Someone asked on IG what do I love to knit in the summer.., and my answer was.., exactly what I love to knit in the winter! 😊 Everything! I’m knitting on socks, a secret project and a colorwork pullover sweater. I appreciate my air conditioning soooooo much! Your advent scarf turned out SOOOO BEAUTIFULLY! And I’m going to need to buy a neutral pack of your beautiful colors! I’d love to make a neutral rainbow shawl someday! Happy knitting my friend!
Since your last episode I started a Bantam shawl with a big Stenli yarn cake I never could decide what to do with. It will be beautiful and wavy with purple, pink and dark red colours. I like to watch your gorgeous knitting although I am primarily a crocheter. Greetings from a cool temperature Netherlands in Europe.
Hi Emily. I hope you are doing well. I think your tee is a great design. I like the idea that someone put in the comments to give an option for a large or small medallion.
I love your podcast my spring knitting is my second vest ever. I’m also trying to finish a pair of fingerless mitts 🙏👍🏻😀l loved Debra’s sock videos they taught me everything I needed to know to begin my sock knitting journey ❤️
I was so happy to see your podcast pop up this morning. I am doing Sock Camp too, it caking up two skeins is considered starting. It is a slow start. I wanted to tell you I understand what you are saying about the medallion scale on the sweater you are designing, but I think the small one is sweet. It goes along with the delicate jewelry that is popular now. Also, waiting for the rainbow sock pattern you thought you might write up. Always enjoy hearing from you. Best.
Emily! I had to pause your podcast and immediately go to your shop!!!! I love those socks …. And of course I found more beautiful things as well!!! 🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏
July 17th is the perfect “birthday” for air conditioning! That happens to be my birthday and I could not live without air conditioning! The A/C is on as soon as the humidity gets over 70% even though it’s only 50 outside! 😂
I have been working on creating a reading loft in my kids playroom closet and painting it like a castle. It is turning out so cute! I've also been doing some cross stitch lately in addition to a half and half triangle wrap because I have been on the go a lot and I don't have time to sit and knit on any of my more complicated current projects.
My way of getting through the Summer is to move up to Northern California from Sacramento California where there is HOT Summers and where I spent my life until I moved.. Now I'm next to the coast and redwoods of Humboldt County not too far from Oregon. I think you said it's where you vacationed. We don't need AC lol!! Just an occasional fan. 😊 I don't do heat lol.
I loved hearing the wind chimes in the background! It’s going to be 111 degrees on Thursday here 🥵 ugh I skip the set up rows for the Kitchener, too. I’m working on socks, a sweater, and a cross stitch!
@@saltcityknits do all errands before 10am, stay inside as much as possible, go swimming, ice tea, and AC! It really is hot. Strangely, in June it feels a lot hotter than it will in August 😂
I also do not do the set up round for the Kitchener. I find it much smoother without. A thought on your sweater with the lace medallion, why not try some yarn embroidery around the medallion ? lace and texture together would be lovely. Love the new socks.
When you said Adam turned one, my audible response yo you was, "What?" He is a cutie pie. Upon your recommendation, I read The Secret Garden. I did enjoy it. I am now on a children's lit kick. Cath Kidston hand cream is available on Amazon and a gift shop in MA; if you Google it, it should come up. I can't wait to see the Romance set, although I feel the neutral set call my name😊 Enjoy your day🌸 Kim
lol Maryland is the home of ,”It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity!” Love our A/C I’ve got my Summer Sock Camp socks going as was as the Kuutar Tee. I’m doing The Big Book Summer Reading Challenge as well as pushing through my 100+ TBR. 💕🧶📚
Please I don't mean to come across as insensitive or anything like that 🙏 it just amazed me & warmed my heart when you mentioned the family members graves you go visit & the windchimes started making a loud pretty sound ❤ Susannah
I’m participating in Summer Sock Camp and I plan to knit four pairs of socks, one per month. I’m currently on my second pair of socks, the first was the Library Socks and currently I’m working on a pair of Vanilla DK socks. These are self stripping yarn. I also plan to finish a Mistake Rib Scarf and possibly a Tunisian Crochet Shawl.
I love your rainbow projects! AND the tee that you are designing! I so would test this for you! I am with you on the heat. I do not like it but I also do not like the AC to be too cool.
As I watch at 2:30 pm, it is 97° with humidity index of 107°! I live in South Texas so A/C is a must! But I am going to tough it out on the boat Wednesday for my husband to go fishing. I will have my knitting 😊
I am participating in summer sock camp. I am also making mice for #mousealongmal in June. I will make fun ornaments in July for Christmas in July. This year I decided to make toys for charity, one a day. I have made more in a day so I can skip some days or work on a more complicated design. So far so good!
Since you already have the small medallion worked out, can you put options for small or large medallion in the pattern? I am not a designer but I know lots of work goes in it.

That's how I feel too. I just keep on knittin'.
That is the CUTEST picture of you and Adam looking at each other! I'd frame that one!
I love it too. It’s my screen saver on my phone.

That sounds lovely! Thank you for joining me. I’ve always wanted to visit your beautiful country!

Thanks for such helpful feedback. I’ll definitely take another look at it once it’s done and really blocked. Maybe I’ll change my mind.

Oh that’s lovely. Thank you. I’ll get those items out to you ASAP! 😘

Happy birthday in July!! I could not live in that humidity. 😓

The loft sounds absolutely magical. Lucky kids.

That is such a gorgeous place to live. We stayed near Crescent City and loved it. 😍

Thanks Kim. I can get Cath Kidston online but not in my favorite scent. Darn!

That’s not insensitive at all. That’s so sweet. I hadn’t made that connection. 💗

That's often the battle in the summer - trying to keep cool but not frozen.

That’s a good idea. I’ll think about that.
I am doing summer sock camp The stansbury shawl
Ah, lovely!🥰
