💈 Haircut At The Most Geographically Centered Barbershop In The United States

- Recently, we drove to the middle of the contiguous United States and wanted to find the closest barbershop to the geographic center of the United Sates which is located outside of the small town of Lebanon, Kansas.
After searching the towns of Lebanon and Smith Center, we headed to Downs, Kansas and found the appropriately named Lost Traditions Barber Shop run by local Delmer Rothchild.
Delmer got his barber license in 1965 and barbered for 17 years prior to taking a job with the US Department of Agriculture. After retiring, he went back to barbering because he didn’t want to sit at home. He opened Lost Traditions Barber Shop in 2010 and says this isn’t a job to him because he enjoys it so much 💈❤️

I believe he is on his way to another barber and so he wanted to keep it long enough.
Well we do want a video longer than 5 minutes and the barber was very cautious about cutting too much off and made sure to ask before cutting off too. Very considerate!
For the record, I was kidding everyone.

This is so ASMR-ish. The no talking and his slow movements makes it really relaxing. And he must be the first left handed barber on the channel.
I’m a left handed barber as well and all the barbers I know and who work in around where I work are all right handed haha I’m the only leftie barber😂
The sound of scissors cutting hair is SO mesmerizing... This along with this barber's slow motions of hair styling as he cuts is 100% ASMR.

Reminds me of a barber my dad took me to when I was 7,8 and 9 years old. Soft spoken and nice. He always asked me how I was doing in baseball. I hated when we moved out of town because I had to go somewhere else for my haircuts. Nice video Harry. You took me down memory lane some 40 years ago.

This might be my favorite Harry video. Not sure what it is about it, but the quiet, subtle & smooth movements just keep me coming back.
You know the guy is good if he’s Fast with no rushing. Left handed barber. No need for guards. Guidelines Or sectioning. Just real barbering. And a real straight Razor and strop. What a find!

@@MrSkipperBent I think he means some barbers occasionally will take a lot off when cutting, leaving his hair much shorter than what a lot of people find is best for him.

Good video! This barber is really good! I’ve been cutting for 32 years and this guy and I have a lot in common. The days of the half hour or longer haircuts are thankfully gone. A good barber should not need longer than 10 to 15 minutes for a cut. Another thing is how he cuts. He doesn’t use all the new modern so called cutting techniques that are just gimmicks. Salons are good for that stuff to make it look like the customer is getting something done in a way that’s so special. That is just a gimmick to spike the price way up. This guy cuts with just good cutting skill. I like this guy!!!
This guy reminds me of a barber I used to go to as a kid. He was an honest-to-goodness Okie from the dust bowl era. That slight southern drawl, calming voice and skilled barbering was an ASMR gold mine.
He used to ask which ear I wanted to keep every time he used the straight razor. Fond memories of that shop.
Another great find in barbershops around the world, they have a art to them with what they do, your videos are videos I look forward to seeing!!!!

He’s an absolutely normal barber, no particular art, no fancy or modern cut, no artwork on the walls, no tattoos. Nothing. Just a very ordinary cut in an ordinary shop. What’s wrong with you?

Internet fame can be a very scary thing since there's a bunch of weirdos and losers always thinking they know you because they see your videos. Then they stalk your or try and force themselves into your life.

The craziest thing is that barbers usually have the best stories to tell. I know several barbers that can talk your ear off for days. Somehow Harry gets them to tell their stories thru a haircut. Simple yet so bad ass!
