    As someone who has live in Alaska their whole life (38 years) and is very familiar with the weather conditions from south central Alaska all the way to Prudhoe Bay. I can honestly you are making the right choice heading up here later. In the year. Only downside will be more mosquitoes!

  • @gregg9135
    @gregg9135 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Hi Ryan! I enjoy your channel and hope you make it to Alaska. FYI
    The BLM 14-Day Rule for Camping
    You can stay a maximum of 14-days in a 28-day period within a 25-mile radius…
    The 28-day period begins once you set up camp.
    You can stay a maximum of 14-days within that 28 day period.
    Once you’ve exhausted those 14-days, you cannot return to that same area until after the 28 day period expires.
    “Same area” is defined as a 25-mile radius (air miles) from your campsite.
    This was copied from the Boondocker's Bible
    Cheers

    • @FEARNoMore
      @FEARNoMore ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's what I thought. 14 days (or shorter depending on the limit) then stay out for a specific amount of time depending on whether it's a state or federal park. I think Rangers record you license plate and roughly track it from the time they spot it to about the stay limit and will warn and or give you a ticket. That happened to a YTbr living in an ambulance. He played dumb with the ranger lying about how long he'd been there. But the Ranger took a photo of when he first spotted his ambulance & gave him 14 days from that point.

    I say postpone because not everyone has the ability to travel freely whether it’s money or other things and this is very good way to show off the rest of americas beauty to everyone in the US and the world where ever they may be and I feel postponing the trip is the best option for everyone and especially you so you wouldn’t have to rush anything and you yourself could also see all these cool spots in America. Anyway just my thoughts love the vids love how far you’ve come been watching since I think abt your 3rd or 4th vid posted keep it up bro 🤙

    i almost feel I’m travelling with you. your videos are so real. i love the diverse scenery & trivia detail you share. i’m Australian & getting to know America’s geography quite well because of TH-cam vlogs, Google Maps, a couple of trips there my spouse & I have done separately. I travel & hike Eastern Australia less now due to my age. But i can enjoy camper vanning trips i fantasise about through your eyes. you are lucky to be young, in control of your time & have such a fully-equipped modern van. America is a country of long distances, crowding at popular spots, varying rules & extremes of cold compared to what we’re used to here. Flexibility is key. I wish you safe further travel. you seem very well planned for the unexpected. my fears from own experiences are not being able to find suitable camping sites or getting bogged & immobilised.

    Ryan, I agree that you should do what you want most, but I do think you should try and wait for the Alaska drive until later. As a Canadian who has been to a variety of the Canadian west coast, the conditions for camping can be quite unpredictable during the spring as the snow is melting and there is a lot of water travelling through roads/campsites, trails that wouldn’t be as bad a month or two down the line. If you’re into craft beer, Superflux is the way to go in the Vancouver area!

    To avoid tearing up when cutting onions put the onion in the fridge. When they're cold they don't release the chemical that causes you to tear up. Been doing this for many years and the fridge temp doesn't negatively effect the onion

    I highly advise you to be in Alaska in the may through July time window. Alaska in June is the best June 22 is the longest day of the year. You could even go to Fairbanks for there yearly midnight baseball game that’s starts at midnight. You would miss so much about what makes Alaska great if you quickly got here in early early spring and quickly turned around and left. You gotta spend like a month here if you can.

    As someone living in Calif as all this horrific weather happens, I'd say you'd be wise to wait and you'd probably enjoy it more later on. It'd be a beautiful and much more enjoyable ride if you get to stop and do the things you actually wanted to do. Doesn't seem all that fun to do that kind of drive when you're going to miss half the stuff you were looking forward to. The fact that you're even thinking about it is an indication that you might want to wait. Wishing you all the best and good vibes for a safe ride!!!

Lots of oriental type of meals are a way to go and yes enjoy those massive sandwich’s to pizza’s you eat. Love the challenge or comparisson of a fast food to your version. Hey Ryan, you should definitely take advantage of all the beautiful scenery and do a daily jog around. Start with 1mile then work your way up in preparation of your marathon. Jogging on a gym treadmill vs outdoor on the open road has a total different feel. Plus, you won’t get complacent of just being inside the van most of the day. You may dislike jogging, but once you get better, you will begin to love it. A baby step each day is all it takes.

    Dude, don't forget to rinse the bok choy. Also, if you rinse the onion after peeling it, it should help with the tears. Add a wet paper towel next to the onion to absorb the fumes.
