@@mrs.redmondsartclass3220 It does have to be plugged in, and it can sense if your oil is hot and will wait to start filtering until it's cooled down, so it could take longer than my video showed because my oil was already at room temp.
@ I believe when you change that front dial from fry to filter the heat automatically turns off. I could be wrong, sorry don’t have the fryer in front of me right now.

How does the filter part get cleaned/replaced? Is there a filter, filter paper etc?
Good question, the filter is connected to the main basin basket and you can put that in the dishwasher or hand wash it. No need to replace a filter.

My fryer didn't filter all the oil, there is a lot oil still left in the machine.
Did the bottom tray fill all the way up? Maybe there was too much oil in your deep fryer?
Does it have to be plugged in to use the filtering mode? My has never end drain into the oil box 😢
