OMG OMG OMG I have the perfect way of describing this puzzle: it’s done in quaternary, which is base 4. Each block has to go all the way out to let the next one move a little, and has to do it 4 times to let the next one all the way out. So the first block only needs 4 times to let the next one out, the next block needs 16 moves, and so on. That’s why it takes so many steps, it grows exponentially with each block

Doubt you see this so ima say this for people out there watching this page for the first time wondering and just bored like I was. I started watching about a year ago just scrolling and this page came up. This dude here's one of a kind. He not only solves puzzles with edited scenes but he actually has his own commentary. Other puzzle solvers are melotoner at best and it's like ok you solved the puzzle. This man goes above and beyond. Its refreshing with the beginning scene almost always being a behind the scenes magic trick. He solves them not knowing what's going on and gives you a brief history most of the time. Highly recommend

That was a pleasing puzzle to watch you solve.
I like that it's not just one simply trick or step, but a series. So it really takes some skill and attention to detail, instead of getting lucky and doing the one step to solve it.
I really hope that the way you solved it is the correct one and there isn't some crazy shortcut.

This sorta makes me think of The Tower of Hanoi [game] which is a purely mathematical thing but kind of fun to mess around with. The pattern is super obvious and you can easily write a program to do it for you but the number of moves for it increases by a lot for each extra ring. To be exact, the number of moves is 2^n -1. So 10 rings is.. 1023 moves. Anyways, the way the moves are done is similar in feel to your puzzle here and makes me wonder if the Tower of Hanoi was their inspiration when making the puzzle.
