I can't believe Wire is opening for anyone. They are ages above any of those other unknown groups. So Sad. But so glad we have Wire. One of the most amazing contemporary band around.
Who said that you are good as a music/perfomer/artist if you are known or not? Not everyone have access to this music, which it a shame. The only thing i know is that this guys are pioneers.
@JD C Not sure how old you are, but these guys were pretty underground in their day in the late 1970s and even in the 1980s. So if you steered clear of them back in the 80s or even in the 90s, you weren't steering clear of a legendary band, just a really cool underground post-punk band from England who happened to influence a few popular 90s bands. Anyway, glad you found them now. Take care!
Better than ever! Thanks to WEXP for the experience, HD quality and not cluttering it up with the usual anemic studio applause. And for having the best call sign.
I 'm going to demur from this, as a long time fan of the band. I think Graham has in some ways always been Wire's weakest link. And, also speaking as a bass player, I think he overprocesses his sound.
colin newman reminds me of larry david for some reason. especially on the more shouty tracks on pink flag, i just imagine a slightly younger larry david singing it lol
as a bears and watford college person great to see the flag still flying. but wheres bruce? tnx for the memory. how about another street gig in central london?

Wire were an unknown group in their glory days too.

kept them pure. all the best music is unrecognized in its time. thank god. keeps the temptation to pervert away.
They chose to be the openers. A very "Wire" things to do, as a mater of fact.
Alfredo Gomez-Beloz Its a shame man. One of the most underrated bands of all time.
This version of Marooned really makes you transcend
you need to treat these guys like the legends they are

One of my favourite bands since the early 90's. Had no idea about the festival or new album. I'm back in now! Glorious!
I've just discovered this video. I love Wire, my favourite track was Outdoor Miner. Great to see the guys still have it years later!! Awesome.
Wire's been my favorite band since Pink Flag was released.
They change but the underpinnings remain the same.
coolest drummer ever
I feel very fortunate to be watching this. Timeless and inspiring.
Wire are just plain great. Original, clever, accessible, and fun, just to name a few adjectives.
Full- freaking spectrum.
Great to see that they are still making interesting music

Rob Grey looks so godly gracile. This is serious genius- and just as important- they are having a blast doing it. Nothing is like Wire.
Colin Newman. He is still my idol.
Punk that does not age... "Noise will be the music of the future"...
The bass player is really amazing
That tone!
Great basslines. Great tone.
Some of the darkest songs ever written can be found on 154 by Graham Lewis and his bass sound is killer!

My fave Wire album@@stoppropaganda2573
"Live from the future: WIRE"
Excellence and understatement in equal measure ...
colin newman reminds me of larry david for some reason. especially on the more shouty tracks on pink flag, i just imagine a slightly younger larry david singing it lol
most evident when they do the french "1-2-3-4" on the intro to surgeons girl
fucking wire been so great for ever
The sounds , tone and that bass.....
Still the definition of angular ... Lewis is a beast! Love them since the first!
...wearing glasses with your eyes closed is so absolutely cool!
One of my top 10 bands of all time
Love these in-the-studio concerts. ♫
Hearing these guys motivate me to get off my ass.
Just some great, unique music

Michael Hill So true!
Always my favourite band ever...That track Blogging is a killer..Just saying they are way above anything else going around..They just keep morphing...
wow! this is fantastic!!!
A British trade mark - awesome!
another band well ahead of time and the lengh of time they have been going shows it
These guys have proved that you can sidestep the conventions of music and make something interesting by reducing it down.
Oh still wondrous after so many years
1980, the American pressing. Pink Flag
+Rins Boschma Shortest songs of all time :-)
Cioè, hanno fatto Marooned....così...a buffo...che bello!

The best
Fucking hell, the arms on Robert Gotobed...
Nu bullshit,, no show,, just badAss music: Wire ❤️🔥
I'm always waiting for Matthew's hair to mute his strings.
Bruce Gilbert is a tough act to follow. Thankfully, they all still get along.
Kevin Cole is a cool cat!
Oggi come ieri, il futuro.
No matter how many times I see it, I still get a startled double-take at Robert Gotobed's rig. It's so stripped down to nothing.
GodGodGodDamnedLouderLouderHARDERharderHarder!!!It'sgood!IIt;s good!It;s good!!!
My bloody valentine
Love the Wire, but Newman's solo stuff is otherworldly and great!
rien a jeter , the best
wIRE nEVER fAIL
Think of a number....
a number's a number
Stealth of a Stork sound very much like a song Fugazi would be comfortable with.
what guitar is he playing for marooned?!?!?!?
christian hardy the green guitar is a "National" one.
christian hardy I think it's an Airline Map: www.eastwoodguitars.com/airline-map-dlx-seafoam-green/?page_context=category&faceted_search=0
I like 18:37 on
ufff minuto 18 eso es wire
for a band called wire, they're all so wiry
Planet pigs never dies
listen to Pink Flag kids..,
cult band forever and ever
It just isn't Wire without Bruce Gilbert.
I sympathise with that. But Matthew is the best replacement they could have found. Live, he's fantastic.
“Yeah yeah yeah.” Lots of hand movements
Impossible de regarder avec lewis mâchant son chewong gum...
Minimalism at its finest.
I don't know why no one ever mentions their album "the ideal copy" that's my favorite album by them.
Thanks KEXP!
