As a former crew member I want to thank you for sharing this, Don, on behalf of the tens of thousands of colleagues from this industry who had such a nightmare period! And is not over yet... Many are still desperate for not having alternatives in their countries, especially the poor ones. I can read from them how eager most are to just get back to work, regardless the restrictions they need to face, like no shore leave for full contract and getting tested once or twice a week, every week, not allowing to have much social life on board... despite all these draconian rules they still want to do it, working 10-12 hours a day, 7/7, no free day at all, for making you guys having a happy holiday, and as reward, yes, they get a salary to send home for making a decent life for their family. Thank you Don!
We are lucky here in the US to have been paid throughout the pandemic. My mum sent some money to a contact of hers in Uganda who couldn't afford to eat properly after losing her job during covid. We forget this is not just a spontaneous holiday.

I’ve only ever been treated with courtesy & respect by all members of the staff/crew on all the 12 cruises I have been on. We both count ourselves lucky to be back at work cruising the world., but it was a long 15 months of uncertainty as we tried to get info from anywhere about our futures. I have been on a few cruises and have to say that I still remember the guy assigned to my cabin back in 1999. His name was Arnil and he totally made our cruise special. At that time we couldn’t afford a nice ship, so it was a crap Sunquest ship called the MS Carousel, but it didn’t matter because we had the time of our lives. Arnil was a huge part of that. God bless all people who work so hard on the cruise ships.

Without the crew and the Staff there would be no cruise and they truly are the reason we all enjoy our cruises They love what they do and they genuinely are passionate and vigilant about ensuring we enjoy the entire experience …We need to remember that these cruises are thier livelihoods and helps them to support thier Families that they rarely see when they are on board working

Such a wonderful letter! I feel that so much because I was supposed to start my first contract on the Grand Princess June 2020 and was crushed it got cancelled. I'm thankful I got another contract and will be joining the Emerald Princess on Sept 27 💙 but yeah this is a reminder to just be kind to eachother because we don't know eachothers situations. I started watching you and Tony and Jenny during the beginning of pandemic and now look forward to your upcoming TH-cam videos and live streams as my hubby and I really miss cruising. We are in Montreal and we were set to sail on RCI March 2020….the rest as you know is history. We have rebooked another RCI cruise for this Xmas/New Years from Barbados but not feeling optimistic as so much can happen between now and December. Feel another credit coming our way. Nevertheless, you three have made me feel optimistic and have enjoyed your recent cruising restart and the wealth of information and stories. You all make my day when I do get to watch you. As for the crew members on all past few cruises we have been on, we have only fond memories and have been very impressed with the care and attention given to us by the staff through the ship. We are new at cruising since 2017 yet completely hooked as my husband never thought he would enjoy it and now we can’t wait to safely cruise once again. Keep up the fine work you all do on TH-cam as your personalities are infectious and hope one day to meet you all in person. We have all taken so much for granted with this pandemic. As long as we are healthy, we live with hope that travel is in our future….cruising specifically. Thanks Don for all that you do. If I am lucky, I will be going on my 55 th cruise with Princess on January 19, 2022. The crew members are wonderful. I have been fortunate to see cabin stewards, dining room personal and others when I get onboard that I have cruised with before. We hug as if we are friends who haven’t seen each other for awhile. They are such very special people.

Whenever I cruise I always bring something for my stateroom attendant and I just got back from a RC cruise and I gave my stateroom attendant a little gift bag of toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, chocolates etc. He was going to cry.....it was as if he won the lottery. He was so grateful. He made a roses out of tissue paper which made me cry.
I was in the Celebrity Equinox August 1, 2021. I brought our room attendant a gift bag with laundry pods, fabric sheets, stain remover & chocolates . I even gave her a magnet I made with our city/state on it, the first day. She was so very appreciative, it made her so happy. Most crew can not leave the ship for 6-12 weeks, so getting necessities is difficult & expensive.
We need to always remember how fortunate each and every one of us is that we've made it through this crisis. The people on the cruise ships work extremely hard and I never for one minute take anything they do for granted. Your video has touched me deeply. Let's keep sailing as much as we can and support those great people that crew the vessel. I know many of them send their money home to their families as you said to provide a better life for their loved ones. Anyway happy sailing everybody and thanks again Don for your touching video

Thank you Don. So so many who cruise take the crew for granted. I have made friends with many crew over the years and the past two years have had so many different affects on their lives. Breast cancer, divorce, babys and death. My best bud Sergii was sent home to the Ukraine and contracted COVID and passed away at 35. I used to choose cruises he was on. He was always so happy and positive. On one cruise we had four friends one being the FB manager. This was a 23 day cruise and it just makes it more fun to have familiar faces. What a wonderful letter to receive and again thank you for highlighting how much they contribute to a cruise. 😃
I just returned yesterday from my second cruise since cruising restarted. Every member of the crew that I've encountered has been so wonderful. I'm so thankful for each one of them.

I just started cruising a year or so before the pandemic hit, and when it hit we had a trip canceled twice, Alaska on NCL, so your channel and few others has kept me in the loop I am so glad cruising is back and glad that people are getting to go back to work. I have been on a few cruises and have to say that I still remember the guy assigned to my cabin back in 1999. His name was Arnil and he totally made our cruise special. At that time we couldn’t afford a nice ship, so it was a crap Sunquest ship called the MS Carousel, but it didn’t matter because we had the time of our lives. Arnil was a huge part of that. God bless all people who work so hard on the cruise ships.

Without the crew and the Staff there would be no cruise and they truly are the reason we all enjoy our cruises They love what they do and they genuinely are passionate and vigilant about ensuring we enjoy the entire experience …We need to remember that these cruises are thier livelihoods and helps them to support thier Families that they rarely see when they are on board working
Yes I’ve only ever sailed dcl but I’ve never been on a cruise where I had a bad experience with staff

It’s been difficult as we have continued to operate in a very high risk environment. I know many who have fallen sick with covid and have brought it home to their families. All trying to keep the bills paid, mouths fed and a roof over their family’s head. And provide a service to our passengers.

I am so sorry that you and the other airline employees have to deal with the type of people who speak and act so terribly. I am grateful to each and every one of you. My dad worked for Pan Am in the days when airline workers were treated with respect...and I have never forgotten how it was in the good old days!!

I am so appreciative of every crew member that I encountered on the Majestic Princess! They were all hard working and put everything thing into their positions of service while we were there. Though they had to wear masks, I could see the smile in their eyes. I will always support the cruise business. Thank you to you, Tony and Jenny for every you do!

We’ve been on several cruises and have always left a generous tip to staff and we also love to hear where they are from and a little bit of their journey and about family. Such a wonderful letter! I feel that so much because I was supposed to start my first contract on the Grand Princess June 2020 and was crushed it got cancelled. I'm thankful I got another contract and will be joining the Emerald Princess on Sept 27 💙 but yeah this is a reminder to just be kind to eachother because we don't know eachothers situations. That was such a heartfelt letter from the Princess Crew Member. I started watching you and Tony and Jenny during the beginning of pandemic and now look forward to your upcoming TH-cam videos and live streams as my hubby and I really miss cruising. We are in Montreal and we were set to sail on RCI March 2020….the rest as you know is history. We have rebooked another RCI cruise for this Xmas/New Years from Barbados but not feeling optimistic as so much can happen between now and December. Feel another credit coming our way. Nevertheless, you three have made me feel optimistic and have enjoyed your recent cruising restart and the wealth of information and stories. You all make my day when I do get to watch you. As for the crew members on all past few cruises we have been on, we have only fond memories and have been very impressed with the care and attention given to us by the staff through the ship. We are new at cruising since 2017 yet completely hooked as my husband never thought he would enjoy it and now we can’t wait to safely cruise once again. Keep up the fine work you all do on TH-cam as your personalities are infectious and hope one day to meet you all in person. We have all taken so much for granted with this pandemic. As long as we are healthy, we live with hope that travel is in our future….cruising specifically. Thanks Don for all that you do. If I am lucky, I will be going on my 55 th cruise with Princess on January 19, 2022. The crew members are wonderful. I have been fortunate to see cabin stewards, dining room personal and others when I get onboard that I have cruised with before. We hug as if we are friends who haven’t seen each other for awhile. They are such very special people.

Whenever I cruise I always bring something for my stateroom attendant and I just got back from a RC cruise and I gave my stateroom attendant a little gift bag of toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, chocolates etc. He was going to cry.....it was as if he won the lottery. He was so grateful. He made a roses out of tissue paper which made me cry.
I was in the Celebrity Equinox August 1, 2021. I brought our room attendant a gift bag with laundry pods, fabric sheets, stain remover & chocolates . I even gave her a magnet I made with our city/state on it, the first day. She was so very appreciative, it made her so happy. Most crew can not leave the ship for 6-12 weeks, so getting necessities is difficult & expensive.
We need to always remember how fortunate each and every one of us is that we've made it through this crisis. The people on the cruise ships work extremely hard and I never for one minute take anything they do for granted. Your video has touched me deeply. Let's keep sailing as much as we can and support those great people that crew the vessel. I know many of them send their money home to their families as you said to provide a better life for their loved ones. Anyway happy sailing everybody and thanks again Don for your touching video

You also give strength not only to workers but their families. My husband works on a carnival cruise line. During this pandemic we are in uncertainty and despair. I'm a housewife. Every day I spend day after day hoping when my husband is called to work. All of that makes me depressed. one day i was looking for cruise ship info and found your youtube channel. and since that day, I always get updates that finally strengthen me, my husband and children. now my husband has joined the mardi gras. our life is starting to normal again. Thank you Don. So so many who cruise take the crew for granted. I have made friends with many crew over the years and the past two years have had so many different affects on their lives. Breast cancer, divorce, babys and death. My best bud Sergii was sent home to the Ukraine and contracted COVID and passed away at 35. I used to choose cruises he was on. He was always so happy and positive. On one cruise we had four friends one being the FB manager. This was a 23 day cruise and it just makes it more fun to have familiar faces. What a wonderful letter to receive and again thank you for highlighting how much they contribute to a cruise. 😃

My last cruise was 20 months ago. I have one planned for late December, fingers crossed that it works out. Cruise videos have helped keep my spirits up all this time. I just started cruising a year or so before the pandemic hit, and when it hit we had a trip canceled twice, Alaska on NCL, so your channel and few others has kept me in the loop I am so glad cruising is back and glad that people are getting to go back to work. Anyway I wanted to say thanks to y'all for all the info and the fun trips that we get to go on because y'all have taken us along through your videos.

I for one, looked forward to my cruises because once you stepped on the cruise, it was like another world.
