Possibly protectionism and the increase in costs of left hand drive re-tooling / production runs, european design / product maybe not suitable for the American market at the time of planning. Just a guess.
@@jasoncarpp7742 Jaguar and Range Rover, are considered premium brands in general, and command a higher premium so ideal for export, and possibly the Mini, was more of a novelty in its size, layout, and relatively inexpensive.
It's a shame that Vauxhall was never sold here in the USA. I can see this as an alternative for the Chevy Bel Air, or the Buick LeSabre, or possibly a Pontiac Parisienne.
Having had real world experience of them all back in the day the PA and PB were good interesting cars the PC and PCE were pretty awful although not as bad as the Zodiac Mk4
Nice car. The Olds had one when I was a kid. 3:3 and twin exhaust. Went well.

I can see myself driving something like this. I like the column-mounted gearchange. Was this a 3spd manual gearbox, or a 4spd gearbox?

All New Zealand new ones were single headlights, I have a 1970 pc aswell
