    Extra notes:
    - The ADS FoV is completely independent of your FoV setting. This means your FoV setting doesn't really impact your ability to aim at all (at least with ADS), though some players may not enjoy the zoom-in-zoom-out effect (thanks to @androgynygoat for this one).
    - Your FoV doesn't just impact what you *see* but also what you *hear* since audio culling is based on your FoV. As such, on higher FoV you'll also be able to hear more enemies - for stealth this means catching important glows that you might otherwise miss and in loud this can mean the difference between hearing an attack and being able to react and prevent the damage (thanks to @Dinorush13 for this one).
    Also, if you want other settings you can change to easily give yourself an "advantage" check *First-person inertia amount* - lowering helps keep your flashlight pointing forwards, also disabling *Crouch tilt* and *Weapon relax pose* (keeps the sight more stable, especially good with thermals).

    imagine been a fucking fish (this post was made by 20 fov gang)

      Maybe speedrunners should start running min fov so they don't get distracted by enemies, like racehorses with blinders.

    1:41 worth mentioning that gun ADS FOV is independent of your regular FOV, whether you're at 20 or 120fov, if you aim down sights the result is the same. So the con only applies when hipfiring, which is likely going to be a minority portion of your gameplay

      That is very worth mentioning! Some may not enjoy the zoom-in-zoom-out effect, but it does mean whenever you ADS (which is most aim intensive scenarios) then your FoV doesn't even matter for your aim.

    Randomly found this video when looking for something else. Surprised this didn't mention another big reason for higher FoV - audio! Since enemies stop animating outside FoV for performance, this completely disables their footstep audio (and animations - turn towards them partway through and you'll see it end abruptly). Having a higher FoV to hear them is a massive boon, especially in poor lighting.

      @@Dinorush13 Bruh.
      I knew the audio culling had some angle based stuff but I did not know it was freekin FoV dependent. I'll add this in a pinned comment when YT lets me make pinned comments.

    Max FOV looks terrible in that game if I'm gonna play a game like that I want to have fun not eyesore

      As I say at ~3:40, if that's how you enjoy the game, then that's awesome. I just enjoy the game differently and the purpose of this video is to explain my point of view.

    Yea i dont play on max but i did turn it up quite a bit because i saw some solo players do it. Will probably turn it up a bit more now. Im trying to solo r1c1 so it might help

    • @tru0067
      @tru0067  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unlikely to help quite as much in a solo, especially on R1C1 - most of the enemies tend to be within a pretty small cone in front of you - but in general yes, good idea to do it if you're trying to be as good at the game as you can.

    I have increased my fov slightly to 90 since your first video and it has helped a bit with seeing but i still find myself bumping enemies after 60 hours of playing with it 😢

    • @tru0067
      @tru0067  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does take a lot of getting used to. Compare the 60 hours on the new FoV to the time you have on the old one. And while there are some good benefits if the switch is too annoying then it's not something that is required by any means.

    imagine if this game were actually good and not mishandled by the devs....

    • @tru0067

      I've certainly got a lot of enjoyment out of it. I think they've done a great job for their first game as a brand new studio.
      My biggest issue earlier on was the FOMO style of removing the old rundowns, but they've completely fixed that with the ALT rereleases.
      Nowadays I think my only persistent issue is some checkpoint door related desync bugs, but I also typically play on very high ping so that's kinda understandable.
