Thanks you guys so much. I’m a more grateful and flattered dude because of you all. These comments really help keep me inspired and motivated. Knowing I’m going in anywhere close to the right direction is great! Thanks again! GT
Absolutely man! Please keep it going. For goodness sakes... so Look forward to your videos, and can’t wait to catch you live. And get lessons... list goes on. No doubt you’re heading the right direction.👍👈👈
This is like watching my wife type. I can't even think that fast, let alone get my fingers to go along. I'm sure some of that can be taught, but there's a whole bunch of giftedness on display right there!
Amazing!!! I love watching him blow . But this one brought tears to my eyes. Very moving improv. I think he just may have gods hands. As a 65 year old guitarist I was speechless to hear him not only wanting but glad to share and pay it foward even while he’s trying to make a living. Thanks Guthrie
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better! Mind...blown! Amazing stuff! Inspiring me to pull out my old classical guitar chops and incorporate it into my playing!! Just wow!
The magic tele returns! So nice. There's a little more blues in the opening jam than normal. What a treat! I really love what you're doing here with the channel. You're such an inspiration for others to take up the instrument...and a class act too. I hope you enjoy the show this weekend. Break a leg!
That is the craziest shit I think I've ever seen you play and you've played some crazy shit before. Almost unbelievable in fact, I've been looking at your clips I think for almost as long as you've posting and I get the feeling you're just getting better and better with each new post, great stuff.
Man you give some amazing insights, and I have to say your artist works course is phenomenal, anyone that is on the fence here should absolutely try it out!
To me one of the most touching of your performance is Commodity at Music Roots Live, this performance was so musical, so intense and sensitive that I jump on to find more about this wonderful artist Guthrie Trapp
First things first, Guthrie, proves imo. why he is hands down one off the most naturally gifted musicians. Effortless in technique and timing the most versatile fluent on the spot composer of our time. Truly inspirational always giving back and a joy to listen to.
As I try to plant this one in my brain in a way That I might be able to find it, I am thinking ahah, a way to move horizontally to a place that is convenient to move vertically! Thanks for posting 😎
Yeah I’m always enjoying and listening intently to your improv. Today I’m not sure what I was doing , it was phenomenal. Really no other words , thanks for everything you share.
Thanks for the clarification on this. Great stuff . Thank you for being so generous with your talent. Merci beaucoup pour la leçon .Le bonjour de France ....
Thanks again. These videos work well with AW lessons. Somehow some bits of Theory (like leaving the 6 out off pentatonic) stands out more clearer here🎸💥 Thanks, I hope the Gibbons stuff really breaks through!
I posted this on his other videos but a great practice song is Creep by STP. Dean plays virtually no solo over the acoustic version. And it has a great mix of chords which progress slowly. C B7 Em7 G Am etc.
3:59 to 4:19 time stamp. Beauty. Would love to know that progression. thanks for sharing your knowledge realizing what was important for you at one point.
Damn Son.... that opening - so good! At the start I thought "he must be getting paid by the note" as you were tearing it up but then you switched gears and took it every which way. Great playing - very inspirational to me as a fellow picker. Gave me more than a few ideas to ponder and try out. Thanks for posting this one!
Fantastic playing. A little bit a everything. I even heard a little Mahavisnu orchestra in there some where. It's always a pleasure to hear a guitarplayer that can make is playing float on and always connected.
Guthrie, really love your hybrid and flat- and chicken-pickin but I feel that your bending (like 3:30) is really great and shows your soul! Would love to hear more of that! 🎸✌🏽
Some great ideas in these lessons. Less 'You must do it this way' and more 'Well, how about trying this? Or this?' We call this 'Guided Discovery' in the sports coaching world but it works well in all branches of teaching.
Great playin, great lesson, and great stories. You're one of the best on here. Love to buy Artist Works, but when you convert from Canadian bucks it gets a little out of my price range at the moment. But I'm workin on it. Have a blast with Billy, love that guy too.
Burnin it down to prep up for Billy's gig. Get em G! This is without a doubt my fav version of you just flowing freely, little chicken, little grease, fried up really nicely. P'cola pedal going for $1500...... I'll be damned.
Love your work Guthrie. Curious if you would be willing to explain your audio/video recording setup? I like to keep it simple and I'm just looking for a way to share with friends and an upload here or there. Thanks for keepin' at it!
GT, watched this one again. Great sounds here. I reckon you should do a taster video on mixing major and minor pentatonics. I think it features heavily in your playing , along with “outlining the chords”. Would love to hear your insights and approach to mixing major and minor pentatonics. Ie when to do it and off which intervals you like to switch.
As so many have (rightfully) pointed bout already, the intro playing was amazing Guthrie! There is something so beautiful about this guitar too. You had it refretted right? Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom and experience with us!
excellent master Trapp , especially at 1:11 ! a don't use to hear that kind of lick from you Guthrie . Is it diminished or altered ? ( like gypsy jazz ) Hi from Paris !
GT Shreds the tele like no other, and it is easy to learn from his vibe and wisdom.
Thanks you guys so much. I’m a more grateful and flattered dude because of you all. These comments really help keep me inspired and motivated. Knowing I’m going in anywhere close to the right direction is great! Thanks again! GT
Ur my favorite please keep doing what ur doing much love ❤️
Absolutely man! Please keep it going. For goodness sakes... so Look forward to your videos, and can’t wait to catch you live. And get lessons... list goes on. No doubt you’re heading the right direction.👍👈👈
Absolutely brilliant lesson Guthrie... Thank you for your videos. Cheers Marty from Melbourne🇦🇺
That opening jam was some of the best stuff you've ever put out on this channel. Damn fine stuff, Guthrie.
100% Correct!
I could listen to that kind of noodling all day long.
The only player that can play 5 minutes straight in multiple videos and never repeat licks. Incredible really
and most of them are fresh and interesting. Not sure if motivating or depressing.
@@mrblank-zh1xy it motivates inspires and depresses me. all at the same time!
The only channel where NOBODY fast forwards past the intro! Thanks dude!
The thumb down option shouldn’t even exist! Your the best G-man! Making Nashville proud.
I never quite got my breath back from the opening jam! Brilliant!
Please never stop the intro improv jam!
I could put that intro on a loop and listen to it ALL...DAY...LONG! Incredible playing.
Man, his right hand technique is just phenomenal. As are his improv skills. It's an honor to watch.
One of the most gifted players of the generation - phenomenal and emotional every time
Wow, that improv in the intro is outstanding!
World class playing here, that intro was memorising
Guthrie's playin is like a breeze, a wind that u can feel and breathe only at the top! Unique.
Congrats on your gig with Billy Gibbons Guthrie! So glad Nashville is open for business and musicians can finally make a living here again!
This is like watching my wife type. I can't even think that fast, let alone get my fingers to go along. I'm sure some of that can be taught, but there's a whole bunch of giftedness on display right there!
Wow that little gem at the end is like music from heaven.
Very nice.
Love, love, love the improv at the start of the video. You're awesome, man!
Probably the best guitar playing I’ve ever heard. Thanks GT
Amazing!!! I love watching him blow . But this one brought tears to my eyes. Very moving improv. I think he just may have gods hands. As a 65 year old guitarist I was speechless to hear him not only wanting but glad to share and pay it foward even while he’s trying to make a living. Thanks Guthrie
some of the best and most musical guitar playing i have ever seen. wow.
Yes! Guthrie! 👍 … tellin it with a Tele..🎸😊
O yes he is god damn it..
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better! Mind...blown! Amazing stuff! Inspiring me to pull out my old classical guitar chops and incorporate it into my playing!! Just wow!
You’re so good! I told you before… These changings between chords and single notes is what I still don’t get right.
Guthrie you make the internet worthwhile. Hoping one day to come to Nashville to see you play. Have a great Sunday with Gibbons.
The magic tele returns! So nice. There's a little more blues in the opening jam than normal. What a treat! I really love what you're doing here with the channel. Wow!! I'd say you touched all the bases. Grand Slam Jam!
Great talent combined with great teaching! Thanks a lot
I'll be in Nashville June 10th-14th. Hope you might be playing somewhere during that time....
Fantastic! And looks so easy.
You should put out an album of these solo improvisations, they need nothing more
Ah, Guthrie. That's just all kinds of Beautiful. Thank you.
Gifted and a lot of hard playing...equals a brilliant guitarist = Mr Guthrie Trapp ! Wow 🙏🏼😎
I'm gonna have to throw a study on them pentatonic connections. Thanks Sir
@GuthrieTrapp ....... You started out as my favorite teacher... Your definitely one of my top guitar players!!! Sooooo good.
Thanks again. These videos work well with AW lessons. Somehow some bits of Theory (like leaving the 6 out off pentatonic) stands out more clearer here🎸💥 Thanks, I hope the Gibbons stuff really breaks through!

Oh my gosh! You’ve got Landgraff’s DOD No.11! Your play is awesome as usual and that pedal information amazed me a lot!
Just gifted harmonic playing Guthrie....outstanding

Guthrie T. kicks butt!
115-130 way cool.. lots of other amazing spots and, of course, all of the other places!!
You Sir are a monster guitarist……only one word……Wow!
Incredible. Dude, you play so well it hurts my feelings a little. Hahahaha!
As so many have (rightfully) pointed bout already, the intro playing was amazing Guthrie! There is something so beautiful about this guitar too. You had it refretted right?
Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom and experience with us!
Great playing like always. :-) Love it
You’ve always got the best tone Guthrie. Is your tone control on your guitar full or do you back it off?
You’re the most melodic player I’ve ever heard.
excellent master Trapp , especially at 1:11 ! a don't use to hear that kind of lick from you Guthrie .
Is it diminished or altered ? ( like gypsy jazz )
Hi from Paris !
