I was fortunate enough to train at Therien jujitsu/Thériault kickboxing in Vanier, On. JYT was an absolute pleasure to watch & listen to. Elegant power & humble for days. 1 of 2 French Canadian fight GOATs 🐐 (GSP but of course)

I don't think you can call an opinion a lie.
Interestingly, Theriault and Roufus were originally scheduled to fight as early as 1986. I think Joe Corley originally tried to book the match for the first Karatemania event in Atlanta - a full year before Roufus was a world champion.

@@mouseboxersclassickickboxing Roufas would have lost that fight he was too green and Theriault still in his prime by the time did happen Theriault was way past his prime and had constant injury issues

I don't take that for granted. Even in 1986, Roufus was still a higher quality fighter than the champ was used to facing. I agree that Theriault would probably have had the advantage, but he still would've been facing one of karate's very best.
Jean-Yves didn't lose their 1994 bout because he was old or injured. He lost because he unwisely didn't press his advantage after knocking Rick down, keeping his distance when he should have remained aggressive. He instead opted to fight a war of attrition against someone with tremendous stamina.

Seeing him with his wife chatting on the couch doesn't give a picture of the man in the ring knocking people into next week.
