can I just move the vacuum to the other rooms and have it clean the room and ignore the mapping process?

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could map them as if they are a different floor, however you would need to do so with the doors closed to those other rooms. Some people build little ramps to help the robot get over thresholds as well.

    Do you know is multi floor capacity available for Dreame d9 and how to use it. I keep trying, it kind of allows me to create 2nd map, but does not save it (there is no "save" button anywhere). Could you please help me with this? you may try to create two fake floors by different rooms to test :)

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should save without you having to select save, but it will need to finish mapping the floor first before it will save. If you interrupt the process it will not completely save. Also you have to manually switch between the maps when you move the D9 to a new floor.

    • @AltitudeAerials
      @AltitudeAerials 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got the d9 this week. To save a new floor map, you have to transfer the robot AND the dock to the new floor, run it once so it can create the new map, wait for it to dock and WAIT for the notification on your phone that it's done cleaning. The new map will then appear on your phone and allow you to save/rename it too.
      I went nuts trying to save a new map for about 3x WITHOUT the dock (I only transferred the bot to the 2nd floor) so once it was done cleaning, it couldn't go back to dock (duh). The key here is to have the dock on the new floor as well so the bot can dock and notify on your phone that it's done. Without the dock, it can't notify you thus not allowing you to save the new map. Hope that helps.

  • @kimberlindy
    @kimberlindy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Additional question on mapping the DreameBot L10s Ultra, any insight on mapping another floor? Can this be done without the docking station on the other floor? Or do I need to move the docking station to the other floor for the intial mapping but never again? If I have it map while there are obstacles on the floor, will it never attempt to clean those areas going forward? Or will it go in those areas and clean once those obstacles are removed, or will I need to remap all over again? TIA!

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are correct. The first time you map the second floor it needs to be started on the dock on the second floor and it will also need to end the mapping by docking. After the map is created you can move the dock back to the first floor.
      As long as all doors are open obstacles won't be an issue for future runs.

      @@jamie.andrews thanks again for the quick response! Follow up question:I did the 2nd floor mapping, left the dock on the 2nd floor, had it clean a room and it redocked. Then I moved the dock back to the 1st floor, and plopped the vacuum in the middle of another 2nd floor room and instructed it to vacuum. It did so, but then tried to redock which consisted of looking where the dock had been and then roaming all over the 2nd floor rooms until I stopped it after ten minutes of that. I repeated this in another room, after it finished vacuuming it kept looking in all rooms for the dock until I made it stop after ten minutes of that. Is there a way to not have it just roam all over like this for however long it's going to do that without babysitting it? There was no notice to my phone that it couldn't find the dock. Also, is there any kind of mapping instruction that was in the box? I'm wondering if I'm missing something since the only manual I saw was very basic only covering initial getting on the wifi network, assembling and maintaning the machine, nada on all this mapping. The idea that we are supposed to figure all this out is ridiclous; had it not been for your and a few other videos I would have returned it already.

      @@jamie.andrews their website says they work with both Alexa and Google Home but the instructions are terrible.
      I was finally able too share the bot with my wife by entering her account number. The email didn't work. Nor did the phone number. Both claim they will work but did not.
      I still haven't gotten it to work with Alexa or Google.
      The good news is that after being down for days, their website is back up.
      One other thing about this bot. It appears you can mop, or you can vaccum. But you can't have it mop one room and just vaccum the next. You must physically remove the mop yourself. I guess they assume all your floors are the same.

      @@RelaxedBoss That is correct about the mop. If it is on it will mop. The only robot I know that can do what you are saying is the Roborock S7.

      Hello Betty. You must delete the current map and start a new Full house cleaning. To get it to complete the map it must start and finish the mapping process on its own uninterrupted. If you cancel it or stop it before it is finished it will not save the map. It will only save the map once it has docked. Hope this helps!

      @@jamie.andrews thanks! It did the trick but now it has mapped a room that’s not there. I tried conduct it to that room with the remote control but it’s impossible to get to that area. I think it’s a room at my neighbor’s. I guess I’ll have to reset it again and hopefully it won’t map that area.

      You could create multiple schedules. One with rooms that get cleaned once and once with rooms cleaned twice. The suction setting is per schedule. I would set mine to balanced and turn on carpet boost.
