    Great video! If you're from the UK, I believe these are the equivalent organisations:
    1. Distributor - Distrokid, CD Baby, Ditto, AWAL etc.
    2. Collection Society - PRS (part of 'PRS for Music')
    3. Publishing Admin - MCPS (part of 'PRS for Music')
    4. Recorded music licensing - PPL

    • @thelynngentry
      @thelynngentry 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emmanuelsimpson1751 mechanicals for the most part come from the physical sell of music(ie. CD's, Tapes, Vinyls) for the most part they are dealing because of streaming. Master royalties are what you would get from a Label depending on your percentage, but the include mechanicals and streaming(Public Performance Royalties) as well as most other revenue streams that the label would receive for your music. Distrokid is going to pay you for streaming, which is different than Mechanicals. Dtistrokid is dealing with your Public Performance Royalties off of streaming.

    Hey Kato, great content! And as someone who is already set with everything I believe you could have the answer to my question - I'm still curious how does PRO come to amount that will be payed out to a songwriter generated through streams?
    We know that distributor pays for streams generated through master recording and there is a revenue set for one stream ( roughly, we can say that 1 000 000 streams on Spotify will generate around 4000$ from master side), but can we say what value that song will generate on the composition side for the same amount of the streams? Is there any formula? Or is there any ratio for that? Thanks in advance.

    Controlled Compositions: If any selection or musical composition, or any portion thereof, recorded in the Masters hereunder is written or composed by Producer, in whole or in part, alone or in collaboration with others, or is owned or controlled, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by Producer or any person, firm, or corporation in which Producer has a direct or indirect interest, then such selection and/or musical composition shall be hereinafter referred to as a "Controlled Composition". Producer hereby agrees to issue or cause to be issued, as applicable, to Artist, or Artist's designees, mechanical licenses (including, without limitation, any "first use" mechanical licenses) and other licenses in respect of each Controlled Composition subject to the same terms and conditions as are applicable to selections and musical compositions written, composed, owned, or controlled, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by Artist, which are embodied on the Master or any recording recorded under this agreement. For that license, on the United States and Canada sales, Artist will pay mechanical royalties at one hundred percent (100%) of the minimum statutory rate, subject to no cap of that rate for albums and/or EPs. For license outside the United States and Canada, the mechanical royalty rate will be the rate prevailing on an industry-wide basis in the country concerned on the date that this agreement has been entered into. Producer hereby grants Artist a license to reproduce Controlled Compositions that are embodied on the Master produced hereunder in synchronization with and in time relation to visual images featuring Artist's performances in so-called promotional "video programs", on a royalty-free basis and in so-called commercial "video programs", in being understood that Producer shall be entitled to Producer's pro-rata share of any royalties attributable to such commercial "video programs". Upon Artist's request Producer shall execute or cause Producer's publishing designee to execute and deliver to Artist, as applicable, all documents required by Artist, as applicable, to effectuate the purpose of this paragraph.

    • @chuckmullins9338
      @chuckmullins9338 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You register your beat on everything the same way. HOWEVER Exclusive rights, from what i understand, is a one time private exchange between you and the artist buying it from you. You give the artist what you've created and that's the last money you receive. Honestly vie seen lots of producers sell an exclusive though and keep the beat on here because its got so many views and they just change the description to SOLD and delete the links to purchase it. Because that video makes your channel better, makes money, and if that beat pops up in some bloggers video somewhere you can still probably collect royalties. But exclusive is supposed to = gave away all rights to the person who bought it.

    What's your thoughts on joining HFA & or Music Reports if you already have a pub admin like Songtrust and/or an actual Pub deal (complex I know, the pub deal is 90% instrumental sync/licensing)

      Songtrust works with HFA so you'd be covered there with all your mechanicals. Music Reports is good to have tho.

    With That said, such Organizations are a bunch of well Organized legal Scavengers.
    I apologize for such expression, but they have to have policies of contacting Artists, even if it's once, to let them know that their hard work has paid off.
    Let me know if I'm wrong.

    Im confused about SongTrust, what if you don't want to upload Beats on Spotify only on youtube, Can SongTrust still monetize your content ID? The most straight up video! THANKS!!

    Can a producer claim sound exchange royalties? Because we don’t own the masters so I’m not sure if we can collect that
