    Glad to hear that they are overhauling the motor in your other 2022. If there's anybody on TH-cam that can get a 2022 ram to a million miles it would be Paul. Thanks for the update video as always Looking forward to the next upload👍

    My 2020 loves that hotshot extreme. 8 ounces with a full tank. The regeneration process comes less frequent.

    I almost bought a reasonably priced 21 HO but it was snagged before I could get there. I've been watching this "series" for a while and it definitely made me stay away from the discounted straggler 22s (long list of recalls it seems). A few weeks ago I picked up a single owner 2017 long bed 68rfe 3500 with 52k miles for a good price. I'll tow my 12k 5th wheel about 6000 miles a year but it won't live the hotshot life so the 68rfe should be ok for me. I just got rid of an early 6.7 powerstroke with DPF and engine bucking issues so I've got some real PTSD from that experience I really want to avoid again. I think we're all invested in learning which year of the new cummins will finally have all this crap sorted out - between the CP4 disaster, the EGR valve failures, engine failure, axle issues, etc. Hoping my 4th gen will get me past this dark time!

    1/22 build date on my 2500 tradesman. Been perfect,so far. Only at 9500 total miles though. I don't idle it much. Put rotella t4 10-30 in it at first service. Plan to run t6 next time. Just an FYI for your curiosity! Thanks for your updates Paul!!

    3:55 Fully agree, EGR problem. Shitty DEF at the pump stations is the reason 100% of the time.
    The suggested solution from big truck mechs - fill up on DEF 50/50 pump station and walmart def cans. Especially in cold half a year. DEF don't like cold )

    Cummins engineers needs to get with Paul and figure out pros/cons and come up with the ultimate 6.7 cummins, that would be truly fantastic

    If you happen to have the part number look up for 21, 22, and 23, look in the differences in the piston cooling nozzles. Theory that I've heard is that the cooling nozzles/oil squirters were upsized for 2022, but may have dropped pressure for the main bearings.

    Clean your air flow sensor on the egr. Cleaned mine and the engine sounded smother and shifted better.

    What are the build dates of the 22's that are failing and what are the build dates of the 22's that are so far OK? Just wondering of there is any correlation between build dates and failing engines?

    Need to make sure to run 5w-40 engine oil and not the 15w-40. These engines have hydraulic lifters instead of flat tappets. All the tolerances are tighter.

    Looks and sounds like the HO version may have issues with MY22’s. Could be parts/components quality control on certain builds, but I highly doubt in my subjective opinion that 22’s across the board are an issue year. It sucks if your the one that gets issues.

    Is this happening with the HO( high output) engines? Or is it just have to do with the emissions on the engine?

    PD could you do a quick video on 2022 fuel filters change?

    • @Jon-O.
      @Jon-O. ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Christopher use nothing but OEM fuel filters the Mopar filters are Cummins Fleetguard fuel filters. All aftermarket fuel filters are inferior in design function and filtering. The reason is Cummins patented design and patented Synthetic Stratapore Nanonet media no aftermarket can copy unless you don't care about your high pressure fuel pump and the injectors it wipes out at failure.

    • @christopherwojtowicz8485
      @christopherwojtowicz8485 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Jon O much appreciated. I went out purchased OEM fuel filters from local RAM dealership. I also purchased OEM engine oil filter. Do you have engine oil recommendation for 2022 RAM 2500 6.7? Book shows Shell Rotella 10W-30 which comes as T4 (triple Protection) or T5 (synthetic blend technology).

      @wtbman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shanebrown2963 Yep, was trying to get a 21 but ended up with a nice 17. I've seen other comments on yt and forums that once they mess with the fuel system on the 19-20 trucks they often exhibit other fueling issues. With the quality of labor right now it's hard to get it right and the mechanics and dealers don't care if the truck runs like it did factory optimized. They ship it as long as it runs at all. Good luck.
