Hey, Normally ONErpm will send you a notification via email ( the email tied to your ONErpm account) or you will see a notification on your dashboard and/or a support ticket. They always give you the reason for rejection.

Hi D5wolf, sorry bout the late reply to your question, in order to delete a release from ONErpm, you will have to send them a Support Ticket and explain/give them a valid reason. "Why do they make it so difficult" you ask, well ONErpm automatically registers your song for the collection of Mechanical Royalties called Sound Exchange, that registration is very legit and serious to ensure you get paid. HI Jayesh, there are two reasons this could happen. 1) Copyright Free music is still not really complete Free, there is always fine print within its contract that will tell you how and where you can use is in order for it to be free, any thing outside of that use could mean that you have to pay for it. 2) Someone else already used the same beat in a song and uploaded it to a music distributer, once that happens, the song would become "fingerprinted" as the original, so any one that tries to upload a "Copy" that song would be flagged for copyright and rejected.

Hi, instrumental tracks are very much welcomed Prashant, but the problem with music maker apps for mobile comes with the very limited storage of mobile devices. What that means is that your options for sounds is limited, making it next to impossible to come up with something new and original. This would mean that your instrumental may sound very much like someones song and in turn it may get rejected for GENERIC TYPE BEAT. Those apps are supposed to be one of the many tools that a musician would use, a tool to help them capture the inspiration while they were away from their studio, so that they can build on it later on. But dont take my word for it, this is just my opinion, you may have done something original with that app, you should get your song mastered and upload it. If it gets rejected, you already know why, so record it with more tools and upload it again!

Yes, you just have to make the corrections as to why it was rejected. The reason the song gets rejected is that if it is sent to stores, some stores will end up rejecting the song because of the wrong metadata.
@@funatorbhai Metadate is the song info, most of the instances that I see from India artist is wrong Artist Name. Most of them enter 2 names. Like this, Funator Bhai and Raki (Producer) That will get rejected because the featured artist is just Funator Bhai.

Hey you only have the right to Distribute your own beats, if you try to use anyones beats without their written permission it will be copyright infringement. That is why ONErpm will reject the music. ONErpm and other music distributers make your music available on major digital stores like Apple Music and Spotify and they also make it available for sale online, this is where artist collect royalties, so they must protect the intellectual rights of the person that wrote the song first. You must also remember that every song uploaded to the internet through a music distributer is given a digital fingerprint, so if any song has the same sonic character or is to close to another song, it will get flagged as generic beat and rejected.

I dont quite get it tho. I use one name, my real name, all the same like one on my onerpm username, and primary artist, songwriter, and producer for one single. do you have any clue why I get this distribution authorization issue? and how do we solve it?

Cool video Samuel, thanks for sharing the info with us, it covers most of the pitfalls I'd say. I'd like to ask you because what is happening to us seems less usual and I think you don't mention it. We're an independent guerrilla label and we're still getting started; we've been working with One Rpm for about a year and never had any problem with them, until the other day, when a song due to be released in a few weeks got rejected. The song is part of a double A-side release by one of our artists, who is bilingual: two versions of the same melody in both English and Spanish, similar (but not the same) song titles and cover art, albeit with different lyrics (not a translation) and very different arrangements, so we first thought it must have been a problem of paperwork, maybe not adding that one song is a version of the other or something, as we consider them to be two different tracks. They rejected the English one and said it was an editorial problem, but they insist the sound quality of the song is the issue, which leaves us puzzled as it was recorded with the same means and gear as the Spanish one, or previous tracks, and mixed and mastered by the same guy who's been working with us since nearly a year ago. This guy's never seen a song rejected, neither with us and One Rpm nor with other clients of his, and we think he did a good job, but as they don't leave clear whether the issue has to do with volume, eq, depth, balance or whatever we're all quite lost as we don't really know what to do to improve the track so it is accepted (maybe you could please give us a clue about what to do to fix the mix to meet their standards?). Our very first releases were made before we met our current mixing/mastering engineer; we retrieved them ourselves, but I assure they had worse sound quality than the rejected track. The song itself is quite experimental in its arrangement, so maybe that's what made them put it down, but we don't think it sounds harsh or anything, just weird and lil' bit underground. The mix is just slightly less punchy in the low mids than the Spanish one; we didn't care much about it as the arrangements differ so much within them we thought it was just okay to make one just a bit lighter than the other, so we'll fix that in the new mix, but apart from that we dunno what else to do to improve it. We're all a bit down as this was supposed to be a main release for both the artist and the label, with other people involved for the cover and accompanying videos, which we don't usually make, and the artist would rather not have just the Spanish version released but both of them at the same time as this was the original strategy, so we might have to cancel both singles if we don't fix this over the weekend or so.
Hey thanks for a detailed comment so that I would have the most info possible. I am just an idependent artists like many others on this platform, so please dont take my advise as bible, I do make mistakes as well. And since I do not know all the ins and outs of music distribution I can only guess at this point. My best guess is this, since the song is from the same artist and the song is just a "Remix", I hope that you entered that info upon upload. If not, I would then think that the song got flagged within the song fingerprint as a "Generic Beat". And because of that the system may just outright not allow the song to go live. And then Human Error may have stepped in and dealt with the Meta Data and not realize that the song is basically an English version. So I would try re uploading the song as a "Remix" instead of trying to deal with the problem as it stands, because the mistakes are probably between internal departments within ONErpm

Yeah well we're all human and might make mistakes, but at least that's better than speaking to a bot or half-human/half-bot answers that I sometimes get from One Rpm. It's like "we give you this piece of info so you'll have to guess it up and sort it out yourself", fair enough. Yeah that thing you say adds up, and that was our main concern, that we'd missed the Remix tag, so to say, or something. I asked them about that but like I said they insist it's an issue with sound, so to not get our fingers burned we're gonna do everything possible to get it fixed on every level. We're gonna have the song remixed and remastered again, giving it the same treatment as the fingerprint track; it was not done like that as they are so different (one has beats, the other has drums in it), but we guess what worked for one will work for the other with some tweaking. And we're also gonna ask them to unblock the song so we can add the "Remix" tag in the version info as you suggest. To us, it's more of a remake than a remix; actually, the original song, in Spanish, is the one which features electronic beats while the other, the rejected one, has drums, so it would be quite the opposite of a remix, quite a de-remix or something haha, But to not make matters worse I think we'll just say it's the "English Remix" lol (Should we add the language tag or omit it, and just leave it just as a "Remix"?). We're gonna try not to upload it again as a new song but rather see if we ca n fix it on this very same entry to save time and hope for the best so that both songs may come out on the same date as originally intended. I guess that's still possible, right? We're some 18 days ahead of release date. In case it can't be done like that we'll try uploading it again as a Remix (after asking for the removal of the old one, right?) and we'll all adapt to circumstances round here, maybe even try out some promo tricks if there is a delay in the release of the rejected track hehe
@@suyanisqatsirecords432 I would shoot for re upload as a remix, the reason I say that vs try and fix the problem as it is now. Once a song is rejected, it seems to go to another department for "Repairs" so the song is not treated as priority while sorting. Lets say with the massive number of song ONErpms gets on a daily basis, the PILE of REJECTIONS may be many, and the time it takes that department to go back over and approvals takes much more time.
@@TieDyeKitty Hey we're gonna cancel these tracks and have them remixed and remastered again by someone else and release them in September with the same respective titles and covers. We're still waiting for One Rpm to answer, but I think that can be done, can't it? Maybe they have to be out and retrieved afterwards, we don't know how that's to be done exactly, but we'd rather cancel than later have them removed. I think we will release the English version as an English Remix. The artist would rather use the tag English Remake but I'm not sure they're gonna take it. And, should we add the tag of Spanish version to the other one or just leave it plain, meaning it's the original?
There are certain Indian devotional songs which are available in public domain and song writer name is not available. What is to be done in that case? ONErpm is insisting for songwriter and rejecting if I mention 'Traditional Song' in its place.
Yes I am sorry for your problem, and even tho it is in your heart to preserve the music for future generations, the problem exist within the way the music industry is set up. First issue, once a song goes to Public Dom status, its use becomes Free, therefore no one is allowed to profit from its use anymore. This then goes against the way music distribution is set up, because every time a song is streamed money is paid to its owner. When you write a song you OWN the copyright, you also own the right to distribute. When you OWN those rights yourself, you are then able to authorize a music a distributer to distribute on your behalf and collect any royalties for the music. If you dont OWN the rights, them by law the music distributer cannot post the music.
It is always better to obtain a licence for any samples, you should always cover your back, the last thing you want, is to finally get a hit one day, make a fair amount of money or popularity, then suddenly people start coming out of the woodwork claiming parts of your song. Just know that no one is going to waste their time and money taking you to court when you are broke, the claims only come when you have money to pay up. So you should also know that there really is NO "FAIR USE", so once you use any part of someone else's work without their permission, it is Copywrite infringement, and they can take legal action.

@@rabbsneitor it won't really cost much to get the licence to use the samples for the recording, but if you plan of doing a video, that's where it can get expensive to use. But I love the idea of using 100% original works, it is the hard road to travel, but in the end, you did not take the easy way like most other artists. You will have more love for your music, and your fans will also.

Hey I have a TH-cam playlist that answers many of those questions already that can be found here th-cam.com/play/PL5ynaRzB5aJnjyzkz6jLkZPyXy8LQQAzL.html To upload a new modified version of a song, even tho it can be done, I would not advise it unless it is absolutely nessisary, ONErpm will have to call the stores to do a takedown of your music first, that could take a month, and the re-upload to get the new version live in stores will take another month. So for that one change to happen worldwide, 2 months or more, your fans may think the song is no longer available and move onto something else.
@@yellowscorpion100 I am not really sure, but the same thing will have to happen, ONErpm's job is to accept your songs, check it, verify it and then basically email it to stores, at that point, it's no longer in their control. The stores are different companies all over the world. So when each store gets notified of a change from ONErpm, it could take months before each store makes the change.

Hey, ONErpm distributed the song to all stores, they did what they were supposed to do, if your song was canceled in any stores, that was a decision the store ( iTunes & Facebook) made as to not carry the song in their library, there is nothing you can do for that, they made their decision.
Hi, to be as honest as I can here, getting your song in stores as quickly as you can is really pointless, you won't be discovered that way as an indie artist. Even the big record labels send their song off to music distributers 2 months before the release date as part of their release strategy, because they have to take into account any delays that can creep up and time to promote the song. I normally set my release for a month after I upload to ONErpm. So to finally answer your question..lol All the delays with Approvals/rejections/corrections/Streaming platforms accepting happens before the song ever makes it to the public, so if you need to have your song out on a specific date, send it to the distributor a minimum of 3 weeks before.

Hey Omkar, you should send a copy of your national ID card to prove that you are who you say you are, and the letter should be a written agreement between the artist who wrote the song and you, where the artist gives you the right to distribute the song on their behalf.
Sorry for the late reply, that is a perfect music promotion type question. I cant give any advice only because music promotion is strategy that someone thinks up in oder to gain a competitive edge over their competitors. So any clever way you could encourage your fan base to do it, will make your dreams come thru. I myself have not found the formula just yet.

It is easy once you get permission from the song writer or the music publisher that controls the song's copyright. After that point they will grant you a licence that you will then upload to ONErpm to clear the song so that they will be able to distribute the song legally, if you dont do this step, the computer systems will flag the song as "Generic Beat" and the song will get rejected. If you end up using another distributer to get the song public and it does happen to slip through un noticed, then you run the risk of landing in court for copyright infringement.

@@wolfsbanelo-fimusic Lyrics and vocals are only a part of some songs, but in your case it is just an instrumental, but the face is that people can recognize the "MELODY" of Squid Game theme song, that means that you are using someone else "Copyright" or creation, so that creator must also be able to share in what ever outcome your Remix generates. Any sub creation that was spawned out of or inspired by something is called a "Derivative" work under the original copyright. In other words the songwriter already owns your remix.
Hey an album or single rejection, does not mean that ONErpm does not want the song, it means that there is a problem that needs to be fixed, once that problem is fixed then they WILL APPROVE the song or album. So yes they will accept a rejected album at some point.

@@Mayank-vq1uw You can share, but it will be illegal, you will get copyright claims on your channel, if you try to use ONErmp, Distrokid, Tunecore, or any other Distributer the music will never make it to stores. And if it does make it to stores somehow, it will get taken down at some point, you also run the risk of getting your artist's name banned from distributers. It is risky to do it, but the way I will show you in my future video will only cost you $10USD, and with that, you will be able to upload the song to Spotify, iTunes, and all the stores and TH-cam. You will also be able to make money from it, so please hold on a little longer if you can, so I can help you make it legal.
I had the problem with the artist and songwriter name of course, but my track is an instrumental, so why do I need a songwriter name? I have put it as my artist name before and it has worked, but I forgot "music" at the end of my artist name this time. Thats why I was rejected. Hi Zig, 1) "Why do I need a songwriter name? songwriters write songs even if it is an instrumental, Artist PERFORM the songs, so if you have a great song like Yesterday by the Beatles, every cover song of that song was PERFORMED by a different Artist. 2) Songwriters are registered with royalties collections agencies, you get paid via your LEGAL name, not your artist name. 3) Each music Distribution account is made for an Artist, there can be only ONE artist on an account, but there can be multiple songwriters on a song.

@@zig8925 Yes right now their website is being overhauled, so I cannot even log in. lol But once you get in you just need to make a ticket in the Support tab of the MENU, to update ONErpm about any changes you would like to make, then they will open back up the edit on your song so you can make the corrections. There is no need to do a whole new upload.

@@zig8925 I will send them an email about that. lol if you do it over from scratch, it may just go through faster, than making corrections. But sometimes it takes 3 corrections to be approved, so if you made 3 different uploads for the same song, you will just end up with clutter in your ONErpm account and more things that could go wrong, just have patience with them, they try to get your release in stores the right way, so you don't get rejected by an individual store later on.
Wow that is a difficult one to get past, that means just like TH-cam content ID, new song are put through a song fingerprint type system to see if there are any matches. Once another song presently available on Spotify or Apple Music has the same sonic character, the newly uploaded song will get flagged and rejected. If you used some sort of Apple Loop in your song production, that may be the cause. Let me know if this was the case?

I need some help. The song that we talked about a few weeks ago got rejected from iTunes. I contacted onerpm and they told me that it was rejected from certain platforms because my song was heavily “beat-based” and it was not approved in order to prevent copyright issues between artists. I made the entire song from scratch and I didn’t steal anything whatsoever. How can ensure that my next release makes it to iTunes? Should I copyright my music from now on? Is it just about luck? Hey, the thing is computers are scanning all the music sites, looking for Copywrite clashes/issues, so when your beat matches another one to close, it will get flagged. Even tho you are making your own beats, there are hundreds that just copy others and that's what causes the problem, I will try to do a video on this topic, I have wanted to do it for awhile, thanks

Hi, the data they are talking about, is in the report section. When you have songs distributed, you go to the report section to see your stream counts and the money it generated, since you don't have any, you won't see anything. You have to go to MENU - SUPPORT - MY TICKETS

@@Vegita1999 Hey DPI means DOTS PER INCH, the more Dots per inch will mean the better a graphic or pic will look. If your artwork has a small number of DPI then the image will look pixelated when enlarged.

Hey Samuel, thanks for the question, but to be honest you dont need a blueprint for approval, because ONErpm will reject your song if it does not meet the requirements of the stores (Spotify, Apple Music and the rest). Hey yes, it is possible that all your music could get rejected. And please know that ONErpm manually checks all submissions, because all the music we listen to has also been "fingerprinted" by computer algorithms to search for copyright issues. That way the staff can reject a song and notify us when a problem come up, once we fix what they tell us to do, they will approve the song. It is better this way because if the actual stores reject your song for copyright issues, your artist's name can be red-flagged. How many songs are you trying to relesase?

Hey, all songs take 4 weeks on average to be on all online stores. Certain stores like Spotify and Apple Music should take 5 days, but not the rest of them.

All you need to do is edit your lyrics, then reply to the ticket telling ONErpm that you have a edited version that you would like to upload. ONErpm will reply with an option to attach the new file.

All artist profiles from stores (Spotify, Amazon, deezer and more) are your personal Artist Profiles, they have nothing to do with your distributer. Some distributers just have shortcuts within their website for you to access your store profiles.
Songwriters are the ones that get paid royalties, they are the ones who also pay taxes, so the songwriter is your legal name. If your artist name is also your legal name, you have nothing to worry about. But if you use your Artist name as the songwriter, your song will get rejected, for distribution authorization.

Not Generic as sounds the same, it goes deeper than that. Many times A hip hop/Rap producer for example sells a beat to 10 different artist, the vocals and other little things would be changed, but only the first song that came from that original beat that went live in stores would become "Original" so if the other 9 song got uploaded to stores after, they would be flagged as "Generic"

The service if Free which means your music NEVER GETS TAKEN DOWN from stores, unlike paid services that take down your music if you miss a payment.
How Do You Delete a Release from ONErpm?
Hi D5wolf, sorry bout the late reply to your question, in order to delete a release from ONErpm, you will have to send them a Support Ticket and explain/give them a valid reason.
"Why do they make it so difficult" you ask, well ONErpm automatically registers your song for the collection of Mechanical Royalties called Sound Exchange, that registration is very legit and serious to ensure you get paid.
Please note that ONErpm does not pay me in anyway, but 90% of the other music distributors only do this step for you if you pay them an additionally to their yearly fee for Publishing Admin on your songs.

What to do
HI Jayesh, there are two reasons this could happen.
1) Copyright Free music is still not really complete Free, there is always fine print within its contract that will tell you how and where you can use is in order for it to be free, any thing outside of that use could mean that you have to pay for it.
2) Someone else already used the same beat in a song and uploaded it to a music distributer, once that happens, the song would become "fingerprinted" as the original, so any one that tries to upload a "Copy" that song would be flagged for copyright and rejected.

Hi, instrumental tracks are very much welcomed Prashant, but the problem with music maker apps for mobile comes with the very limited storage of mobile devices.
What that means is that your options for sounds is limited, making it next to impossible to come up with something new and original.
This would mean that your instrumental may sound very much like someones song and in turn it may get rejected for GENERIC TYPE BEAT.
Those apps are supposed to be one of the many tools that a musician would use, a tool to help them capture the inspiration while they were away from their studio, so that they can build on it later on.
But dont take my word for it, this is just my opinion, you may have done something original with that app, you should get your song mastered and upload it.
If it gets rejected, you already know why, so record it with more tools and upload it again!

Yes, you just have to make the corrections as to why it was rejected.
The reason the song gets rejected is that if it is sent to stores, some stores will end up rejecting the song because of the wrong metadata.

Hey you only have the right to Distribute your own beats, if you try to use anyones beats without their written permission it will be copyright infringement.
That is why ONErpm will reject the music.
ONErpm and other music distributers make your music available on major digital stores like Apple Music and Spotify and they also make it available for sale online, this is where artist collect royalties, so they must protect the intellectual rights of the person that wrote the song first.
You must also remember that every song uploaded to the internet through a music distributer is given a digital fingerprint, so if any song has the same sonic character or is to close to another song, it will get flagged as generic beat and rejected.

Cool video Samuel, thanks for sharing the info with us, it covers most of the pitfalls I'd say. I'd like to ask you because what is happening to us seems less usual and I think you don't mention it.
We're an independent guerrilla label and we're still getting started; we've been working with One Rpm for about a year and never had any problem with them, until the other day, when a song due to be released in a few weeks got rejected.
The song is part of a double A-side release by one of our artists, who is bilingual: two versions of the same melody in both English and Spanish, similar (but not the same) song titles and cover art, albeit with different lyrics (not a translation) and very different arrangements, so we first thought it must have been a problem of paperwork, maybe not adding that one song is a version of the other or something, as we consider them to be two different tracks.
They rejected the English one and said it was an editorial problem, but they insist the sound quality of the song is the issue, which leaves us puzzled as it was recorded with the same means and gear as the Spanish one, or previous tracks, and mixed and mastered by the same guy who's been working with us since nearly a year ago.
This guy's never seen a song rejected, neither with us and One Rpm nor with other clients of his, and we think he did a good job, but as they don't leave clear whether the issue has to do with volume, eq, depth, balance or whatever we're all quite lost as we don't really know what to do to improve the track so it is accepted (maybe you could please give us a clue about what to do to fix the mix to meet their standards?).
Our very first releases were made before we met our current mixing/mastering engineer; we retrieved them ourselves, but I assure they had worse sound quality than the rejected track. The song itself is quite experimental in its arrangement, so maybe that's what made them put it down, but we don't think it sounds harsh or anything, just weird and lil' bit underground. The mix is just slightly less punchy in the low mids than the Spanish one; we didn't care much about it as the arrangements differ so much within them we thought it was just okay to make one just a bit lighter than the other, so we'll fix that in the new mix, but apart from that we dunno what else to do to improve it.
We're all a bit down as this was supposed to be a main release for both the artist and the label, with other people involved for the cover and accompanying videos, which we don't usually make, and the artist would rather not have just the Spanish version released but both of them at the same time as this was the original strategy, so we might have to cancel both singles if we don't fix this over the weekend or so.

I am just an idependent artists like many others on this platform, so please dont take my advise as bible, I do make mistakes as well.
And since I do not know all the ins and outs of music distribution I can only guess at this point.
My best guess is this, since the song is from the same artist and the song is just a "Remix", I hope that you entered that info upon upload.
If not, I would then think that the song got flagged within the song fingerprint as a "Generic Beat".
And because of that the system may just outright not allow the song to go live.
And then Human Error may have stepped in and dealt with the Meta Data and not realize that the song is basically an English version.
So I would try re uploading the song as a "Remix" instead of trying to deal with the problem as it stands, because the mistakes are probably between internal departments within ONErpm

Yeah well we're all human and might make mistakes, but at least that's better than speaking to a bot or half-human/half-bot answers that I sometimes get from One Rpm. It's like "we give you this piece of info so you'll have to guess it up and sort it out yourself", fair enough.
Yeah that thing you say adds up, and that was our main concern, that we'd missed the Remix tag, so to say, or something. I asked them about that but like I said they insist it's an issue with sound, so to not get our fingers burned we're gonna do everything possible to get it fixed on every level.
We're gonna have the song remixed and remastered again, giving it the same treatment as the fingerprint track; it was not done like that as they are so different (one has beats, the other has drums in it), but we guess what worked for one will work for the other with some tweaking.
And we're also gonna ask them to unblock the song so we can add the "Remix" tag in the version info as you suggest. To us, it's more of a remake than a remix; actually, the original song, in Spanish, is the one which features electronic beats while the other, the rejected one, has drums, so it would be quite the opposite of a remix, quite a de-remix or something haha,
But to not make matters worse I think we'll just say it's the "English Remix" lol (Should we add the language tag or omit it, and just leave it just as a "Remix"?).
We're gonna try not to upload it again as a new song but rather see if we ca n fix it on this very same entry to save time and hope for the best so that both songs may come out on the same date as originally intended. I guess that's still possible, right? We're some 18 days ahead of release date.
In case it can't be done like that we'll try uploading it again as a Remix (after asking for the removal of the old one, right?) and we'll all adapt to circumstances round here, maybe even try out some promo tricks if there is a delay in the release of the rejected track hehe
@@suyanisqatsirecords432 I would shoot for re upload as a remix, the reason I say that vs try and fix the problem as it is now.
Once a song is rejected, it seems to go to another department for "Repairs" so the song is not treated as priority while sorting.
Lets say with the massive number of song ONErpms gets on a daily basis, the PILE of REJECTIONS may be many, and the time it takes that department to go back over and approvals takes much more time.
@@TieDyeKitty Hey we're gonna cancel these tracks and have them remixed and remastered again by someone else and release them in September with the same respective titles and covers. We're still waiting for One Rpm to answer, but I think that can be done, can't it? Maybe they have to be out and retrieved afterwards, we don't know how that's to be done exactly, but we'd rather cancel than later have them removed.
I think we will release the English version as an English Remix. The artist would rather use the tag English Remake but I'm not sure they're gonna take it. And, should we add the tag of Spanish version to the other one or just leave it plain, meaning it's the original?
There are certain Indian devotional songs which are available in public domain and song writer name is not available. What is to be done in that case? ONErpm is insisting for songwriter and rejecting if I mention 'Traditional Song' in its place.
Yes I am sorry for your problem, and even tho it is in your heart to preserve the music for future generations, the problem exist within the way the music industry is set up.
First issue, once a song goes to Public Dom status, its use becomes Free, therefore no one is allowed to profit from its use anymore.
This then goes against the way music distribution is set up, because every time a song is streamed money is paid to its owner.
When you write a song you OWN the copyright, you also own the right to distribute.
When you OWN those rights yourself, you are then able to authorize a music a distributer to distribute on your behalf and collect any royalties for the music.
If you dont OWN the rights, them by law the music distributer cannot post the music.
What if the samples, is one of those very old HipHop classic samples (yes yes y’all, ayeee, hey) ?i still need a permit?
It is always better to obtain a licence for any samples, you should always cover your back, the last thing you want, is to finally get a hit one day, make a fair amount of money or popularity, then suddenly people start coming out of the woodwork claiming parts of your song.
Just know that no one is going to waste their time and money taking you to court when you are broke, the claims only come when you have money to pay up.
So you should also know that there really is NO "FAIR USE", so once you use any part of someone else's work without their permission, it is Copywrite infringement, and they can take legal action.

But I love the idea of using 100% original works, it is the hard road to travel, but in the end, you did not take the easy way like most other artists.

To upload a new modified version of a song, even tho it can be done, I would not advise it unless it is absolutely nessisary, ONErpm will have to call the stores to do a takedown of your music first, that could take a month, and the re-upload to get the new version live in stores will take another month.
So for that one change to happen worldwide, 2 months or more, your fans may think the song is no longer available and move onto something else.

Hi, to be as honest as I can here, getting your song in stores as quickly as you can is really pointless, you won't be discovered that way as an indie artist.
Even the big record labels send their song off to music distributers 2 months before the release date as part of their release strategy, because they have to take into account any delays that can creep up and time to promote the song.
I normally set my release for a month after I upload to ONErpm.
So to finally answer your question..lol
All the delays with Approvals/rejections/corrections/Streaming platforms accepting happens before the song ever makes it to the public, so if you need to have your song out on a specific date, send it to the distributor a minimum of 3 weeks before.

Hey Omkar, you should send a copy of your national ID card to prove that you are who you say you are, and the letter should be a written agreement between the artist who wrote the song and you, where the artist gives you the right to distribute the song on their behalf.

Sir tell how to upload a remix tracks on one RPM
It is easy once you get permission from the song writer or the music publisher that controls the song's copyright.
After that point they will grant you a licence that you will then upload to ONErpm to clear the song so that they will be able to distribute the song legally, if you dont do this step, the computer systems will flag the song as "Generic Beat" and the song will get rejected.
If you end up using another distributer to get the song public and it does happen to slip through un noticed, then you run the risk of landing in court for copyright infringement.

@@wolfsbanelo-fimusic Lyrics and vocals are only a part of some songs, but in your case it is just an instrumental, but the face is that people can recognize the "MELODY" of Squid Game theme song, that means that you are using someone else "Copyright" or creation, so that creator must also be able to share in what ever outcome your Remix generates.
Any sub creation that was spawned out of or inspired by something is called a "Derivative" work under the original copyright.
In other words the songwriter already owns your remix.

Hey an album or single rejection, does not mean that ONErpm does not want the song, it means that there is a problem that needs to be fixed, once that problem is fixed then they WILL APPROVE the song or album.
So yes they will accept a rejected album at some point.

Great question Mayank! you need to have a license (approval) to do any cover song, once you have that, you are able to distribute the song.

@@Mayank-vq1uw You can share, but it will be illegal, you will get copyright claims on your channel, if you try to use ONErmp, Distrokid, Tunecore, or any other Distributer the music will never make it to stores.
And if it does make it to stores somehow, it will get taken down at some point, you also run the risk of getting your artist's name banned from distributers.
It is risky to do it, but the way I will show you in my future video will only cost you $10USD, and with that, you will be able to upload the song to Spotify, iTunes, and all the stores and TH-cam.
You will also be able to make money from it, so please hold on a little longer if you can, so I can help you make it legal.

I had the problem with the artist and songwriter name of course, but my track is an instrumental, so why do I need a songwriter name? I have put it as my artist name before and it has worked, but I forgot "music" at the end of my artist name this time. Thats why I was rejected. Hi Zig, 1) "Why do I need a songwriter name? songwriters write songs even if it is an instrumental, Artist PERFORM the songs, so if you have a great song like Yesterday by the Beatles, every cover song of that song was PERFORMED by a different Artist.
2) Songwriters are registered with royalties collections agencies, you get paid via your LEGAL name, not your artist name.
3) Each music Distribution account is made for an Artist, there can be only ONE artist on an account, but there can be multiple songwriters on a song.

@@zig8925 Yes right now their website is being overhauled, so I cannot even log in. lol
But once you get in you just need to make a ticket in the Support tab of the MENU, to update ONErpm about any changes you would like to make, then they will open back up the edit on your song so you can make the corrections.
There is no need to do a whole new upload.

if you do it over from scratch, it may just go through faster, than making corrections.
But sometimes it takes 3 corrections to be approved, so if you made 3 different uploads for the same song, you will just end up with clutter in your ONErpm account and more things that could go wrong, just have patience with them, they try to get your release in stores the right way, so you don't get rejected by an individual store later on.

Wow that is a difficult one to get past, that means just like TH-cam content ID, new song are put through a song fingerprint type system to see if there are any matches.
Once another song presently available on Spotify or Apple Music has the same sonic character, the newly uploaded song will get flagged and rejected.
If you used some sort of Apple Loop in your song production, that may be the cause.
Let me know if this was the case?

I need some help. The song that we talked about a few weeks ago got rejected from iTunes. I contacted onerpm and they told me that it was rejected from certain platforms because my song was heavily “beat-based” and it was not approved in order to prevent copyright issues between artists. I made the entire song from scratch and I didn’t steal anything whatsoever. How can ensure that my next release makes it to iTunes? Should I copyright my music from now on? Is it just about luck? How come big artists don’t have to deal with this
Hey, the thing is computers are scanning all the music sites, looking for Copywrite clashes/issues, so when your beat matches another one to close, it will get flagged.
Even tho you are making your own beats, there are hundreds that just copy others and that's what causes the problem, I will try to do a video on this topic, I have wanted to do it for awhile, thanks

Hi, the data they are talking about, is in the report section.
When you have songs distributed, you go to the report section to see your stream counts and the money it generated, since you don't have any, you won't see anything.
You have to go to MENU - SUPPORT - MY TICKETS

And either Jpeg or Png file type

@@Vegita1999 Hey DPI means DOTS PER INCH, the more Dots per inch will mean the better a graphic or pic will look.
If your artwork has a small number of DPI then the image will look pixelated when enlarged.

Hey Samuel, thanks for the question, but to be honest you dont need a blueprint for approval, because ONErpm will reject your song if it does not meet the requirements of the stores (Spotify, Apple Music and the rest).
So they give you guideline of what you need.
1) You must own the copyright of the song
2) 3000x3000 artwork
3) Wav format of the song
4) Artist and Song info

If I understand it correctly I will get rejected by onerpm for I did not wrote it and I am gonna have to send an agreement of me and songwriter where he approves it. And that’s what I am asking for - a draft of that agreement and whether there is something else except that agreement I am gonna need for the approval.
@@SamuelNovota Hi again, the document will be a legal letter, the format is not as important as you thing, but the contents of the document are.
1) You must both list your legal names
2) You must both provide some sort of ID (passport or National ID) scan or photo
3) Then the Songwriter must transfer the "right to distribute" the song over to you.
4) Both of you must sign the document

If I have not released anything yet (I do not have any artist page yet) is there a way that onerpm let’s me access the Spotify artist page prior to the release? (to pitch for some official playlists). Basically I need UPC code of the release and URI code of the artist (me) to do this. Will onerpm allow for this?

Hey yes, it is possible that all your music could get rejected.
And please know that ONErpm manually checks all submissions, because all the music we listen to has also been "fingerprinted" by computer algorithms to search for copyright issues.
That way the staff can reject a song and notify us when a problem come up, once we fix what they tell us to do, they will approve the song.
It is better this way because if the actual stores reject your song for copyright issues, your artist's name can be red-flagged.

Hey, all songs take 4 weeks on average to be on all online stores.
Certain stores like Spotify and Apple Music should take 5 days, but not the rest of them.

All you need to do is edit your lyrics, then reply to the ticket telling ONErpm that you have a edited version that you would like to upload. ONErpm will reply with an option to attach the new file.

All artist profiles from stores (Spotify, Amazon, deezer and more) are your personal Artist Profiles, they have nothing to do with your distributer.
Some distributers just have shortcuts within their website for you to access your store profiles.
What if my artist name and song writer name are both the same? I should be good right?
Songwriters are the ones that get paid royalties, they are the ones who also pay taxes, so the songwriter is your legal name.
If your artist name is also your legal name, you have nothing to worry about.
But if you use your Artist name as the songwriter, your song will get rejected, for distribution authorization.

@@realtaskar from what I see on your youtube channel, the music used in the videos is not your, you did not write the songs.
If you want to distribute it, you have to get a letter from each Artists giving you permission to distribute the music on their behalf ( become a Record Label )
If you do not know them personally and cannot get a letter from them, then you cannot use any Music Distributer, because it is against the law to distribute and sell what is not yours.

Not Generic as sounds the same, it goes deeper than that.
Many times A hip hop/Rap producer for example sells a beat to 10 different artist, the vocals and other little things would be changed, but only the first song that came from that original beat that went live in stores would become "Original" so if the other 9 song got uploaded to stores after, they would be flagged as "Generic"

Hi, you will have to send them a support ticket to give them a reason, but because different departments have different workloads, by the time support gets your email, the single may already be live, at that point you will have to give a reason for a takedown of the song.
