Best sounding RM I’ve ever heard. Most sounds like pick ups with exhaust. 👍🏾

Your LS3 wagon sounds fantastic…Magnaflow builds great exhaust systems.
I have Magnaflow catback systems on my 2000 LS1 Firebird Trans Am and 2007 Lexus SC430 V8.
I really like the quiet “sleeper” sound for cruising, but the way it really opens up when I go to WOT…the best of both worlds.

I think it sounds good closed

Yeah, definitely not bad. The open has a little more bass tone, but both modes fit my needs and tastes.

I have flow masters on my LT1 caprice wagon. I’ve taken it through so hills on the highway and it drones when under load in 4th. But in the middle of Ohio it’s flat so it’s not an issue for me.

I love the way flowmasters sound during acceleration. I had a flowmaster on this wagon on the stock system and had to put the oem resonator back. The whole car vibrated at highway speeds, hahaha.
But I’m now curious what any of these - an LT1 or an LS - would sound like with these Helmholtz chambers and flowmasters. Might be a winning combo.

Also, without exhaust tips to final tune the exhaust. You'll have drone. An oval style tip almost gets rid of it

i love your car. nice work. i think you might have eliminated the drone using the Borla XS mufflers and borla resonators in the stock location. I have a 96 SS with the LT1. The Car has a X pipe and i have used different mufflers already. Magnaflow Droned the Worst out of the All the mufflers i tried on my car.
After driving/listening to a customers 96 SS with Borla Resoantors and Pro XS Mufflers,... that is what i am switching to next. The car has no drone at all. Its really quiet.

      That’s great know, thank you!
I love Borla stuff too but had the fortune to work with Magnaflow on this build so went in that direction.

Also did you see what that LS3 swapped Roadmaster wagon brought on bring a trailer a few weeks ago?

Definitely. I was talking to the owner the whole time; we became friendly during my swap after he commented in my forum thread. It was very exciting.

All that seems like way overkill, i have a 5th gen ls3 camaro ss with longtubes no cats xpipe and turbo mufflers with no drone and sounds deep and mean... i love your build tho that car is awesome

Thanks, man. And I hear you. I can only imagine how great your ls3 sounds.
From what i understand, tuning an exhaust in a car where the motor was engineered to be there creates a little more flexibility in what you can do (assuming you have factory mounts, sound deadening, etc). For me dealing with an aftermarket motor and poly mounts on this frame/chassis, the whole thing was resonance prone. Really, the Helmholtz fixed everything and I could probably go louder now. But I enjoy the stealth nature of it when my foot isn’t in it. Cheers!

How much did that end up costing, if you don't mind me asking. I'm wanting the sleeper sound with the remote... Mild to wild.. 95 caprice wagon with a 6.2 and a stage 2 cam system

There’s another video in the playlist where we covered costs but a little hard to tell bc Magnaflow covered most of the labor involved. But you can look up most of the parts on there website.
      Congrats on your build!

That's nice but way too busy of a system for an average guy, and I don't think all that would fit under a late model Camaro.

they have a dedicated xMod system for Camaros rather than having to do a universal kit like we used in this. The key difference is that stock cars already have engineering built into them to reduce NVH and then Magnaflow custom tunes systems for specific vehicles. Since this is an LS swap with a universal system, all the extra effort needed to happen on our end of the equation, if that makes sense.
