Can I ask a noob question: why did you put a Gmaj7 chord right before the F#7? I can see that it fits in the key Bm in terms of the notes, but what is it's function there?

it's just a tasty variation on the traditional 1-4-5 - you'll find this move in the Thrill is Gone as well :)
