Thanks for having me Cinepacks! This was a super fun challenge. Evan and Natalia's versions were amazing. It's honestly super rare to have insight into how other DPs will approach the exact same parameters.
I loved your vision the most. The depth you created with the foreground and the a bit wider lens on the second shot. I love the detail on the tvs and the lightray coming from outside. The only thing I would have changed is not going back on the dolly since it looked weird to come back and forward for such a small scene. All that said all versions are awesome.
Fascinating everyone's rationale and knowledge was top tier and they approached it differently but with their own identity and perspective. Personal preference is Brian because I love Blade running but the camera movement was a nice touch.
Brian was right about the depth. That shelf added so much more into that shot and the overall lighting and composition of the 2nd shot was also awesome. Keep it up brother.
FINALLY a show that speaks my language! Subscribed with all bell notifications. I only regret that I came in too early, so now I gotta wait for the next one! Don't leave us hangin', ya'll!
Awesome idea, I reckon next time you do this, you should get the other dp's to react to each others work. Like Evan and Brian reacting to Natalia's work. Hear their comments about what they liked or didn't like, the mood it feels, if they had an idea that they hadn't thought of, etc. :)
@@andrewcapon4235 yeah we thought of this but had to record each guest separately at different times, possible we could do a remote reaction down the road! Thanks for watching
This was freaking amazing! Loved the different perspectives of each storyteller. Insane how the scenes convey such different stories with just lighting and shots. Love them all, but def inclined to the Fincher-esque Natalia went for.
I loved this episode !! It's awesome to see each ones choice, and how they differ , this was amazing ! I loved everyone's version, they are so unique, super hard to chose just one, they all killed it
I love Brian’s and Natalia’s version because Brian got real depth on the first scene but slightly over illuminated on the connecting part. Natalia’s take was right on the money and the amount of light fir the connecting sequence was PERFECT! Congratulations to all 3.
Thank you all for your talent, creativity, and the beautiful work you create. I’m truly grateful for the incredible effort you put into your films and the detailed explanations you share. Your work is inspiring and motivates me to push forward. Thank you for everything!
three things that make Brian's work better, he used a wide focal length, he arranged the decor, he played with the lights on two opposing colors, warm and cold, finally the camera movement which really pushes you to concentrate.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Well done 👏 It was fascinating to see how each cinematographer approached the space. It proves there’s no one right way to do it. Just good tastes 👌
I liked the Evan's and natalya's version....Evan's version gives the vibe of a sequence where the character runs into the bad guys base and finds the thing... Where as Natalya's version gives the vibe of a apocalyptic moody scenario where the radio connects and shows that in the other side there is some human alive in this apocalyptic world it can be a zombie apocalypse or alien invasion.
When I shot, I take it like Brian did. It looked like feature films. Natalia is good, giving the thriller series vibes. Evan is more like TV show or drama.
Evan's Version: Too bright for my liking. Brian's Version: Liked the exposure better. Loved trying to use camera movement and implementing the Dana Dolly. Personally I think the push in shot worked but the pull back didn't really fit --- also made the cut too long. And when pulled back, the lines made the horizon lines seems tilted. Natalia's Version: felt the safest. Compositionally I liked her original shot the best. Tight and good use of foreground. I usually love dark but I think it was a bit too dark. Loved seeing exercises like this because I've always said you can have different artists create the same shots with similar tools and it would look completely different and this kinda proves my theory to be true. Would love to see more of these.
Wow, That looks really cool. Therefore, it is 100% worthy of likes and comment. It would be interesting to see how they would cope with weak cameras, for example. For example, Lumix g80. Greetings from Ukraine)

Bringing in a foreground was brilliant 🔥I'd love to see more of you ❤️
Your work felt the most inspired of the three, really enjoyed it!
Evan's version: Drama/Adventure
Brian's version: Action
Natalia's version: Thriller
Bro, the first one doesn’t look like a drama
yeah i reckon 1st one more adventure/fantasy vibe
yeah
Brian's 2nd shot is literally an OG Jurassic Park shot. Super pro
@@orcanimal 🦖 🎥
All great, but Natalia's simplicity and atmosphere won me over.
Natalie really took less is more to heart, I'd definitely be experimenting more of this concept
i’m not surprised that the woman’s was better… i’m half jokingl, but really i’m not surprised.
Loved Brian’s direction and Natalia’s exposure. Evan’s was cool
@@BlackPartyFilms glad you enjoyed it 🤝🎥
Natalia for the win! Best out of them!
Great way to show three different visions. All good versions.
brian tang is so awesome
Agreed
Real 🐐
This is a great format to learn about cinematography! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Brian's looks : Survival ( Contact )
Natalia's looks : Bunker ( post Apocalypses )
Even's looks : Netflix dessert feel
I wish TH-cam was flooded with these kind of videos. Sooo interesting. Thanks

Foreground elements on the wide , great idea. Actual lighting liked No3 , keep it simple ,less is more.
All look sick but it’s Natalia’s version for me. 🔥
Natalia’s simplicity and exposure just killed it!! 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Brian’s cinematography is the most technically impressive, but I think Natalia’s vision got to the heart of the scene better. All were good!
Brian was right about the depth. That shelf added so much more into that shot and the overall lighting and composition of the 2nd shot was also awesome. Keep it up brother.
I need more of this!!!
Will do 👏
I liked Natalia's version for her lighting. Brian's use of props shooting through the metal shelves and camera movement was nice and kinetic.
This was so fun to watch ! Loved every version ! Keep this format, it’s so cool

The version @BrianMichaelTang did definitely feels the most inspired of the three -- my personal favorite.
Great job guys looks amazing !

Love the lighting in Brian's and Natalia's

Simply because it is so much in sync with what is happening.
It is more realistic.

Evan's version: TV
Brian's version: Commercial
Natalia's version: Cinema
2:35:1 for TV? i think no

Want to see this shot on some rookie cameras to see the difference in camera quality

brian saved the biggest issue on the first angle, it was too hard to find what to look on that frame.
Brian's version is more cinematic. he has great future
1.Natalia
2.Brian
3.Evens

All of them are good wtf but love Natalia's the most because of Fincher esque
