    Thanks Steve, for another informative video. I don't have a problem with my latches right now, but now it is here to refer to in the future, if necessary.

    Used those axle star washers on my Kenworth door rod last year. Had that door apart 5 or 6 times in a year. After doing it that way, its not coming apart again.

    What paint did you use for your interior … did you use it throughout on the cluster and front dash as well? Any sanding required?

      I used sim coat (purchased at an auto body store) and Dupli color (purchased at AutoZone). They both do the same job. I used semi gloss black. Sand lightly with 400 grit sand paper or a red scuff pad. I did the entire dash because it was beyond terrible. The final results were incredible IMHO. Here is a video of the Jeep before I restored it for your reference (2 min mark in the video).

    Good fix. Not sure why Jeep made it so convoluted. Not like anyone locks a soft top anyway.

    I just replaced interior and exterior handles on my half doors. 99% sure i did it right. But the interior lock doesn’t unlock door (no key). If i pull interior handle and external handle at same time it opens.
    Im stumped? Help. Thanks

    • @ForceBuilt
      @ForceBuilt  ปีที่แล้ว

      With the handle out, can you pull the rods and make the lock work?

    • @DF-yi5nv
      @DF-yi5nv ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ForceBuilt yes I figured that out too.
      But when I put the panel back on, I won’t be able to access that. Maybe I didn’t word my first comment clearly enough? When I put the interior handle/lock screwed in fixed, it seems it wants to stay in the locked position. If I push the button to unlock it Springs back to lock.

      @@DF-yi5nv No, I understood what you were saying. I just wanted to make sure the lock was actually working before trouble shooting. The rods that go to the lock that connect to the interior door handle are easy to get crossed up and put everything in a bind. I had mine binding in the same way and I was sure it was right but it wasn't. My rods actually touch and has a liner on them so they don't bind. That is where I would start. Keep me posted and thanks for the question!

      @@ForceBuilt thank you! I will see if the two rods that go there are crossed Let ya know. Appreciate it.

      @@ForceBuilt yep so top rod does not go on top clip. You cross them and it works. Jeep engineers 🤷‍♂️

      I show you the idea I have to fix a weak spot in the door opening system on a Jeep TJ. PLEASE, feel free NOT to use my idea. I would appreciate it.
