    Two points Tom, after saying thisTom Lamb Bale Baster is a first class idea.
    One. You need to acquire a baler that is destined for the scrap yard and do a live fire test on it, that will show how successful this system will be and get rid of all the doubters.
    Two. The hand held Lance needs fitting to a retractable air hose line real, so it’s always available and not stuffed in with the baler twine.
    Oh yes Three. What about talking to Knight Farm Machinery and Sprayers to see if you could get them on board. They’re local ! !
    This project is getting better and bigger by the day.
    Well done Tom. ⭐️🏆🥇

    I'm a nobody but this seems like a great idea especially with the integrated fire suppression. Not sure about the size of the hoses, i would assume that by having that size it would move a lot of air quickly but also empty that tank quickly , so maybe there is a good balance for still moving enough air without emptying the tank too quick. I guess testing will sort that out. Brilliant idea sir.

      Not only that, but the powder will be much better contained and do a far better job of extinguishing any fire. I know Tom left the doors open so he/we could see it go off, but the powder was spread quite wide of the machine afterwards.
      Doors closed means most of that would stay inside the machine where it was needed.

    We use "air knives" at work to essentialy dust down the cars before they enter the spray booths to be painted.... Might be an idea for the slip clutch multiple operations throught bailing on a timer instead of one big blast when you trigger it?

  • @flybywire5866
    @flybywire5866 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I work in the chemical industry. We had some training with fire extinguishers. Extinguishers with powder are better for outdoor use because the CO2 ones don't work well in open air, and less so if there is even a slight wind. The CO2 gets diluted too fast. In an enclosed space, they work well. We got told to use the CO2 indoors, and when the mess the powder creates does too much damage.
    Removed flammable material won't burn, just as you said, keeping the baler clean reduces the chance for disaster. Your system can easily prevent the potential loss of a baler plus a tractor plus the whole field and wherever such a fire spreads to. I saw an American farming video where a farmer destroyed crops by driving with his tractor & cultivator around a field fire to prevent the fire from spreading into other fields as well. Quite the risk he took, all that mostly dry straw and all the smoke.

    Such a good idea would be great to see it brought in across new equipment as you could have temp sensors and once it reaches a certain temp the fire extinguisher automatically deploys but honestly Tom great idea would be nice to have on a combine so you don’t have to blow down and get covered every night or in the morning before starting up

    Quality Idea Top Claas infact Tom ;) .... smaller hose / pipe to run along side of the air blowers pipework for the fire suppresion system ... smaller bore more back pressure more / longer blast of c02 (finger over hose pipe thing) and like vehicle fire suppression system that you can find that are plumbed in .... or you can / could use those Fire Extinguishing Balls as well... Arrr run the fire system seperate so its under the vehicle / machine (like break and fuel lines ) with jets facing up ward in the vehicle/ machine in key positions .... tick tick... tick ... no boom no smoke .... no fire ...

    Good day from New Brunswick Canada. The BALE BLASTER seems to be coming along famously. Glad to see you thought of the regulator and small outlets, this crossed my mind over coffee yesterday. • @mr.reflect1027
    @mr.reflect1027 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    The Idea is nice and the jets seem a lot more powerfull than these vortex-thingies that some manufacturers fit or the dealers ad for you. I think the powder-extinguishers could be more effective if the powder got ejected smidge slower than right now. The powder needs to settle on the burning material in order to suffocate the fire, so the less of it gets blown away the better. Glad to see you blow away the powder from testing, the stuff is highly corrosive because of some salts contained if i recall correctly. Farmers around my area have started to build some cool stuff with old pressure vessels(gas tanks, etc...), they weld a 3p-hitch to it and take it arround on the front linkage of the tractor thats baling. Its filled with water and put under pressure with air from the brakes, so you might be able to help yourself till the fire brigade gets to you if shit hits the fan. Time is sometimes the only thing saving equipment from total loss.

    Very impressed with the blower it will certainly keep the baler cleaner. From bitter experience most baler fires are caused by glowing red steel caused by bearings and friction surfaces. It may extinguish the fire but it will reignite in a very short time, but it should buy you time to get out with the water / foam. My advice from experience is you need to carry 2 big water or foam extinguishers as you need to take the heat out of the steel to keep the fire out.

    This is an awesome idea, and looks like it'll work well...... But if it doesn't, or refilling the air reservoir is an issue (or having a reservoir at all), it lookes like the leaf blower works really well, so if you can find a cheapo electric one, is it worth trying to mount one of those and use the high volume air, rather than high pressure air?
    You would probably need one in each location, but it may work on machines without air, or with no space for a tank?
