Hi Gav, I was surprised with how much tar seal is there now. The big HD handles the gravel good. I enjoy riding it on the sport glide got. Shortest days vid got me and a mate up a farm track on the Harleys. Can't stop because the tar runs out. It's an awesome piece of NZ. I just couldn't believe how good the weather was. Thanks for the comment mate. Cheers Dean
Hello Dean, I'm enjoying your video of BP. Just wondering what tyres you're using and do you recommend them. I have a V Strom and want to change to a more capable tyre for shingle roads. Cheers Ivan
@@24reprise Gidday Ivan thanks for reaching out, pleased to hear you're enjoying the video. Tyres, I tried the continental TK but they were pretty soft so didn't last very well, I decided to give the Shinko's a go and got some 70% gravel and 30 road to do the Molesworth and Rainbow tracks, give a lot of confidence and up to now have been fine, just have to respect the wet tar seal and they are not speed rated which is good to remember when touring. I'm not sure if I go back to these or not so would be good to know what you are liking the look of, there is a lot of choice in the market. Cheers Dean
@@deandoctordavidsonHello Dean, I have chosen Motoz Tractionator GPS tyres for my V-Strom and collected my bike today with the new tyres. I'll run them in over the next few days and then try a shingle road or two. Cheers Ivan
This trip that you have done, I didi about a month ago on a HD Tourer - Electra glide, dirt track included
