Hey man thank you for making these videos. I just got a maxi and you have given me so many ideas. I’m a mechanic but I’ve never worked on carburetors (except lawn mowers) so it’s a whole new world to me

These Bing carbs are super easy to deal with. I didnt know much about carbs when I got my bike, but I have learned a lot from playing around with jet sizes.

I love the stock high rise bars. I can't deal with low bars. They just kill my neck and shoulders. I have the long Puch seat. Unfortunately with that you lose the use of the luggage rack. But I need to sit farther back than with the Puch bicycle style seat. That headlight is absolutely hideous. Again I MUCH prefer the stock Puch headlight, I would like to have a solid chrome one, but haven't been able to find one. I use nylon/canvas type bicycle panniers on mine. If you want them to hold their shape, you can cut the top off a couple of 5 quart plastic motor oil jugs and put them down inside the panniers. They also prevent sharp objects like screwdrivers from poking holes in the fabric panniers. I have an Airsal 65cc kit, 15mm intake and PHA carb, and Biturbo pipe on mine. The Biturbo is cheaply made, I'm going to get a better pipe, probably a Tecno Estoril. I also did the bearing kit, and am seriously considering the stuffed crank. I probably should have done that to begin with. The Puch E50 is super easy to work on. I also put extra super heavy duty chrome rear shocks on mine, since I weigh 240 pounds. Mine came with the snowflake wheels, which look really cool, but I replaced them with the stronger Grimeca 5 Stars. I never go off road, I went with Michelin Gazelle tires. They are a bit expensive, but are as tough as nails, maybe tougher. I have yet to have a flat with them. I have the Magnum crank, but chose to go with aluminum BMX pedals. Treats has a couple of much better looking air filters for a 70cc setup that that cone shaped one.

Like the build! Was looking to get into these before I started to ride motorcycles, still looks fun. Also owned a 240z a while back and I miss it so. Just got my first 510 project and I’m excited. You live in the Seattle area?

Thank you! Always loved the 510. My 280Z has been lots of fun so far, and I still have so much to do to it. Tacoma area

Just wired it up to the stock headlight wiring. Super easy

I’m currently restoring a 1980 maxi. Stock 50cc engine. Do I need to upgrade the engine for a new air filter and exhaust? Or will the 50cc handle performance. I don’t plan on going crazy, a simple performance exhaust and mesh air filter. Hoping to get a little more speed. I top out at 25

50cc is totally fine for just exhaust. 15mm carb would help alot also
