Glad you watched/listened to the one with the original drummer, Mike Portnoy. The later one with Mike Mangini is good too, but there's no replacing Portnoy, and the sound is better with this one IMO. If you're sticking with DT, "Change of Seasons" from this concert is epic too but very long. Also, might consider checking out a band called "Liquid Tension Experiment", a 4 piece super group with the keyboardist, drummer, and guitarist from Dream Theater, and Tony Levin, the bassist from King Crimson, and who's an amazing session player. "When the Water Breaks" is an incredible song.
@@PomadeJam Cool! On a personal note since you know who LTE is, have you seen the videos on YT of a tour Portnoy did in 2012 with Billy Sheehan, Derek Sherinian on keys, and Tony Macalpine on guitar? They did a killer "Change of Seasons/Acid Rain" medley that's definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. More Tool vids too, lol.
@@medhead964 YES! What a killer lineup that was. Their precision playing together is almost unbelievable. I’ve been a macalpine fan since his first album.
Thanks for the nice reaction to Dream Theater. If you like progressive music you might enjoy the Japanese power trio Sokoninaru. They are a Japanese math-ish group that blends math-rock elements with really smooth J-pop vocals. They have a very modern and unique sound that is somewhat addictive and watching them perform is very inspiring. The MV for Tenohira De Oduru has over 3 million TH-cam views and really show cases their skills. Thanks again!
- What is the time signature ?
- ...Yes.
- Yes ? You mean 4/4 ?
- No, i mean all of them.
Ha!

Thanks! Yeah, I like the other version too, but I really love Portnoy. I’ll have to do some LTE for sure, great suggestion.
