  • Episode nine of the Unresolved Podcast focuses on Arlis Perry, a conservative young woman that met a grisly fate in the California Fall of 1974. Was it a personal vendetta against her? Or was she, in some way, involved with a nation-wide Satanic cult?
Written and hosted by Micheal Whelan.
Music and production by Tyson Nordgren.

From the "Encyclopaedia of Unsolved Crimes":
"Another aspect of the mystery, apparently confirming that the crime was planned in advance, dates back to late September 1974. On September 27 Arlis wrote to an old friend in Bismarck, trying to explain a recent breakdown in communication with the
    home front:
'I had to laugh about your call to Bruce Perry. Mrs. Perry [Bruce’s mother] made the same mistake. But the strange part of it is that his name is not only Bruce Perry but it is Bruce D. Perry, and not only that but it is Bruce Duncan Perry and he attends Stanford University, and he just got married this summer. One thing, his wife’s name is not Arlis. Anyway, next time you get the urge to call the number is-------- . This time I guarantee you’ll get the right Bruce Perry. '
In fact, there were not two Bruce Duncan Perrys at Stanford, or anywhere else in the state. Santa Clara police dismissed the event as meaningless, but others disagree. In 1980 Minot reporter Jack Graham was told by a local source that Arlis Perry’s murder
involved “someone registering at Stanford under a false name.”"
Sounds like the murderer might more likely have come from Dakota than California, since this amount of planning would suggest a very targeted, personal premeditation rather than a randomly chosen victim.

How conservative did she need to be for that to become the main adjective used to describe her after she died? lol

Have you ever checked out the 'Know Your Legends' podcast on unsolved murders? It's pretty cool too. I've never been a big fan of podcasts but these 2 are pretty sweet.

Yep pre internet was hard, We had shoes made of rock back then. "Called" each other through megaphones, we just called it "phoneing." It was a simpler time. Also I lived in Palo Alto in the early 2000's and I cant imagine a more boring, slow paced place to live. Stanford is about the size of a large Texas high school, its really not impressive at all.

Fantastic, you have a gift for painting a mental picture.
I can attest to the petty arguments. My first wife and I argued over a plastic spoon once. I can also corroborate the order in which an investigation begins. with all 3 of my wives disappearances I was the first to be questioned. How frustrating, they could have been tracking the "real" killer.

Said the man who posts really stupid vidoes that only 8, 15 and 51 people have watched. Who parks a car in the the dark and then has someone shoot a gun in the dark using only headlights? Sounds like hanging out with David Berkowitz would have been safer than being near you with a gun...fuktard. It's also obvious that you live in Heehawville. As if you knew what it was like living near David B. when it was happening...you only know what you have read. The closest you ever got to NYC was watching Law and Order....Since you have no comments on your uploads...let me be the first.
