I don't know why the game industry insists on making players put HOURS into the game before they let you loose and have fun. But 4+ hours to unlock the block ability in a melee combat focused games is ridiculous!
Exactly! For a game like this, it would've been so much better to have given the player a lot more utility from the getgo, instead of gating those aspects arbitrarily. I really hope devs start looking to these newer retro games (like Blasphemous or Boltgun) for how to hook player engagement from minute 1
