Hey Rusty, it’s Lee Moses from Randsburg. Thanks so much for posting this setup. I just trashed my Epson 7900 before placing an order for a Canon pro-2100. Your setup tutorial will be very useful. Thanks again, stay well.
Hey Lee great to hear from you. Hope all is well up there. Hope to get back up there sometime next year for sure. Been too long. Let me know how it goes with the 2100.
The new printer arrived in good shape. A friend helped me beam it up to the second floor. It was much easier to handle than the Epson, they are very much over engineered. The Canon’s casing is mostly plastic so there is no unneeded weight due to overuse of sheet metal. In a few days I shall initialize it. Your setup information will save me a lot of time. Oh yeah, order more ink and a tank, got it.
Ok, it took most of the day but I am done initializing the 2100. Canon’s control interface on the printer and on the computer is impressive. I could be a complete technophobe and still figure this out. I agree completely with you Rusty that installing the drivers and firmware from the U.S. Canon site is best. The Media Configuration Tool is actually useful, unlike Epson’s so called tools, but enough of that. The touch screen options have great depth and thankfully there are no mechanical push buttons to maneuver through them. This machine is very well thought out. The support software is logically designed and the user guide is actually usable.
Finally I am able to actually use ICC files the right way. I researched to find out in which folder these files live. I also found out that the MCT is coded to block the display of that folder. By trial I learned that MCT will find any non-Canon ICC from any download folder, but for Photoshop to see the new ICC one must manually copy it to the Windows system folder hierarchy. I must say that when this machine is actually tuned to a specific paper the result is outstanding. I am seeing detail in deep shadows and some ink deposited in areas that were completely blown out before. I am most impressed by the MCT’s functionality and broad options. Now Photoshop can properly describe the image to the printer according to the profile, and the printer can properly execute instructions from the driver according to the ICC file that is successfully located in the system folder, after manually placing it there. This is a great day. Thanks Rusty.
Great. There are so many little things that need to be checked off as you print that I believe that there are many people that are not setup right on any kind of printer.
Wow! To be honest, I am really wanting to get a 4000, but my place is tiny which won’t allow me to do it. It is amazing, thank you rusty, I am recently planning to get a professional printer for my own, your videos becoming my preparation guide!
Thanks Bert. I'll be doing some new vids on printing here really soon along with some of the software I use. So make sure you are subscribed to get the update. Thanks for the note.
I can't seem to get the xps drivers to work on one computer, while it works fine on the other computer. The colors are obviously not as good on the computer where the xps drivers seem to not be working. Any ideas?
Hard to tell from here but... You need to load the XPS driver after the other drive. I found that I had to remove the drivers and reinstall for various reasons. I would also call Canon they are good about answering the phone.
Canon Pro-521 and Canon Pro 2100 are the same?, i am going to buy Pro 521 but there are no Installation videos for that printer, your videos is really helpful, If 521 and 2100 are the same i would use this same process.
As far as I know they are really close. there are a few things that may be a little different but the great thing is that the canon printers will walk you through as you install. Use the downloads for the software for the 521 as the firmware on the dic is always outdated. Best of luck and let us know how it goes. Rusty
I am trying to move my pro 2000 with a truck so I selected move to outdoors. But I get a error message :consumables must be replaced, and preparation is disabled. If the message appears, tap OK and contact your Canon dealer for assistance. Please help me! I had the truck guy all ready for tomorrow 😥 I even have 2 extra maintenance tanks i knew it would need..
Very hard to help you out but are your inks low? I had to replace some of my inks because they were to low. I know it sounds strange but I believe the printer actually pumps some ink into the head while it is preparing to do its thing for transportation.
I would be very interested to hear what Canon says or said about the "consumables". Ie...can this just be corrected by putting in a new cart. I was also wondering if you have low warning signs on any of your carts. Will be interesting for a few people for sure. Thanks for so much with the update when it comes. Good luck Rusty
@@RustyNelsonPhotography Canon said it could be a few different things, even the printhead! And that a service man needs to delete this error prior to me moving it (in the right way). However I still have hope , since I have 2 inks with the low signal,so I bought new ones and ill go try it next week, since I moved and the printer stayed behind. I was also very anxious since the printer hadn't worked for over 20days because there is no electricity there! I always try to print every few days, ive never left it for so long, but this machine is unbelievably strong! It did a pretty long cleaning cycle and that was it,not even a faulty grid!! Will keep you posted 😀
@@angelsmokee Just so you know I have left my printer for well over a month while I was out storm chasing and did not have any problems...BUT that was me. Not saying its the best idea. I use a program also now called Qimage that you can schedule it to print purge sheets while you are out. Great layout and printing program. Love it. Here is a discount link also. www.ddisoftware.com/qucustomer/Rusty/ When you go to start it up again I would pull all the inks out... I have done this before on a ?error7300? and it cleared. I unplugged it and hit the power button 10 times. Why...it clears any little unhappy electrons out. I had errors before and actually did above a couple of times. Wish you the best and keep in touch. Rusty
I can not tell you as that would depend on how much space / color you are printing. I will tell you that the carts seem to last longer then the ones in the pro 1000. BUt they are a great deal larger. I do not keep track of how much ink I use like some people do. I will tell you that when you first start it up they do use a great deal of ink to prime the pumps so to speak. But there is a large amount kept in the lines to and in the head. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3orJrgp
Nice video :) i use an Canon Pro 2000 for my printing , an amzing machine for my printis - and if i want lager i use a Durst P5 with an Aristo LFC 3332C :)

Hi! How much can I print with starter inks?
