I get Sense logic but Ubel is really just giving it straight. Magic at it's simplest form, is the world of visualization in this world. It's a "can or cannot", nothing more, nothing less, as simple as that. If you cannot see yourself winning you'll never win. If you cannot see yourself cutting you will never cut. But if even for a split moment you believe you can, that is all it takes.
So assuming Im at fern’s level of power, if I believe I can defeat Frieren or Serie in a fight I can?

The fact that the defensive technique is called "Immovable Cloak" means it's a cloak, which is made of fabric. Fabric can be cut.

She outright told Land she'd kill him if he tried to run away from her and she is constantly being openly bloodthirsty. She wouldn't see any point in faking regrets about killing Burg if she actually meant to kill him. If anything she would be bragging about it if she meant to do that.
When being asked what's heavier between a kilogram of steel or a kilogram of feathers, Übel not only insists that the kilogram of steel is heavier but she could somehow prove it to be true.

This shit is exactly what Serie was talking about. If you imagine it, you can do it. Stop thinking so hard.
I dread that all of this is foreshadowing of her being the human mage who kills Frieren, the mage who defeated the Demon King. The worst part is that she can probably imagine even that too, whereas Fern can't (which is likely why she failed to kill the Copy despite a 'fatal blow').
I feel like Denken and Ubel should be able to pass Series interview. But at the same time they might not.
Edit: As of episode 28 we know Uber and Heineken passed.

What makes Ubel so powerful is that she can ignore the rules of magic and see things as it is for more imagination.

Sense pissed me off so much this episode. In the previous episode she said she would essentially handle her own- implying se knew what was coming- and yet did fuck all this episode, causing a student to fail.
She said she wouldn't interfere though

Such peak in one show
Magic in this show is very tolkienesque but with special effects designed for a more action oriented audience.
In lotr books magic is also very up to the user. In one fight gandalf against saruman says "your staff is shattered" and it bursts into pieces.
Not "I'll shatter your staff" or "your staff will be shattered"
He merely stated a fact as if quoting a fundamental law of nature, and reality obeyed. This is very similar, with ubel being weaker than most other contestants but through her insanity/genius she can bend some rules to her advantage.
It's a nice approach to a magic system. I wish the author somehow found a way around power levels but they are important for the plot so it can't be helped.

Does the pit scene really necessary?
are they problematic? there is nothing particularly significant with armpits, the only thing about them that doesnt screem normal ass bodypart is the weirdo fetish but thats just abstract, like if i have an eye fetish that doesnt make anime eye closeup intended sexual scene
