Thanks for giving the date John, it’s just nice to know what day it is. 👍🙂
I always went mostly for feed barley, easy to grow good, weed competition , nice to harvest and you didn’t have to worry about getting into malt grade.
That damaged barley is healthy, it’ll grow out of that no problem.

Dear JH and the Lads, Henry & George and of course your Dad. Thank you for providing me with such amazing videos. I'm a huge fan of Esperance, Condingup, Wharton Beach, Cape Arid National Park. My wife is on a plane as I type this to Perth, to see her Dad and family. Unfortunately her Dad has been ill but he's on the mend.
It's lovely to see you JH so happy to be onto wheat. I never got to Cascade back in 2019 when I spent about 4 months in the above mentioned area's. I watched the boys and girls seeding at Condingup then too and wanted to be involved. The Wednesday night at the Condingup Tavern was just awsum chatting to all the young people involved in exactly what you boys are doing at Tom's Brook.
I'm a 52 year old Signwriter and enjoyed your signage episodes. I reckon they would've come from Top Signs there in Esperance opposite the big tall trees.
I also used to refill my van with diesel at the Case dealership, so I recognise some of the amazing equipment you have. I love what you're doing, it's incredible.
If you need a 52 year old who's not an idiot to sweep out the Fert shed, give me a holler...
    All the best, Matty 😁

Even though Canada has been metric since 1977 we still use psi acres a 5 and 10 gal nozzles on our sprayers.

when I was working for Flick Pest Control in Geraldton we used to be called in to spray paddocks before seeding and we used a mixture of Paraquat and Diquat and by the time you had done a run up and back you could see everything dieing. Even though we used PPE you would get nose bleeds from the mixture this was of course before safety was even bothered about.

Paraquat is awful stuff, why don't you use roundup?

Don't worry too much about the drift, see it as a warning not a F.U. Paraquat is a contact herbicide, not sistemic, and even if you wanted to kill the barley it wouldnt have been a good idea to use it as grass like weeds have their buds wrapped inside the older leaves so the product can't reach them. I've seen those freckled crops by paraquat drift in maize mostly.

Just noticed you only have 3 rows on the bar. I'm assuming the new one will have 4 roes that will help with stubble blocks.
I know every soile and farm are different but do you usually run the press wheels on the same notch throughout sowing only adjusting the ram stoppers (depth) or will you change them as needed. We just finished sowing today and the early signs are we have not done a good job with seed placemen, packing pressure and even brake out pressure. Good to see you have worked out what's good for you.

Very interesting all the processes that go on to grow hectares of different grains. I subscribed just at the end of last seasons crop. What fungicide sprays did you use for the powdery mildew? or if someone else could comment would be appreciated. Thanks.

I keep hearing about a new bar next year. It seems as though your current bar is doing quite well with no breakdowns or interruptions. Why are you getting a new bar and seed/fert tank? Thanks for sharing the video with us!!

No wonder the bar always blocks up with seed and fert hoses on the front of the shank not to mention it’s angling backwards not the best set up.
I don’t think your going to achieve much more going with seed master , liquid on the cart be the biggest improvement
