This was a trend back in 2008-2010 ish. I made alot of deco art phone cases. They were very popular in Japan and they seem to be making a come back...now if they only readd the "charm" slots!
My case has a charm spot, but it's like on the side, near the bottom corner, not around the mobile mast/ antenna. /me showing my age....
My phone case has a charm slot and even though I don't have any charms I adore the fact that it's there.
I just used regular silicone and piping tips/bags and make a silicone icing boarder on my paintings 🥰 it’s one of my favourite parts of creating my pieces.
Edit: omfg I almost commented that you guys forgot to sand it and then you remembered! WHEW!😂
you guys should totally do more decoden and make your own cream. its easy to make with store bought silicone caulk and you can make your own colours, even use transparent silicone!
I’ve made decoden from silicone before, but I always have trouble colouring it, what would you recommend for doing so?
@@charliemayfilms1550 I feel like powder coloring or acrylic paint would work well! I wonder if you could use an alcohol based coloring but I don’t know how it would look mixed together or if the silicone would reject the alcohol like it does with water. I wouldn’t use anything water based. Acrylic coloring would work perfectly im sure
@@auntbecky7649 I typically use alcohol ink when mixing silicone for decoden and it works great!

Glow-in-the-dark googly eyes are awesome. I have a tin of emergency ones somewhere in my craft bin. I love how Katelyn's turned out and Evan's turned out appropriately cursed and adorable. Perfect for spooky season, too.

You can absolutely do decoden with just regular silicone, you can color it with stuff like acrylic paint and glitter! I have some little resin heart charms I decod one side of and I love them a lot
This may be the best presentation of a sponsored product I've seen, the footage is actually super good. I knew phones have good cameras, but I wouldn't have expected this level of quality. Great video!
I was constantly distracted by how terrible the depth of field was and how things where not too sharp aha.. Also there's what seems to be multiple graphical glitches from the pixel's sections too lmao
I actually find these extended ads to be a bit insulting. I get we all have to make a living, but it feels like a make-work project to get that sweet ad dollars instead of a genuine project. I really like these two, but I want to see them do passion projects that challenge them, not just fluff phone cases every week to sell me a product.
@@crazylegsmurphy I think the totalboat sponsor is like, the only "extended ad" I like, mostly because it is something critical to their projects so it seems like it's a good enough quality for them to constantly use like this, and it's not also constantly brought up - it's just there. But this pixel one was bad. It gave a bad video quality and was constantly pushed throughout.
@@skylarkblue1 I have a lot of respect for creators who sponsor the products they enjoy and use by using them. For example, I trust Adam Savage because when he tells me a product he uses is good, I know he is saying it because it is relevant and he uses it. Videos like this feel like the creators are more interested in paying for their giant closets than they are creating something awesome they are inspired by. Beating me over the head with a phone ad for 18 minutes doesn't convince me this is a product that I should consider and it kinda makes me not want to watch them. There are so many great creators out there that deserve views, I'm not sure I want to spend time watching ones that are just trying to sell me crap they don't actually use or care about.
@@skylarkblue1 What is kinda worse, is if you read through these comments there are so many obvious Google bots that are commenting on the phone. No actual person would be like, "OMG, the phone quality is amazing!" This entire thing has a bad stench.

unless it's a safety hazard, I'm really intrigued about the gummy gummies! can squishy resin be a possibility for future projects or is that simply not the case
Im pretty sure its a safety thing
uncured resin is toxic (or at the very least quite bad for your health)
Uncured resin is toxic, BUT!! Sophie & Toffee does have a form of resin that is squishy once it's cured. It's still a bit experimental and is therefore temperamental, but it can still make end products and they're always trying to improve it.
At that point why not just go with silicone or oogoo?

I believe those things are opaque while resin products can be clear.

Fur has a wool like under coat which adds warmth. Wool has a crimp to it which helps it felt or stick to itself. 😊

Those gummies on the other case look good enough to eat! :3 I think I would find myself getting gummy bears at the store more using that one. :) Now I'm curious to see a comparison of this 'official' version of the whipped cream stuff and a DIY version with silicone from a store and dye and glitter.

I think its the colors but Evan's case makes me think of cheese. Like Cheez Whiz, the spray cheese kind. It's cool. You could add like a fake round cracker sticking out of it on the side like a little hat or something hah
I made my phone case using pressed flowers, stickers, nail decals, and UV resin! Its so pretty, and I get to show off my pretty red phone!!

I LOVE using decoden on every case I have - phone case, tablet case, ect. I like making my stuff look fun and cute while customizing it so it can't be mistaken for anyone elses. I both make and buy the sweet treat charms to put on mine or dig through the dollar toy bins looking for super tiny toys to use for these projects too.

I wonder if you could still use the failed gummy bears by putting them inside something. Like pour clear resin over them so they're visible, but it doesn't matter that they're not hard. I don't know if that would mess up the setting of the clear resin though.

The deco-den cream is very similar to silicone from what I understand. I use silicone caulk with micapower to make my cream for my stuff so if you run out then that’s a way to get more

At first I didn't even realize it was filmed on the Pixel camera. The "Shot on Pixel 7 Pro" caption was the first thing that gave it away. And later, the only things that gave it away were just constant mentions of the fact and seeing you holding the phone. Other than that, it seemed as if it were recorded using your regular camera. The quality felt equal. 👌

I’ve seen 2 TH-camrs with that phone now. I kinda tuned out phone ads for a while now. No idea what’s out. Putting them in TH-cam videos and using Them is kinda really effective. I could never afford this phone, nor do I need it. But it does give me temptations to buy it.
