  • During the 2007 V8Supercar Championship Series Perkins Engineering (also known as Jack Daniel's Racing) ran two Rookie Drivers in Shane Price and Jack Perkins. Thanks to GM Holden, Mark Skaife made himself available to drive the #7 Jack Daniel's Racing VE Commodore PE 045, in an effort to help out the two rookies extracting more speed from the cars and indeed themselves.

God I love seeing skaify race! He was a bloody fantastic racing car driver and always will be in my books. Just love it when he’s been at Bathurst and he comes down conrod and goes from 6 to 2nd gear😂 legend❤

So refreshing hearing the engine note and not the whine of a transaxle.

Great video. Interesting Skaife was going back & forth from both teams & willing to give comparisons. Old era V8s rock!

Good to see this pop up again. Love Skaife or hate him you can not deny he was excellent at what he did as a race driver. Seeing this kind of thing, regardless of driver, is fascinating stuff.

Skaifey always has some brilliant insight into car setup!

  • @AlonsoRules

His comment about the throttle is really good. He doesn't want a deadzone.

Always interesting to hear Skaifey’s feedback on car setup. It seems funny that not much changes from being at a V8 Supercar test day to being out at the kart club. Keep up the great work Jack, it gives a great insight into Perkins Engineering. Also good that the team stayed in the Mallee so to speak.

Why haven’t I seen this yet?? Never seen anything like this. It’s usually top secret. Thanks very much PE.

Awesome! Would love to see more of these types of videos if you have more. I really enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes and hearing the technical side of racing these cars. I found your channel a while ago and loved the technical info (as well as a the historic twist through the era that I was most obsessed with) was really great, but I got distracted so I've just made it back to binge-watch as many of your episodes as possible! Keep up the good work!
