Such a great city! You're right there's so much to do and being close to loads of great spots (including the snowy mountains 🗻) is a major bonus. Definitely exceeded our expectations
A fun fact about that Australian of the year display. You would have noticed that the signs aren’t in a straight line and they are placed along 5 lines on the ground. They actually correspond to music notes for Advance Australia Fair
Never knew there where so many hot air balloons. Everytime i go there for a school excursion or visit my auntie theres none. But hopefully on wednsday when i go again i hope to see some
It's an odd Australian tradition, people that have either never visited Canberra, have PTSD from school trips or generally just think of the place as being only the Government and that's it, take turns shitting on the city and it's surrounds. People I've met that eventually visit (whether for the first time or a revisit later in life) tend to have the same response - it is a quieter city than the other capitals, but there's loads to do if you look for it.
Canberra is unique as its a fully designed Capital City. Designed by Walter Burley Griffin. Griffin was the original designer of Canberra. He won the Federal Capital Design Competition, launched by King O’Malley, Minister for Home Affairs, in May 1911.
Have you considered, given that you have ready made accommodation, travelling down to the Ballarat area & using your drone to help in the search for Samantha Murphy - i honestly believe that it’s going to take either a prospector happening across her accidentally or people taking the time to fly the area with drones to find her… it would be good if there were someone who could take drone footage & make it available online for people to review…..
Is it me or are you pronouncing the words 'last and past' like a yank? Some odd accents going on there. 'The mom'? The bloke has some really odd accent, is that how they speak in WA?
Maybe, never put too much thought into how we pronounce things 🤷♀️ Wehan is from South Africa and I'm from the UK. We moved over to Australia when we were kids so have these weird mixed accents 😅
@@lydiaandwehan that explains it then, I didn't think Poms used the term 'Mom' in my experience they largely say 'Mum'. I was going to guess there was a Dutch or German influence so Sth Agrica too makes a lot of sense. Hope you enjoyed Canberra, I was born and bred in Canberra, there are some great nature walks around the area. Ginninderra Falls is a good day out, for a picnic and a swim. It is also free!
Melbourne was built from Sydney's mistakes, as Sydney was just built which Is what seems to be no plan and it makes it difficult to get to where you want to go, but Melbourne was built in blocks, squares, so if you miss one street you can turn down the next one to get to where you want to go fairly easily but some people find box turns difficult Especially for American tourists who drive on the wrong side of the road anyway...🤣😂
Sydney evolved - there wasn't an opportunity to plan - the first fleet landed and..... Melbourne (and other capitals) were planned because there wasn't the pressure to just settle....
Those hot air balloons are udderly amazing
If only skywhale had been there! 😉🐮
So much to see and do in and around canberra. Also close to snowy mountains.

Skywhale, is truly wonderful. It should be flown every year!
Thanks
Thank you so much! 💙
I could spend a couple of weeks in Canberra. The war museum was amazing

I am new to the city (from spain) and i find it quite interesting and beautiful!
Canberran here. Nice video and I like Skywhale. You should also Google Belconnen's Owl statue 😁.
8:19 if you didn’t know, the paths have some metal bars that make the Australian National Anthem song
Must remind myself to do this when next in Canberra. I have only visited Black Mountain, not Mount Ainslie.
I hope you got to visit the National Library, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery etc and the National Arboretum.
wow❤

So fascinating, we really enjoyed reading up on the history of his plan and actually executing the build!
Great vid guys! new sub
++++++CANBERRA 🦘+++I 🐸 LOVE IT🤩🥰🤣+++YOU MUST GO THERE🤣😛🤣+++
Best view of Canberra is from the Arboretum.
@peterbreis5407 the best view of Canberra is in Sydney.
@@craighall5045 Really/ Where in Sydney?
People get stuck living here, its so easy and convenient, peak hour is 20 mins, and we have everything big cities have.

Most Australians have never been to Canberra but because it is the seat of government they tend to have ridiculous views about it.
800m mountain 😅 ?
Australia is so flat that people call every hill a mountain, everything above 900m is mountain !!!
Hot air ballons are symbolic of Canberra; being full of hot air they represent our politicians.
Not a big Canberra fan too sterile for me. All the Canberrains cone down to the coast on the weekends and invade our towns that's why it's empty 😂
The day we went was the perfect weather for it, maybe we should have joined them! 🤣☀️

Very boring place, wokest place in Australia.
