I had to reupload this video because nobody could hear the audio! Sorry about that. Seems okay now for the most part, however it's been brought to my attention that for some reason at around 18:30 there's an audio sync issue that lasts around 30 seconds. Not sure why this video has given me such a hard time, but I hope you enjoy it regardless! I loved editing it. Can't wait for chapter 3!

The one issue I have playing it on the go is that the audio feels a bit too quiet to me at times even with the four settings of has and I still have to play and listen the game on dock.

19:30 Tiaon is thinking about time. Specifically, Mio's time left. His whole thought process is, he knows Mio doesn't have a lot of time left so he's trying to suggest the quickest route even though it goes against safety logic.
Not just that. He also knows that she doesn't cope well with heat. He was trying to look out for her without being too obvious about it.
And it's very in character for Mio to go with the safest option, even though she will be the one losing out. The fact that Noah immediately understands her is such good characterization. Rex would have been the first one to suggest going the fastest route
@@ilavain Yes, I agree that it's good characterization for Noah, given that he's very mature, especially emotionally, since basically the beginning of the game because of his job relating to death and losing people. However, I think your comment paints Rex in somewhat of a bad light by saying he wouldn't have noticed something like that as if it were bad characterization for him. You're right, he probably wouldn't have noticed throughout most of XC2 if Pyra/Mythra were in that same situation, but there's a reason for that, and it comes down to the context of XC2's narrative and Rex's character arc. Both of those two things, especially the latter one, revolve around Rex being a naive and unaware kid that doesn't undestand/realize how Pyra and Mythra feel, but eventually, and with Vandham being basically the catalyst for it, he begins to understand them better and grows as a person. In that sense, not noticing something like that (which in fact could be exemplified with the first encounter with Vandham, where Rex doesn't notice how he's abusing Pyra's power) serves as a starting point for his journey towards maturing and understanding Pyra and Mythra to become their true Driver. In my opinion, since Noah and Rex both are very different and work differently as protagonists, both cases can be used as very good characterization depending on the purpose of the scene in the greater context of the narrative and for the character's arc. All this to say, I agree that it's really good characterization for Noah, but it being good for Noah doesn't mean it would've been good for Rex to do the exact same (unless it was AFTER that moment when Rex becomes their true driver).

It makes sense though. He gave genuine compliment to her strength and she didn't try to bite his head off with death threats or take offense to any jabs he did make. Plus she was reasonable and pretty easy going, telling taion to reel in his attitude and made it clear that she and mio were actual friends enough for sena refer her by a nickname. She showed a lot of positive traits that made her cool in his book. including the shared interest especially.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that the two armies were from each of the two previous universes. I had an idea, but thought Lanz might be part Urayan (so from XC2), so that didn't fit. Wasn't until much later that I realized he was part Machina instead. That made everything fit much better.

The first time The Weight of Life plays is absolutely magical. Shame it's so under used as it's an absolutely beautiful track.
I think they play it in just the right moments. It keeps it from being overplayed and keeps these moments special
Remember the title is "The Weight of Life" not "Counterattack"
It is used 2 times and both are exceptional on the level of Prison Island Ch.10 in XC1 and Ruins of Olethro Ch.3 in XC2. Engage the Enemy and Counterattack were used way too much. Love the songs but they played for nearly every chapter finale.
I think it should have played just *once* more. Counterattack and Engage the Enemy were a bit overused, but I think The Weight of Life was underused.
I was amazed by Chapter 2. Letting you change the character you control mid-battle was a fantastic idea. That finale sequence... The perfect 3 bosses combo. When The Weight of Life plays, and Noah draws Lucky Seven... Fantastic. And then the game throws you another NOT FREE NON-TUTORIAL BOSS I LITERALLY SCREAMED HELL FUCKING YEAH. Then Moebius K kicked my ass for 1 hour (in Hard Mode) yet I was still having the time of my life.
I was just about to to and watch Sarahs VOD of the ending. It broke me to million pieces and Sarah came to mind right after

Sometimes knowledge of past games can be a hindrance. In this case, don't overthink the crystals that are visible on Mio and Sena. Someone freaked out when they saw Taion had one in the latest Direct. All Agnian characters have a crystal somewhere. There is no conspiracy; it's just a trait they share.
But do freak out over Ethel. She is amazing AF.
I don’t think everyone has a core crystal from Agnus. Taion doesn’t have one. Teach doesn’t. Miyabi doesn’t seem to either. There are plenty of non-blade human characters from that side. And Gormotti that don’t have crystals. A lot of people in the game have left eye Irises and don’t have core crystals
@@rhettmitchell I don't know about Teach or Miyabi, but Taion is confirmed to have a crystal on his body. He looks more like a Blade Eater (see Zeke, Mikhail, etc.) than a proper Blade, but he does have one. Check his chest when he's wearing the DLC swimsuit.
@@rhettmitchell Teach has one on his cheek, though it’s covered by his hair, And Miyabi has a Squre core crystal on her chest directly under her neck.
I can’t wait to see Sarah’s reaction to the best cutscene in the game. It’s *so good* that you have to watch it like at least 5, maybe even more times! I have a feeling she’s going to love it! It’s so good, it’s even worth going to the events theatre for! :)

Ethel is just straight up mommy. Also bolearis could GET IT! Every character that is of any importance in this game is either ridiculously hot, absolutely adorable or just has a dope character design. Or a combo of the three.

- Something very surreal about the Moebius all hanging out at some old-fashioned theater. I'm all for that good-quality cheesiness.
- Fun fact: even though everyone can copy Noah's Veiled Sword with the Swordfighter class, their swords' hilts will be different - only Noah has Lucky Seven, after all.

Very few RPGs actually go out of their way to explain class changes within the context of the world of the game so the opening scenes of this chapter are great.

Personally Sena and Lanz are my 2 favorites. I kinda got a soft spot for the tough bruiser types. Though I admit I think Mio's the most interesting and has the most depth. Also I think she's the cutest.

I only noticed recently that Ethel's swords are not the same and it bugs me now lol 😆. One of them is like less than half the size of the other.
It's a parrying dagger, used as support for the main sword/rapier a duelist uses

@@Silon-g9b Basically. A shorter blade is more maneuverable, and the opponent has a harder time breaking a parry since you don't have a "weak" part. If you have a long blade, then someone can easily use your weapon as a lever, deliberatley attacking further out to break a porential parry or reposte.
Of course a longer weapon grants you more reach, but that isn't that useful if you are mainly using it to defend yourself, and using its edge or point only sparingly.

Poor Consul K, just being his fabulous self and Sarah is creeped out by him. Pretty funny reaction. Took me until the K stroked Noah's blade to get he was supposed to be fabulous. He's even more fabulous in the original audio.

I don't like the "predestined pairings" stuff man, it's like the one gripe I have with the game, it makes shipping the main characters in other constellations suck so much. Being a Mio x sena shipper of the 1st hour fucking blows, especially since this game is so straight the fandom's lowkey homophobic.
I didn't like Noah x Mio for like 4 chapters, i still don't rlly love the others, but there's just no avoiding it.
