Was an amusing depth of character there. she was always non-challant about basically everything. A lazy way of continuing her character would be her "oh nice" or even more lazily, try to make a pose. Instead she got all shy in a corner, something she never did before, not even under threat of death.
"What was the point of all that hard work until now?" Well two of you are completely out of mana so maybe you're less noticeable to the Stille now. You're welcome.
"This is ridiculous. Have some dignity!" Meanwhile, Wirbel, her teammate, who probably would've done the same thing, because he uses magic to **win**. He will deploy numerous offensive tactics to ensure victory...including consecutive normal attacks (if he could).
I don't understand one thing if this paralyzing spell needs only to see it opponent and say some magic words, does that mean that paralyzed man who also knows how to cast it, can do it immediately.
Magic in Frieren means you have to fundamentally understand how the magic works, and be able to visualize yourself casting the spell. Even if you know how the spell works, if you don't have a sense for it you can't cast it. That's why Ubel needs to understand the psychology of the caster before she can use the other person's magic, if she can understand why they use that magic, she can learn it too.
That spell binds a being and their mana simultaneously. Ubel can cast her weaker slashes by just controlling her mana without saying words or moving but wasn’t able to under its restrictions.
Not really. She can't learn a spell by just watching it. She need to understand the thought process and emotion who went through it's creation. She learned Wirbel's quickly but is trying to learn Land's cloning spell for like month now with no luck. She can't learn from people she can't understand (so demons are out of the picture entirely) and also is bad at learning the normal way.
Very likely yes, but Wirbel seems to have more actual combat experience than most of the mages here, so perhaps he could cheese it somehow. But Fern's basics are *very* solid, so I just don't see him winning tbh

__ Fern, probably
Fern is the "speak softly and carry a big stick" type.

@@davejohn3600of course she carries a big stick, how else is she gonna peg on Stark?

Max dignity comes with collecting Ws.
Fern: "I have a spell that let's me see through clothes."
Ubel: **curls up in a corner and covers herself with her arms**
or maybe she goes full psycho: "then enjoy the view while i cut you"

0:20 "Consecutive normal punches", Fern version
Wirbel casually predicting and blocking all the invisible slashes is lowkey insane

It's a binding spell, meaning you can't control and cast spell once you're trapped by the spell.
