Can it be placed under gravel?

When can you turn on the Automatic Filtration? I want to know if I have to wait 3 hours before turning the selector dial, or if I can turn it right away (while still at 350 degrees) and it will know when it is cool enough to begin filtering on its own. Thank You.

The fryer pan holds more oil than the cleaning bin at the bottom. so dont be like me, i made a big mess the first time because I left it unattended to filter.

Mine don’t seem to be charging right, the red light after 5 hours or so having just bought it and charging it for the first time has not switched off. Furthermore it shows about 50% only on the phone/laptop. My understanding according to the instructions is that the red light goes off after about a 90% charge. I am wondering if it is faulty.
