Man....I cried when I watched this.....I was 20 when he won at Bathurst in 1993....I went out that year and bought myself a white VP Commodore......He is a true Australian Race Car Legend as good as Peter Brock and others Larry Perkins was my Hero and always will be.......Even when I looked at his race suit with the Holden Logo and the Holden V8 motor sounds it reminds me again what we lost here in this country with Vehicle Manufacturing something that is easy to give up but even harder to take back.....Thanks for sharing this Im looking forward to the next episode.

I worked for Larry & Peter Brock in NZ for the Nissan 500 in Wellington & Auckland in 1991. I was so impressed I set a goal to buy a Perkins car. So in 2012 I bought Chassis 042 & still have it. Good on you for buying a VP.

I no longer watch it no local cars or old golden 5ltrs
This I could and would watch all day a real car a real engine and one of the best engineers in the game.
Tear jerker for sure I was 10 when LP won in this beauty.

The ultimate professional at work. From the looks of it, he was bringing himself and the car up to temp, not getting sucked in by Lowndes & co going past, and checking the alignment for himself. Exactly as I expected from a guy who is one of Australian motorsport’s greatest engineers. That was an absolute pleasure to watch. How was he feeling when he got out of the car, Jack?

After watching your previous episodes and finding out that LP was going to be driving that car around Bathurst tipped me over the edge to going this year.
To be sitting in Mcphillamy park on both Saturday and Sunday wearing my old worn out Perkins/Ingall hat and my new 93 winning T-shirt and watching LP tear over the mountain was just absolutely awesome!!! The old fella was getting faster on Sunday and the final lap slowing down to wave to the crowd was fantastic.
I hope both you and LP know how many fans appreciated seeing LP driving around the mountain again.

    🇭🇲PERKINS BY A COUNTRY MILE !!!
Hi Jack, thanks to you and your Dad Larry, what I just watched was something that I hold very fondly in my memory bank of how good these cars of that golden 5 litre / V8 supercars time period really were, I remember it all, I went to every single Bathurst in those days, and watching that 93 car and Larry do that this year is just GOLD, it seriously doesn't get any better than that, its just so good, so thanks to you both for keeping those old memories well and truly alive, incredible to see is all I can say, and the only difference now is I got showered in the day back in 93 with the victory champagne, well done Jack and Larry, WOW 👍👍👍

Not going to lie, definitely got goose bumps hearing the 304 go all the way to 7500 for the first time. Thanks for the fantastic content and keeping us up to date Jack! @ianhillier4341 the 7500 rpm rule came in for the 1992 season due to rising costs of the unrestricted 1991 spec engines blowing up regularly. The 1991 Sandown 500 is a perfect example of it.

How was the overtaking down conrod of CL in the Betta Electrical BA, the speed difference was phenomenal. Awesome job on the restoration by you Jack, Neil Burns on the engine and of course Larry and the team back at Perkins engineering. A+

That is Brilliant Jack, you will have made Larry the happiest Father in the world. I'm So proud to be part of the Perkins owners with Chassis 042. Loved it when the FORD Mustang passed him & he puts the boot in.🤣🤣Recon you can hear Larry thinking No Way I'm having that!

Well done Jack for bringing back a legend. It took half a lap for LP to settle in but man, it brought tears to my eyes as well. Should have thrown more tyres and fuel at it and given him 100 laps! LP had the eyes on and loved every second of it. Just epic!!!

LP was hustling considering the situation. Great memories for me growing up in the late 80’s, early 90’s watching Larry and the boys from that period. Great stuff! Thanks for the memories 👌✅❤️

It's good to see old Larry with his slipper flat to the floor down conrod. I miss the old supercars. 😊😊

It sounds like it really gallops along when it gets up in the revs. What an awesome piece of history!

I loved the whole series jack. My son Greg made the special trip to Bathurst this year, especially to see the car and meet you and Larry. I am a retired castrol rep and was working from 93 to 2020 so Greg grew up in a castrol house😁. He hasn’t got home yet but I hope he was able to catch up, he certainly got some pics anyway. . Great memories for me, I remember having a bbq lunch with Larry at our old office in Brooklyn. Happy days. pS loved your retro super 2 car too jack 👍
